In Spring 2022 I needed to travel from Helsinki, Finland to Tallinn, Estonia, on business. Rather than flying with Finnair or Air Baltic who both fly up to ten times a day on this route, I decided to try out the Tallink flagship, MS Megastar, on the two hour Baltic Sea crossing.
So join me as we try out the 69 Euro Business Lounge upgrade and check out one of the world’s first ever floating Burger King’s!

Looks like a quality product. Very impressive. A top review as usual.

Thanks Tim - it was a very nice alternative to flying (and how often do I say that 🫢)

Finnish people arriving in Finland are fully stocked with cheaper alcohol:.
Estonian people arriving in Tallinn are fully stocked with licorice and Moomins.

Great video Neil! I also enjoyed my time on Tallink - they have a great service. Look forward to more of these different videos soon.

Thanks Callum - it’s a great operator isn’t it - I was blown away with the catering and the staff were so happy 😀

I’m surprised you got cell service in the middle of the Baltic Sea on top of the good wifi speeds honestly!

It was a bit patchy to be honest but overall yes, quite surprising

Megastar is one of my favourites. I really like the free seating lounge perfect for 2 hours. Oh, and the cabins are closed no matter if they are booked or not. You get the ”key (same as your boarding pass) that you can use to unlock your cabin.

Absolutely, thanks Kap! I might just book one of those cabins for fun - i’m curious to test them out 👍

@@MomentsInTheSky Oh...you can actually book a nightly stay as well.

Really interesting, thank you. We are thinking of getting a cabin for our bags - do you think this is unnecessary?

Wow thats the fanciest ferry I have ever seen. I thought the BC ferries in Canada and New Zealand north/south island ferries where good, this one steals the show. Thanks for the review I want to check it out now.

Thanks for watching Jake and yes, I definitely want to do it again or try one of their mini cruises

Yes, the Baltic Sea ferries are mainly built to be very comfortable, the ferries also function as kind of cruise ships that offer all kinds of entertainment. Beside carring cars and cargo.

Tallink runs two two fast-ish ferries between Helsinki and Tallinn which both do the trip in 2 hous: the Star and the Megastar. The Star is quite a bit older (built in 2006) and much more utilitarian in its design than the Megastar but still decent. The Star will soon be replaced, though.
The sister ship to the Megastar called MyStar (very original, I know) was supposed to be finished earlier this year but it's been delayed due to supply chain issues and general Covid-related problems. It's now supposed to start service in September. en.tallink.com/en/tallink-shuttle-mystar-helsinki-tallinn-helsinki
