Very dangerous video to watch right before Xmas...😂
👀👀👀
Incredible work. Congratulations, that's a great build!
Great video! Totally want to turn my garage into something very similar to what you did! Thanks for the ideas
LOVE the small turf strip with the built in give. Save you wrists and makes it easy and cheap to replace when it wears out!
Agreed!
Dude good for you! Talk about living the dream. Hope to one day have something like this!
What a beautiful setup! It's crazy, I have seen this video all over social media being shared by different golf accounts. Fantastic job brother.
Love this!! I'm also in West Michigan and have a golf cage but looking at building something around it so I can enjoy it during the winter time! Hmm so many ideas now!!
Teacher here who just built a sim a few months ago and we almost got our products spot on similar lol nice setup
Thank you for making this video
It’s amazing!
Saw this from your post in r/golf. Looks amazing and inspiring.
Awesome simulator and garage build-out. Impressive! I would love to see the vinyl/foam pads. I just started framing my simulator this weekend. You have me reevaluating! 😄
People keep asking! I will try to make a video this week!
Here you go! czcams.com/video/AWXE316klaA/video.html&ab_channel=GolfBusters
@@GolfBusters Much respect! Just so happened to have ordered my material yesterday from Marinevinylfabric, I went with perforated grey. My launch monitor comes tomorrow. So excited. Thanks for the inspiration!
Of course!
Dude, this is awesome! We saw this on IG first, and then saw this video in our home feed. Great video! Amazing project!
Thanks!
This was very helpful, thank you!
Ok, you HAVE to do a video on making those vinyl/foam pads! Looks great.
I could probably do that!
@@GolfBusters that would be awesome. Those are THE thing that is missing from my setup to take it to the next level
@@DaDizzyDino I do think they take the look to the next level for sure. They aren't hard to do but take a ton of time. I will try to get that video done in the next couple of weeks!
And would love to know how you mounted them on the wall and ceiling
I'll try to make that this week!
Wow, got me thinking about this now. Amazing job!! Thank you for sharing.
Anytime, let me know if you have any questions!
I built the same hitting strip, it is a must have. fiberbuilt and other brand name hitting strips will destroy your left elbow in about 6 months.
This video was awesome, I’m 23 and nowhere close to this but it’s inspiring. Thanks man! Subscribed
This is so cool. Job well done and now I want you to come do that at my studio!
Top notch!! Thanks for sharing.
Wow this is a new level of quality. Great video, love this style
This is awesome. Adding it to the 'why' of my investing plan lol
Killer video! Viral! This will bring you the bucks to fund the channel! Let’s get you to 1k!!!!!
This is really well done. Impressive!
Man that’s the dream right there! Awesome job man
great job, thanks for the info.
Most Michigan video ever, I love it.
Well done. Nice build
That's the dream! Awesome build.

Great info, so happy I found this! Just starting my sim build and you've given me a ton of great ideas. I think you've sold me on the Mevo+ over an overhead launch monitor, can't justify the cost right now. I really like the info on the flooring/turf.
Thanks! We have another updated video that gives more information as well!
@@GolfBusters Thanks for the heads up! I'll check it out
Awesome. I'd definitely need the wall panels. Everywhere! As a matter of fact I'd be scared to have that TV there when my friends would come over lol. You probably understand what I'm saying by now, we suck at golf
Niiiiiice.Great work, dude!
Awesome video brother! This is the goal in my garage too! Would love to see the process of building the whole thing! Definitely subscribed 🤙
Let us know if you have any questions when you build yours. Happy to help!
Nice work!
This video was awesome I just finished setting up my net in the yard today. Hope to get something as dope as this some day lol
I think I need to make a video on how to get your wife to say yes to letting you build a golf simulator
Really cool to know this is achievable
Wow, dream setup right here!
Thanks Ross!
Great build!!
Love the diy mat with a lil give on the bottom to hit off of. Great idea! Must be easier on the wrists and elbows than standard.
Thanks so much for this video. I now have a new dream and plan. LOL
No problem!
great job ! JC from France.
Looks awesome! And your wife is a keeper for letting you turn that whole space into the ultimate man cave. Question for you - how accurate do you find the mevo+ readings? And I’m assuming you’re using short indoor mode with it? What set up distances and tips do you have for better readings? Mine is currently with flight scope for repair as with longer clubs like 5 iron and longer it couldn’t read my push draw shot type and wildly underestimated my carry distances.
