Mario Golf N64 - "Super Joe" Huge Drives (550 Yards!) ROM Hack

- I've been working on this ROM hack for Mario Golf 64 for a couple months and wanted to show off my functioning "Super Joe" capable of driving the green on a Par 5! Right now I've only been able to edit the 4 Game Boy Color players available with a recent ROM hack, so I am hoping to get the full roster of players at some point.
This Joe has a 4wd drive of 300Y, with a power shot of 330Y, 3wd drive of 400Y with a power shot of 440Y, and 1wd drive of 500Y with a power shot of 550Y. Bigger is possible but there's no point to hitting it off the course.

Thank you. I am going to publicly release a series or ROM hacks/patches with all the work I'm doing at some point so everyone can play this, but it needs tons of work. The first idea I've been working on is a "pro edition" where every golfer hits it straight and 300 yards. This way there is no difference between players and a true test of skill with your friends. As far as I know no one else has figured this out with this particular game so hopefully my hacks can get some attention at some point.

Hey thanks! Yeah, so this project was just a random idea and something I thought would be awesome...to hit the ball straight and as far as you want with every player. I did this literally only with a hex editor and spending a shitload of time looking through the ROM. Someone incorporated the Game Boy Color players into the roster and that laid the foundation for me to find what I needed in the ROM and make progress and figure things out. I am going to release a variety of patches to the game to have the full roster of incredible players with huge straight drives. Anything is possible!
I don't get real life golf, but have always enjoyed playing it on consoles. Everyone's Golf and Tiger Woods are great but they're way too easy. Links '04 is my favourite as it's a bit more challenging, but still on the easy side.
I see you like making it over-easy lol. I suspect you enjoy fiddling with hacks and such rather than trying to cheat high score records.
I played a lot of real life golf with my Dad as a kid and they are good memories with him but yeah it's a game of frustration. N64 Mario Golf is a fantastic game. My buddies and I would get drunk and stoned and play this game all night hahaha. This is definitely just for fun but as far as I can tell no one has made a ROM hack of this game with giant drives like this. It definitely has nothing to do with faking legit rounds, I mean it's pretty easy to see the guy hit the ball 550 god damn yards and something isn't stock hahaha.
@@DrBizz Friends and I have played on a par 3s only course on the odd Sunday, years ago. It can be frustrating even when we would cheat on our scorecard lol. Links '04 feels like real life golf considering how hard/lucky it is to get an ace.
Lol. Obviously, 500+ yards would be easy to spot. If someone wanted to cheat. Could they make a hard to spot hack, like make the ball auto-aim for the hole/green w/o being to obvious about it?
