HYBE has become bigger than the Big3. In fact, BTS and HYBE were on the list of companies who bring the most revenue to South Korea’s GDP.

I know right! But don't forget about the fact that Big3 is the pioneer of kpop. Like for example, there will be no hybe if there was no SM which is the first kpop company in SK, Bang PD also learned a lot from JYP before he decided to left and build his own company. Anyway I'm also an Army 💜

I was there to witness this transition, and let me tell you ... IT WAS CRAZYYYYYYY. I was so shocked when they released the mv to "I NEED U", especially the 19+ version. The acting, the camera work, everything felt brand new, & gave me so many butterflies. BTS are _amazing_ actors, and I truly appreciate how they pushed themselves so much, and gave ARMY an mv that was focused solely on acting instead of dancing, like they were used to. They stepped out of their comfort zone, and continued to do so with the rest of the BU. I wish they return to it soon. I miss my emo Bangtan. :')
Who knows what transition will come when they reunite. 😊 I’m thinking it be different in some ways. In fact, this may be an unpopular opinion, but I’m hoping they can figure out a way to still make ARMY happy, but also allow them to have more free time to pursue personal lives. I want them to find love, get married and have kids, if that is what they want. I want them to live their lives for themselves, and not for ARMY, if that makes sense.

Big 3 still exists and their contribution to Kpop is undeniably remarkable but Bighit/Hybe is in a league of their own.
The BIG THREE are still considered the big three, cuz HYBE is officially bigger than all three put together.

old army here! honestly, it has been overwhelming. as for me i loved how their transition went! every comeback has been exceeding my expectations ever since. twitter was crazy back then already but ofc you know our past, so this has been a time where we had to stand up against ppl on twitter who kept putting them down. they were starting to get more and more recognized specially when they got their first win. it was very emotional and personally it's been consistently overwhelming for me. ever since my first comeback for N.O, i knew they'll make it. this comeback/HYYH series really had me shook every damn time! honestly i am not yet over this era up to now 😂 and btw it doesn't matter when you became an army as long as you love, respect, support them and stay with them in this journey it's all good! (dorry for rambling lol i just love your reactions!)

The most beautiful moment in life series or The HYYH series is my favorite era. It hit me different when it was released. My age has the same age as BTS (I am 5 months younger than Taehyung) so what they were talking in their song is what I am experiencing at that time. The songs in this era made me aware of my mental health and made me stronger to move forward.

I've listened to kpop for a long time so I am familiar with the term "Big Three" but I dont think they have as much power now, compared to the olden age. Hybe/Big Hit is definitely the number one power player now and it's amazing to see how BTS and the company just demolish the old, traditional and some would argue, manipulative industry and shift the power dynamic into something new and more exciting. I do believe Hybe is going to do something with the global music industry as well, especially if you look at their recent moves.
Tell me about it when the rumors were they were gonna acquire a western label people were going like no way they could do that and then BAM! They one up them they literally bought Ithaca Holdings
@@ma.anjelicachan3351 exactly! I love reading the business news and it really amazes me how far hybe has grown. Not to mention they are now turning into technology based global company, instead of just entertainment company.
And if we really think about it, maybe Bang PD really wants to build the company into this huge entity so that he and all of his kids are able to make music without worrying about money anymore.
I have the utmost respect for Bang PD.
I'm a 2015 ARMY, and I remember how much the fandom freaked out lol. Especially since the title track was wayyy different from anything they'd done before. I just remember a lot of fans being concerned about Bangtan's music losing the hip-hop/rap sound, but they still had those songs in the album.
Plus, back then, they used to release album teasers too, so we knew what each song sounded like. And the fandom struggled so much to give their MV 1 million views in a day. Now that's what we get in half an hour lol...it's insane how far they've come!
I watch these as soon as they come out....I mean I actually make it time to watch the countdown clock on the premiere. I enjoy re-watching it with you all because you catch things with your eagle eyes that I missed the first time around. Borahae!

Uthman is right about the Big Three privilege.. It's their network and connections and money that they are able to promote their idols more. So unlike BTS, some idols already have fans and popularity and promotions even before they even debut.
And, i think within the Kpop community yes they still call them Big Three since these 3 companies still undisputedly produced the most popular idols for 3 decades now, but everyone knows that now, HYBE/BigHit have surpassed them in all aspects and are now the biggest entertainment company in Korea. So there's Big Three but then HYBE tops them all now. Pretty ironic right? How the tides have turned. 😉
As a fan of bts since 2014 the change was quite shocking especially when the time that they stop wearing eyeliner, when their album started to have pastel or brighter colors in it. The change felt like we are opening a new chapter of our life with them and I am proud to say that I'm there with them throughout their transition.
It was 10 music videos by Lumpens back then, but now the count must be really high since hes been directing evry single Mv of theirs

