That’s a rather worrisome sighting! For sure not what I was hoping for regarding Ncila’s health situation. Luckily, it doesn’t look like injuries that won’t heal within some time again. What was rather puzzling were the injuries of the youngster that was limping from a very obvious injury of a paw! Wish we had any idea what was happing here… But thank you for the update🙏🏻 Praying for a quick and full recovery of Mandevu, Ncila and that youngster🙏🏻May the Mbiris and the Tintswalo Males stay safe and thrive🙏🏻❤️🐾🦁

Who caused these injuries?
@@NewBie-yp8wm It's only speculation. Maybe the 3 Birmingham young males that include the white lion. Based on the injuries, it makes sense. I think Mandevu and Ncile had separate encounters with them, and being outnumbered the more experienced males lost, but the young males didn't have the experience to inflict serious/fatal damage. But this is purely my speculation. The fact that Lambile is uninjured but not dominate still tells me it was not in fighting.

What reassures me is that Ncila's injuries do not seem serious, so I hope this limp will disappear quickly. Mandevu is recovering little by little but we can see that he was well attacked, I'm glad that he is well. Stay united all three brothers💓you need to unite your forces if there was a threat, your pride and your little ones depend on it...I hope that the little one💞 will heal quickly and that he will stick to the pride and I hope Lambile is fine.
Is he the brother that was born in the same pride as the Tumbela pride? Also are the Orphen males lions sons still alive?

Lambile is of the same pride as the Tumbela males. To my knowledge the young male who is nomadic is still alive (I hope) as well as the sub adult Mbiri.
Ncile is the one that was born from a different pride and he was the leader and most dominant until his snared incident last year & madevu took over as dominant male and one brother disappeared wen he went off along and the mbiri males was in the area, zigzag & shaker may have caught him and killed him, however he was never seen again and ncile, lambile & mandevu stayed together since then, if folks want quick info on them u can research it or look up the rise of the tinswalo male’s
@@ochoaguillermo638 Lambile, other 3 Tumbela went to Sabie Sand and only one left, he is nomad now, he is my fav from Sabie Sands. Unfortunately, since he became a nomad he has lost his condition and mane, when he dominates Othawa pride he looks very impressive.
@D Hawkz lambile was born in nharu pride which means he's half brothers of Mandevu and ncila..

Do you ever see the Mayambula males up north? It certainly looks like a bigger more dominant group of males did this. Wishing the Tintswalo males a better year in 2023.
I wondered about them too. Last I heard of them, they were moving north through the far northern parts of Sabi Sand, so it's entirely possible. I do think it was young, inexperienced males who did this. I think a more experienced group would have caused more lasting damage if not fatal. Mandevu and Ncile were injured on separate occasions so that's what I'm basing this off of.

A day ago, I saw Mandovu had injuries and some bites, and I thought he was fighting alone with a Nomadic lion but now the picture is clear, it seems Mandov and Ncila together had a fight with another lions

Ncila should be seriously considered for human intervention , after all he was snared as a youngster and he is defiantly at a disadvantage due to those old wounds and there severity . I don't want to wake up tomorrow to find him worse.

The recovery powers of lions is amazing you see them with really bad injuries and somehow they heal.We should really check into how animals in the wild can heal from such bad injuries its always interesting to see how they can endure the bites from other lions when your convinced they won't walk away and they do.

even with those injuries, Mandevu is an absolutely stunning BEAST of a lion. i bet whoever attacked him didn’t get away with it unscathed
You never know , going by those injury's sustained by that awesome lion I tend to think must have been one sturdy lion to put that level of beating on him not to mention his partner came off a little touched up as well.
Hope he heals as quickly as possible. Unfortunately I watched the brutal killing of Bob Jr. by 3 young males and it made my heart hurt. Don't want the same fate for Ncila.

Definitely a fight with two other lions. Mandovu bites are one under his chin and the others in his hind leg and from behind and this happens if the confrontation was with more than one lion It seems that Nklia intervened after the fighting started and saved his brother by confronting the second lion because his injury in the face and hand, Also it seems the fighting began when the Nomid lions tried to attack the injured cub I'm just guessing that might be what happened .
He was probably attacked first then ncila came in lil later help him out

Yeah looks like both were involved in a fight with some nomads. Nomads probably didn’t survive because Mandevu is a powerful ruthless lion and has killed a few,

Hope ncile recovers soon hes been through alot he recovered well from the snare wound and got back in with the pride hes such a beautiful lion ncile red road and dark mane are my favourite lions rip to dark mane i really miss seeing him with the talamatis these boys are strong long may they live and reign over there prides
I believe both males were injured by Nomadic lions. No way they would attack mandavu like that and Ncile has bad wounds too. I doubt very much they fought each other like that.
Ncila is getting old anyway. He is easily injured, in pain, and fragile when age is catching him.
@@drewh3224Ncila is the same age as mandevu and lambile. They were still basically sub adults last year and only got their full manes 6-9 months ago. Ncile is young, snare wound around his jaw affected the growth of his mane and physique. not being able to eat properly and only eating leftovers, because he gets dominated now.

Just imho, Ncilia hasn't had a fighting chance since his snare wound. The Vets should of revisited it when it wasn't healing & he was losing body mass.
Note - I know the rules. But there's no rule that I know of that says "Only 1 vet visit", even when man caused.