I don’t putt with mine but here are my ratings. 10/10 chipping, 10/10 irons, 7.5-8/10 driver. In GSPro yardages are good with driver, they were always short with flight scope calculations and then I find anyone who has a hard pull with driver may not have shot shape read well all the time.
Also missed some setup tips:
Tilt always between 11.5-12, roll under .1 in either direction.
At least 10 feet of ball flight, 8 feet from Mevo-ball, make sure to use the metallic stickers.
Saw this on Reddit. Nice.
Beautiful
Very nice setup
honestly, when i first saw the pic on redditt I thought this was a theatre room in a million dollar house. nice job!
Thank you! My wife was astounded at what some people thought the space costed haha, can do it at a reasonable price if you're willing to put the work in!
Hey bro love the video, watched it a total of 3 times now lol I'm starting to begin the process of getting my garage built. How tall are your walls, and did it cost extra to order vaulted ceiling trusses?
The ceilings are 10 foot on the sides and 13 foot in the middle. I’m not sure how much extra the vaulted truss cost but the cost of them is in the document in our description!
gotta improve that surround sound system! still super jealous nice work!
When I was a teacher I made $21k for each of 3 years. I don't think I could afford a golf sim. I had to quit teaching to be able to afford golf. 🤣🤣. Great stuff, keep swinging
And I subscribed.
Yea we did a cash out refinance when interest rates were low to afford it, and thank you for subscribing!
@@GolfBusters Very cool. We'll never see those rates again!!! I'm building a golf area/simulator in my barn which I'm finishing out as a mancave and building a 165 yard par 3 hole on our acreage currently. I dig the look of your's
@golfapocalypse9404 crazy. I made the exact same $21k when I taught for 3 years in Iowa. I had to leave too. Glad I did as I feel much more successful now. But Iowa pays very well now. Also, strange, but I actually have a golf channel called “Golf Apocalypse”. I’m making a par 3 hole on my acreage as well as a simulator in my HQ Barn. So I dig your name. I too subscribed. From both of my accounts.
At some stage the roller door should get replaced with French doors. And the white board should get lined and re-clad. Would look good
Such a confidence inspiring story on where to get an impact screen. Hahaha
You gotta dig deep on Reddit to find my bros Daniel and Tom
Wow. That’s a dope ass garage sim!
Thanks!
Awesome stuff! What I am curious about now is, how well does the vinyl wall panel absorb impact from high-speed ball? Does it bounce back? Would be nice to see a video demonstration of the ball hitting one of those panels.
I made a video showing how I made the wall panels and on there you can see the bounceback! I would recommend panels to direct balls into the screen, I have some directly in front of me and I would avoid that if possible. Still works great just not ideal.
@@GolfBusters how did you mount the panels to the walls? All your panels look they are butt right to each other. Any overlapping going on to hide screws to the walls?
Velcro to the drywall and screwed into the ceiling
Can you Share the Google Sheets doc you created? I'm looking to do this entire project. (Edited, I found the link!) Thank you! your video rocks! keep up the work.
don't even play golf but this is so cool
Thank you for the amazing videos! I may have overlooked this, but do you have a build sheet on all the dimensions for the setup somewhere?
I do not! The room is 24 feet by 24 feet. walls 10 feet tall center 13 feet tall!
Great video. Trying to get my ducks in a row for my setup. May I ask how you have everything wired from the projector, to the computer, to the TV and I'm assuming external speakers?
We're finishing the addition on our house and the walls are exposed so I'd like to plan for the wiring while everything is open before drywall is installed.
It's tough because I'm not sure where exactly the projector needs to be and how to run all the wires.
We'd like to have it set up like you guys do for golf and also hook up the Chromecast for movies and TV. So I would like to plan for adequate sound.
So I ran the cords through the ceiling and drywall before it was put up and ran it to my computer. Look at projectorcentral.com to find a projector that will work
Hey Great Sim,how do you heat and or cool this extra 1000 sq ft...did you hvac it to current home heating and cooling? or does it have just space heaters and window unit a/c?? Living in michigan i assume you get all 4 seasons being in the midwest...im here in KC Misourri and looking for something very similar to what you got here! Awesome job and great stuff!!
Thanks! We ran a gas line to the garage and have a heater hooked up in the corner and then the place is insulated enough in the summer that we don’t need AC!
Great video. Seeing it for the second time 🙂 What would be the length of the room from screen to the back wall/garage door?
That’s 24 feet!
I would appreciate advice on most economical way to get the vinyl wall panels?
Your garage is bigger than most uk houses! I wished I lived in the states, especially if you’re able to get a place like this on a teachers wage.
What is the wood under the hittting mat cutout? Does that affect depth?
