Wow, that water looked cold! Ralph looks so happy. Glad you got on well in the wheelchair. The Smartdrive is a good idea. Don't do too much pushing yourself (without the motor). There is no point in making your fatigue bad. Little by little is best.
Oh yes, you wouldn’t want to swim in the Mersey at all! I love my smart drive
This was the sweetest vlog ever! Ralph is such a good boy the way he just walks along side you and doesn’t go off! You have done a great job of training, and I think Ralph was the best investment you done! He seems amazing ❤️ Also, a big well done to you for the first independent outing! That’s incredible
We had the best time and I feel so lucky to have Ralph! He’s my little bestie
That's fantastic Ellie ♥️
I had exactly the same issue with my smart drive. It was because the rubber had come away. Thankfully, it hadn't fallen off the axle so easily fixable.
Yes mine was the rubber in the end but I managed to fix it myself so easily so not a problem!
@@SmallandStrong66 When mine went, it was wagging away like an excited puppy lol. My wife managed to fix it easily.
One thing I find useful as a wheelchair user is certain straps. The easiest to find and most versatile are bungee cords with carabiner clips, good for putting round your waist (and the backrest of your chair) to hold many things, whether it be a shopping basket, bags full of shopping, or for dog leads (in my experience, you may find other uses). Make sure it has carabiner clips because the standard bungee cord hooks are weak af. For a small dog such as Ralph this should be all you need, but if you want a bigger dog like my Goldador (Golden Retriever x Labrador) then a non-stretchy strap is better, bungee cords can only stretch so far before failing. I can't remember where I got it but it's like a typical wheelchair strap but not as bulky.
This is a great idea! My new chair has carabiner stickers on it where you could attach them! I’ll have a look online
@@SmallandStrong66 Looking forward to seeing it and I hope it works for you, and Ralph.
For the coffee issue, look into cup holders for buggies (prams/stroller) or bicycles. There are specific wheelchair ones, but can get quite expensive.
I would but I worry that with going over bumps and up curbs that I’d spill the whole thing anyway
Amazing video Vlog by the way and I really enjoyed watching the video as well
New sub here from a miserable, cold Milton Keynes! Your dog is gorgeous and well done you!!!! X
