We do have tumble dryers what it is is insurance....
Because tumble dryers are one of the biggest causes of fires holiday homes don't have them. But u can go to the laundrette and they can wash n dry ur stuff for u.

I’ll most likely never make it to Europe so I really enjoy your videos of traveling there. All the villages are so beautiful. I can only imagine how gorgeous it is in person and especially in the spring when everything is blooming. The sheep following you were adorable and unbelievably clean. 😊💕😊

What beautiful countryside and architecture, and such treasures!
I painted my kitchen cupboards years ago and it still looks good, but preparation was necessary. They had been painted with oil base, so I had to clean with a strong chemical cleaner, rough up the surface with sand paper, cleaned again, used a deglossing product and a final clean with rubbing alcohol. I had painted my bathroom cupboards previous to the kitchen cupboards, without all the prep, and they started chipping in a few weeks. So I eventually redid those with proper prep, they still look good, years later.
I can't wait to see an unboxing video when you get back home, these videos have been so much fun to watch x

Most of us in the U.K. have tumble dryers, we prefer to line dry and finish off in the dryer, but if the weather is bad or cool, we put on the gas fired radiators and put washing on them to dry and finish off in the dryer, probably rental properties do not encourage tumble drying as they are expensive to run them, although most cities have launderettes where you can use the dryers.

The type of sink you bought is called a butler sink it’s shaped like that to conserve water. They are also sometimes called London sinks

It looks like new England town like where we lived in Pennsylvania. Around Shippensburg, Carlyle, everything Is close together. It's the same as it was .like going back in time.
Look for a shipping company for a future HUGE haul trip. We had an antique dealer in our town who would go every few years and have a shipping container shipped back. She told me there were companies who specialized in it.
If you follow at Dreamy Whites on Instagram she has a shipping container company. But she spends weeks in Europe to fill it up. Maybe we can when the kids are grown

I had to giggle about the lack of dryers in England. My husband is English and when we go to visit his family there are no dryers. At his brother's house there are racks on the radiators to hang clothes. It works but clothes are drying everywhere. One of his sisters has a dryer but it's like the old kind that we had in the US in the 50's and the clothes come out wrinkled. We only used it once. Most people hang clothes outside and on rainy days they have a rack inside to hang them on. I just accept that I have to wear crunchy clothes. They do have dryers at the laundrettes that are ok but not great. We went to one in London once.
It’s so funny. People keep messaging to tell me they have a dryer in England. I googled it, it’s about 50% of homes and even then they don’t use them that often because of electric expenses. It’s okay I’m just gonna leave one outfit out when I wash laundry. Because it did not dry on the indoor rack over night
@@JamiRayVintage I think they can get dryers like they have in the US but there isn't a lot of space for them in English homes. Most everyone has a washing machine in the kitchen from what I've seen and an refrigerator the size of my dishwasher. Life is more simple there. I like it though and wish we could visit more often. I think utility bills are more expensive as well and people do the best they can to conserve energy.

This video gave me all the feels. I got to visit my daughter in Mildenhall, England about 2010 for 22 days. It was an awesome amazing trip. My daughter is in the Air Force and has bee to some really cool places. I loved it in England and Scotland too.

Yes, people DO have dryers in England! My son, dil and grandkids are English as well as tons of close friends…so I’m over often. They frequently hang clothes outside or in, but use electric dryers as well. Ask the locals how to pronounce the town and village names….
Oh good to know. All the places we have stayed don’t have them. And I looked it up and statistically it said about 50% don’t have them. I’m notoriously bad with names but I’m getting better.