I appreciate you answering my questions so quickly and I have hopefully just one more for you. I’m leaning towards the Mevo+ but want your opinion. Idk how far your screen is from where you hit but mine would have to be around 16ft bc I have a steel beam at the 10-12 ft mark making that location impossible. I still have the recommended 8 ft behind me. You think that’s alright? I know I’ll hit the ceiling with the high lofted clubs but that’s alright, it’ll be padded. Thanks in advance.
So that would actually read really well because the more ball flight you have the better the MEVO+ will read. I would think you would get the most accurate readings possible from that distance.
If you end up getting the MEVO feel free to use our code to save 10%. No worries if not!
@@GolfBustersalright sweet that’s what I was hoping to hear. Thanks for all the info man, much appreciated
Awesome job!!! This is my pipe dream. Sadly in today's market, I'll have to spend around 900k on a new house that has a garage this size... lol
:(
A bar is a necessity, Drunk golf is the best golf.
Great video man! Do you know where I can buy a garage to put a sim like this inside? Thanks
Maybe a big self storage unit 💁
What did you use for the metallic dot on the ball? Just silver paint? Want to try and see if it helps eliminate some of the misreads I get on my simulator.
Titleist rct balls!
I’m a teacher that definitely needed this! They need to up our pay! Lol
💯
Very nice content!! Could this software be set up for commercial space? Iike golf simulation rental spaces?
I believe it could!
Fantastic video! I'm curious if the flooring is glued down or if it just sits on top of the concrete in the garage.
Sits on top of the concrete!
Best Video On CZcams my dood. 👍
🔥🔥🔥
Do you know what the distance is between the edge of the screen and the 2X4's that you attach the gator clips/bungees to? I have a 10 X 15 screen that is coming and I'm trying to build the frame before the screen gets here next week. I'm assuming it is around 5"-6". Do you know if that screen can be cut if needed. I ordered from the same place you did. thanks
I think 6 inches between clips and edge of screen. So like my bungees attach to the stud, then there is 6 inches to the visible screen
Love the setup!
Is this American Dollars?
Also how do you find having a soft-strip specifically for hitting?
If you hit behind the ball will it depress the carpet and raise the ball off the ground, completely removing the risk of hitting a bad shot? I only say this because of some recent videos i've seen analysing a spongey ground.
Yes American! And we actually ended up changing the hitting strip. You can see it in one of our latest videos!
Love the setup.
I have very tall ceiling as well with a big space. Will have a 8.5ft by 15.5 screen.. how high up and far back from the screen is your projector mounted..
I’ll be hitting at about 10 feet and would love to find the best projector to be about 12 feet from screen.. my ceilings are 14 feet..
My projector is 18 feet back I think!
@@GolfBusters great thanks. It must be mounted pretty then as well?? No shadows when standing in the hitting area?
Nope! It’s mounted 9 feet high and has no shadows.
Boom baby!
I dont know about your set up but your wife is the real mvp here for letting you build this
100%
Super badass Job, this is awesome... Does it stay warm in the winter?
Yea we insulated really well and heated it!
Any issue with the Mevo+ being under a table? Considering doing that myself but didn't know if it would affect the radar
I’ve had no issues. I think if the overhang it to much it could cause issues but as long as you don’t see it on the camera I think you’re good
Do you have a video on the padding you did? Curious how you connected it to the wAll
I will try to make one soon!
Just finished: czcams.com/video/AWXE316klaA/video.html&ab_channel=GolfBusters
Love your simulator turf that doubles as a putting green. I have already ordered the exercise tiles but need to order the turf. I got on the website and there are 15+ types of turf sold. Can you tell me the exact type of turf you ordered from them as I will go with the same one...heck, maybe even in blue!!!! Thanks in advance for the details on the specific turf.
I can’t remember the exact name but I know it’s 99 cents and close to something like AM25 I know there were two other color options and one of them was burgundy.
Why not but the 5x5 ? square driving range stuff?
what did you use for a header above the picture screen? do you have any sag in the middle over that span?
I'm pretty regular 2x4s that were connected to other 2x4's that were connecto to our ceiling
Do I need good lighting for using RCT balls? Will flightscope able to scanning in dark room like a theater?
Hey! The only thing with the MEVO+ that requires good lighting is the face impact add on. Radar should work fine with minimal lighting with fusion tracking off. If you have fusion tracking on you'll need decent lighting.
Yep am jealous
BRB coming to live in your sim room. I'll bring beer and I am pretty decent at making BBQ.