Can you check on the neighboring lion prides and see if any of their males are missing or injured
We have checked the Nharu Pride and there was no altercation with any other lions

I just heard from one of my source and again I normally wait until it’s been fully confirmed but from wat I’ve heard the vuleyla males of 5 from wat I was told is prime suspects if this fight against mandevu & ncile, lambile now that he’s getting back in great shape he have being patrolling alone but staying near the mbiri pride incase of an invasion he’ll be near to help the lioness atleast, however a few days ago a source said ncile has been roaring non-stop as his confidence continues to grow and mandevu & ncile went on patrol and maybe I’m the first to report or if it’s already been said but hopefully it’s accurate but the vuleyla males of 5 that’s south of the skorro boys has been venturing deeper and deeper in any & every territory that they very well damm please and according to it 3 vuleyla males caught mandevu alone and it hasn’t been said how much nor how long he was outnumbered however ncile was ncile was close by and yes folks he came to mandevu rescue to allow the fight to be atleast manageable it was 2v3 and the 2 tinswalo males mandevu & ncile was fighting side by side, it’s gonna be interesting now because lambile weren’t present and he’s getting better by the day & now that he’s overcoming that rare disease that killed his tumbela brothers, he’s now looking stronger and has always been a very long body lion so as I mentioned awhile back that the mbiri pride is gonna regret treating ncile like an outcast because one day their gonna need his protection & guess wat, they did as well, because mandevu would have been killed if ncike didn’t come to his rescue so yes the pride needs ncile & soon his leadership as the dominant male as well so although he was once the king and leader of the coalition and mandevu did not ever challenge him until he had to step up when ncile was caught in & nearly killed by a snare, so it’s something to keep an eye on because the tinswalo males are in their prime and now it’s good for lambile to be getting stronger, however the vuleyla males are savage and those three will go and alert their other two brothers and if so then the tinswalo males will need all hands on deck, they will need their 4-5adult lionesses to chip in and help although I’m not sure if that’ll be enough, so fans I hope that gave some of u some insight into wat has possibly occurred here but it hasn’t been completely confirmed as to wen & where but I’ll try to find out and far as to which of the males was wounded from the vuyela coalition, I’m not sure but I am sure that the skorro boys may have got a width of the fight or the maybula lionesses but who knows, let’s just wait and see folks how these lion dynamics will play out!!!

@@kylemisac2492 ur rite Kyle they all have been splitting up trying to explore new territory but they from time to time all meet back up together like 2weeks ago it was all 5 of them together resting after a long patrol and the leader had been going deep into south east of the timbaviti by himself which I heard that he was only about a mile away from the skorro boys, he’s always by himself and the other 4 split into groups of two sometimes a group of three, so although they are 5 strong they doesn’t think they could beaten nor challenge at this time, they are really feeling themselves but they better be careful that their leader isn’t caught alone by the skorro boys because he would be killed on the spot & now the tinswalo males may be looking for revenge as well after they was ambushed by 3 of the vuleyla males, so it’s gonna be exciting to see wat happens next

Fights between brothers don't result in severe injuries like these (even over mating), just minor injuries. It sounds vicious but they don't want to seriously injure each other because they need each other.
@Julie Peterson yes I agree they normally don't fight like this but ncila was a dominant male and he has been beaten by mandevu for over a year now im sure he will be ready to fight for his spot again soon and this could lead to very serious fights between them
@@luckysimba5 What isn't adding up is that on the day we first saw Mandevu's injuries, Ncila wasn't injured. I don't think an injured Mandevu beat Ncila that bad without taking further damage.

No way. Coalitions only do minor injuries, mostly show. This was definitely a fight with outside males. Mandevu's injuries are severe and Ncile's injuries are moderate. The outside lions probably caught Mandevu and Ncile came to the rescue and the outsiders left when there were 2 instead of 1.

@@reginaldjones996 Mandevu did not gravely injure Ncile when he was hurt by the snare, he just showed dominance (Ncile was the dominant before his injury) and rejected Ncile's weakness. Lions, including the lionesses, reject anything they perceive as weakness which is why Ncile has been forced to stay at the edges of the pride. Over time as Ncile healed, Mandevu has defended Ncile against the lionesses. Now Ncile has had Mandevu's back in this fight.
The injuries that Mandevu has are severe and are not indicative of a fight within a coalition. Male lions know they need their coalition mates and only do superficial wounds to settle disputes. I watch lions all over the world and follow their dynamics, so I am aware of what has happened leading up to thus video. Hopefully we get more information soon and there will no longer be the need for either of us to speculate.

The 6 Birmingham Breakaway have split ( as they have from time to time ). The 3 Birmingham including the white male have not split up and they are who has been in this area.

I think chilie and mandamus had a fight remember chilie was most dominant until he got hurt and after madavue took over, chilie will be the leader of the pride again.
The wounds on Mandevu look more like enemy lions were serious--might've had castration and disabling the back legs in mind. Seems it was another coalition--we'll just have to wait for more information. Ncile--pardon the spelling--might've come along just in time to stop them from killing Mandevu, like Nkuhuma might've done when the PCs beat up Nhena at the start of this year.
