  • Seen here is a Fijian procession of the Book of the Gospels in the context of a Holy Mass. The Mass was presided by Pope Benedict XVI in Sydney to close the week-long World Youth Day in 2008.
The young men in traditional dance and attire escorting the sacred book are seminarians of the Pacific Regional Seminary in Suva. The men & women chanting are (as per the narrator) parishioners of Sacred Heart Parish, Levuka.
The procession ends when, then seminarian, Karalo Etueni Rasiosateki (now Rev. Fr. Etueni) hands over the book to the deacon, who then proceeds to proclaim the Gospel from the pulpit.