I was more of a casual fan in the Skool Luv Affair and Dark & Wild eras, but The Most Beautiful Moment in Life just hit different and I couldn't help but to officially become ARMŸ. I wasn't expecting the style and sound of that album and it just fit them so well. The story they were telling in that era really tapped into these emotions that I wasn't expecting and they made you FEEL something authentic.

as someone who has been around since bts debut era, the whole reason i stopped watching them was because of the style switch. but then in 2018 i heard them getting big again and now im even more of a die hard army. i love these boys so much and i wish i didnt leave them out for so long
I was not an ARMY back than, but I heard that the shock was big, when ARMY discovered that there is a continuing STORY behind the series. It was like maybe maybe not, and people were collecting hints and guessing, till Big Hit said yes, there IS actually a Universe called BU. If I understand it correctly, the word BU came AFTER ARMY were already thinking that there must be something. I completely agree, I wish I was already ARMY that time. It is already fascinating to discover it after you already know it exists, what was it like to discover it before you knew it exists?

yes they are still Big 3. That title is not due to how much the companies are worth,but it's now more about the legacy and their contribution to the whole K-Pop industry, being pioneers and all.
I've been a ARMY since 2013 and now I still can't believe that BTS has come this far😂 because in the beginning I just want BTS to win 1st prize once in their working life(and we did it) but now...wow look at them im so proud.
to answer your question, as an old army who's seen them transition from bad boy to soft and more vulnerable. it didn't really bother me. I still liked their music since it always seemed transparent. when you've listen to a lot of kpop (actually i learned about kpop because of my schoolmates liking exo, but i never really liked exo, i did find them handsome though but i dislike when people are famous only because they're pretty/handsome. it's common in kpop, when you check other kpop groups you'll learn other groups don't even write their own songs ).
But other than the change in their song styles what surprised me the most is the members developing their "individuality".

I'm an ARMY since 2013. If I remember it well, the engagements was not like the engagements we have today when BTS' comebacks. We are shooked but most of us were excited about what will happen next. And honestly no one really expected about everything. Them and us we are really shooked with everything that happened in this era.
My fav era(s) has always been a tie between wings and ly:era even though I wasn't an army during the respective eras but yeah the songs and messages hit the cords for me perfectly 💜

I've been an Army since early 2014. Before bts, i wasnt really a fan of hiphop music, but bcos of them i started loving it. When they switched to a new style in 2015 i was honestly taken aback. At first, i was always saying i miss their old style, their old music. But when they won their first 1st place, seeing how happy they were, how it meant a lot for them, that made me allow myself to enjoy their new music. I realized whatever their style and music are, they're still the bts that i love so dearly.

i was not deep into the fandom culture in twitter, but for me it was quite shocking the change in style. that is not to say that it was unappreciated given the depth in vulnerability increased and it felt like getting closer to them as musicians. still, i remember thinking "ah, this is it. this is the push they needed" because, although i liked the hip hop oriented style, it felt more like the type of thing kpop needed at the moment. i felt about i need you the same as i felt about the chaser by infinite, to this day my favourite kpop song. the music video also helped further strengthen my belief in this being an immediate hit, it looked so much better than anything else they had released (other than haruman and boy in luv, which were also of very good quality in my eyes).

yes the big 3 is very relevant still. and they have contributed so much to kpop. but now hybe is basically very huge now. groups like bts, txt, enhypen, and soon a girl group/boy group they’re huge.
People still refers to them as the big three more because they are used to it, now a days they also talk about now being 4 top companys that are in the market and a new distribution of "power" in that aspect with the rise of hybe as a company positioning theirself as the number one right now, in fact they are some business relatioships between HYBE and YG so its interesting to search about the company part of kpop.

became a fan during dark&wild and HYYH being my first comeback was the best thing ever. witnessing their transition in real time was something else. it didn’t feel awkward (?) i think many were surprised but in the best way possible. of course there were people complaining about how they missed pre-HYYH bts but it happens with all the eras. i’m just so glad they didn’t stop reinventing themselves, always evolving. but when i tell u HYYH is an iconic era it really is i hold it so close to my heart. bangtan my forever artists.

I just wanted to say that being a fan of Korean music in general brings me to tears just watching how all groups struggle to succeed in this industry.I first came into kpop being a big fan of Super Junior then came SHINee, right after Vixx, Mblaq then one day I came upon Bts on After School Club which showcased how beautiful their hearts where and how talented. I really wanted from the bottom of my heart for them to receive all the recognition they deserved. I really hope that they can always be healthy and happy and for their mental health to be good.💙💜May they always continue to strive in all parts of their lives.

my Malaysian's heart cant take it when i saw the summer package clip part, it felt so surreal. Glad that they enjoyed their heal time there, unfortunately im not an army yet that time and still in my school days, its been years ago that the last time they'd been to Malaysia.
