GKIDS proudly presents the highly-anticipated new film from director Makoto Shinkai and producer Genki Kawamura, the creative team behind the critically-acclaimed, global smash hit Your Name. @@abilmut well basically Makato's movies are a like rollercoaster of emotions which leave you with a very different kind of feeling a feeling which is basically unexplainable . You basically end up feeling good as well as miserable after his movies I felt miserable thinking why couldn't I be a part of this film I just wanted to go inside that anime world or some other shit like that . You just go and watch it on your own you'll understand what I'm trying to say later.Well I tried my best explaining lol
In my opinion only your name has a great ending. All of his work is filled with beautiful animation but the story/dialogue aren't that good. I guess I prefer a different kind of storytelling.

when I saw this movie for the first time about a month ago or two this movie made me cry and the last movie that did that to me was a Silent Voice .This movie made me realize that even when the world is in chaos as long as we have each other that’s all that matters

I haven't yet watched this movie. But this gives me a "deja vu" feeling. I was 18, I took good care of my grandpa in a hospital. I fell asleep and I dreamed. In my dream, it was gloomy and raining (I honestly hate rain) until I saw a guy with umbrella came closer, approaching me. Average height, cute and he's smiling. His face was blurry but I could clearly see his eyes....
And I know, when I meet you, I will recognize you. Until now, I'm single waiting for that guy in my dream. A guy that would bring sunshine in my rainy days.🥰

I think this movie shows how wrongly we perceive life. It's not about trying to achieving your goals will result to happiness but embracing life (positive and negative) as it is will lift the burden and even take us further. We humans are too invested to our goals/ambitions (sunshine) that we forgot the reality (rain), that's why Tokyo sunk in water in the end because that's the way it should be. Hina was trying too hard to lift Nagi and later on Hodaka and the other people from life of misery that resulted to her own danger. Later on, Hodaka realized he was asking too much of Hina's help and tried to save her life instead. They both realized that what they are trying to achieve(away from poverty) is not the answer to happiness but embracing the entire experience both good and bad. Keisuke represent's older version Hodaka who failed to realize he's stuck trying to achieve goals, didn't live his life very well, but later on had a redemption.

Well I think you got one part wrong there my man. You have to remember that they didn't even know that using the girl's power would end up badly until it was too late so you can't really blame them for it. Plus she got actual joy out of doing it and it wasn't just for money and achievement of goals. At least not for her.

You know, Studio Ghibli etc was a REALLY big part of my childhood/adolescence and always will be.....but I gotta give my thanks for Shinkai Makoto and Hosoda Mamoru for coming around big time in the last decade (& some change), because their films ride me on a wave I haven't been since Catnapped!, Kiki & Spirited Away. ❤
Okada Mari is amazing as well. Her debut as a director was Sayoasa and that hit me straight in the heart. I hope she'll direct more films in the future cause Sayoasa is just so amazing.

I watched this movie yesterday and today it rained . It was summer rain and it was quite hot so i was quite happy abt the rain . The wind was blowing like crazy and raining at the same time . I live in quite a beautiful place . There are many trees . All those leaves were blowing and it felt liked they were dancing to the tunes of the sky . I felt the wind going through me .