Hey man I’m trying to put together a similar setup as you. I have most of it figured out aside from the flooring. What is that material you have underneath the blue turf and how thick is it? Thank you! Sick setup btw.
Thank you! Under the turf is foam interlocking tiles. There is a link in the description to the exact ones I used!
@@GolfBusters wellll that’s embarrassing haha idk how I missed that. Thanks dude
Hey S.W. Michigan here. Looking like golf season is over. Just curious, how far is it from the strike pad to the impact screen ?
10 and a half feet!
Your wife seems to read your thoughts with all the good gifts she’s gotten you 👌🏼
Love the casual $67,000 drop at the end of the video. I’m a public school teacher, too…we are obviously on different salary schedules. 😅
😅 that’s if you build a whole garage, if you got the space the $6700 is totally doable!
I was able to afford it with a cash out refinance. Basically our house went up in value it’s the crazy housing market and we took that cash out and refinanced our interest rate to below 3%. When I look back all the stars kind of aligned with the housing market and interest rates.
I did a video on my sim build in my garage and got many many comments for using "cheap" on the thumbnail but I did the whole thing for just under $7000 CND. When I saw this, I thought "oh many he's going to get a lot of comments about cost lol". Beautiful space but ya, the cost is much much higher than advertised.
What is the temperature like during the cold Michigan winters? Are any additional heaters required?
10-30s! I have that one heater in the corner but that’s it’s!
Looks great - note you may be suffocating your PC in that cabinet. It's a little hard to tell from the brief time it was shown.
We were worried about that too. We cut a couple holes in the back and ran some temp tests and all seemed to work well!
Love your video man thanks so much! I am a teacher and I'm also trying to build my own home simulator. I have a question about the flight scope. I am torn between the flight school and the skytrak. I have heard negative things about skytrak customer service and also that the sky track often Misses readings for wedges. Have you had any issues with the fight scoop? Thank you man appreciate any help
Hey Tortelvis!
I currently have no issues with misreads. When I first got it there were issues with chipping under 15 yards but I fixed that by chipping 5 feet away from the device as opposed to 8 (which is what is used for full swing shots).
After that I’ve had no issues and after using the device for the year I think it’s the best device for your money. It took me a couple of weeks to get my setup correct but now that I have it I think the device is awesome. I don’t think I would ever upgrade unless I was given something for free.
Also, you can’t have lefties play with sky track without having to move the device. With Mevo+ that’s a non issue which is very important if you have any lefties playing.
Hope that helps!
@@GolfBusters thanks so much for the quick reply! Yeah I think I'm going to go with the flight scope.. you mentioned the software that you use. I looked it up and you only get about 150 courses right? The Garmin r10 has 42,000 courses. Am I missing something?
I think there’s 1000ish on GSPro but they make more all the time. And the software for the German r10 is very poor. There are lots of courses but it’s like a miniature cartoony sim software.
If you end up getting the Mevo+ feel free to use our link and code, no worries if not!
Imagine being the Frugal Fixer, I built my sons Garmin based with same size screen Simulator for under $1000 . Being on SS, makes you get frugal, and being handy helps! Really nice Sim, like the custom touches! Mine is in my Guitar/ Wood Shop!
Starting our building this summer. Do you have capability of heating or cooling your simulator room? if so what do you use? Also, do you have a bathroom in there somewhere? Love the setup, looking to do something very similar but room will be about 19'6" x 23'
That size should still work fine! No bathroom, and we have a gas heater that hangs in the corner of the room!
@@GolfBusters any regrets on not having a bathroom? just debating on whether to go to the expense or not. Would be nice during the winter, but not sure it is worth it
We have on in our house which takes 15 seconds to get to so no regrets. In the future would probably want the bathroom if we had more money to spend
What is the overall size of your SIM room? Seems like a perfect size. Not too cramped like some people's.
24x24!
Also, do we need to pay anything on top of gspro subscription to run it on Mevo+? Thanks
Nope! Just GSPRO sub and your mevo+ is all you need to use it!
Thanks JB. @@GolfBusters
I don't care how expensive or good a projector screen is I wouldn't be trusting my car behind it LOLL!! Great video, very cool!!
1 year running and no issues!
Great video. I am thinking of doing something like this. What are the dimensions of your space?
24 by 24 if I could do it again I would be 24 wide by 30 long
Having a building just for a sim is the most difficult/expensive part.
Love this man I need to know where you got the screen. Ive looked everywhere in redit can find it😢
Send me an email at golfbustersofficial@gmail.com and will hook you up!
Thank you, email sent!
