I have an XUV 500. after around 17000 kms in 1.5 years, the Oil pump was found faulty. and I had to literally fight a lot with service centre top guys for more than a month to convince them that there’s a fault in the oil pump due to which there is a loud kat kat sound from the engine, especially during the start. and due to the faulty oil pump, the engine has already been affected and it'll be problematic in the long run. I am from a mumbai and take my car at the biggest service centre probably mahindra has in the country. took me lot of research online to find the fault as the service centre guys were clueless. then I found that one more xuv 500, in banglore had similar issue and it’s engine was replaced. I contacted the owner of that car, took details of his service team from bangalore and had to make my mumbai service team contact them and understand the problem! mine was probably the second car only in entire country to face such a problem hence took me lot to convince them. then the waiting period started. special tech guys were called from the chakan plant in Pune for my car and after a lot of R&D they finally accepted the fault and agreed to replace the enitre engine assembly of my relatively new car! my car was in the service centre for more than 2 months for the issue and had to make soo many visits to the service centre and it was also my only car that time! I immediately bought second new VW car overnight as I couldn’t rely on this XUV500! this car proved very costly for me. and it was the top model W8 model available back then! and it wasn’t just this major issue. I kept on facing issues for very basic things as well which made my ownership experience horrible. like the wipers will stop working coz the wiper motor got faulty suddenly and it stopped in torrential rains while on highway! in a moving car! can never forget that day! then had to replace the wiper motor assembly as well! the doors handles or locks would stop working suddenly when I've taken the car outside and parked somewhere, making it unsafe! or power windows would give up suddenly! Power steering would give up suddenly, after the car just came back from the service centre, and had to send it back in a flat bed truck! too many issues! due to all these issues, I vowed to never buy Mahindra ever again. but then after seeing reviews of the xuv700, I started getting tempted again and thought of replacing my bad lemon 500 with the new 700, but then came across this video and it brought back all those memories back again that how I cannote ever trust mahindra cars. they can let you down suddenly anytime! it has let me down way too many times over the years.
Bro I HAVE XUV 700 AX5 PETROL MANUAL. I have driven it almost 18000 km no problem till now. Sometimes the car itself is faulty it depends on your luck.
Guyz go for safari facelift at least for Pure plus S variant without thinking . Least maintenance very less service cost.and the driving experience and comfort can’t match by any other with in the budget

True that. Booked a scorpio N and now would seriously consider whether to go ahead or cancel the booking. I got carried away honestly with all the hype created around the scorpio N. Back in the days I have seen what XUV500 owners had to endure when it was launched the first time. Previously owned a Tata car for approx 16 years and had decided not to go with any Indian car maker ever again. Third class quality control, shoddy design, unskilled service centers, the list can go on and on.
Right decision by Vikash bhai. You can’t keep machine on which you have lost confidence. The new guy of course would have visited Mahindra and obtained the information; after we all the vehicle is being sold within 2 months. That the vehicle will behave the same way with it’s new driver may not be correct as Mahindra would have done the needful to make it fit of course for a price.

We as Indian love and trust Mahindra and Tata but some of their products fail that trust as they does not give due importance to quality control and extensive product testing before go-live !! Most of XUV 700 vehicles have one or other problem.I had problem with touch screen in new vehicle from very first day ..After so many rounds to service center they replaced silver box but still problem persists .Screen would not turn on after switching on ignition and figures on MID change every time after switching on car.service center also don't know what to do...
I had the same issue with my xuv 700 ax5 diesel manual . I did my 10000 km service and on next day went for a drive , my clutch failed , I wasn’t able to change the gear , my car was stuck at 3 rd gear , couldn’t shift .

I have been driving this vehicle top model for one and a half year and believe me, i have no complaints. I drive long tours once a month or for sure two months. Covered already more than 38k. Never had any issue as such of break or anything. I guess it depends on driving skills. You might need to upgrade your skills.

And as you said I didn't have enough guts to drive it in long run..unfortunately in my case in order to save my family from a truck Rear end collision I had to turn the car left but it had touched a biker with family. Most of the time , in this car , we use AUTO Hold , that causes this , another tip , electronic parking brake , is red when on and u have to put the break and release it , if the , electronic hand brake , gets released , automatically, after starting the engine , its a cylinder and line problem , please note while rhe engine is on u apply the electronic parking brake , on putting clutch it will release automatically, its normal , but not normal when engine is freshly started , thank you, never put electronic parking brake after the car discs are wet with rain water , just gear and park , thank you, I owe it for 3 months AX 7 Diesel Luxury
Who knows Kaise gaadi pele in Ladakh….unfortunately it was same Mahindra who allowed him to pay 8 Lakhs by card. If Vikas was real genuine then he would have uploaded the video the day he got this problem not after months. Between now n then many who follow him have booked this car . Features and cabin quality and look is the best in the xuv700 the biggest problem is these problems. Hope mahindra improves their quality control. The majour disadvantage with indian manufacturers is that they buy their components from third party brands unlike companies like hyuandai which manufacturers everything from scratch. If a is being sold for such a premium you definitely dont want to compromise on silly things like these. This car cost upwards of rs 25lakh(top variants) and at this price we certainly do not expect this from a brand. Wts the use of having the best looking car , best engines , best interior quality but mediocre functionality in their products.

If people are ready to pay Toyota money for Tata and Mahindra then Tata Mahindra will also give good quality parts. Tata and Mahindra cost half of Toyota vehicles, so you get what you pay for. It's easy to say Toyota is very reliable but only if you can Afford it. If we compare Rolls Royce to Toyota, then Rolls Royce has far better part quality than Toyota, but the question is can you afford it?
@@rps5952 cheap cars of toyota are also niggle free. It's not about price, it's about culture. Japanese have a culture of strict quality control. Why do we have niggles in Tata, Mahindra? Also they are not exactly cheap, top model XUV costs ~26 - 27 lacs. Base Innova Crysta is cheaper than that, but runs without issues for atleast 1 lac kms. The problem is Tata and Mahindra focus too much on unnecessary stuff like fully digital dashboard, welcome seat, dark theme, luxury pack etc.. and try to provide everything at a cheaper rate and Indians love to have everything at a lower price. Just copy features from expensive foreign cars and provide these at a discount. Ask any Mahindra buyer why he bought XUV instead of Innova, he will say road presence, turbo engine, features, sunroof but quality and reliability will be the last thing that comes out of his mouth. Sensible ppl know quality comes at a price and hence choose Japanese even though they don't offer that many features. Honda city didn't have sunroof till a few years back, but who cares for that, it runs smooth, the petrol engine is rev happy and niggle free. But no we should have sunroof, why, because other cars have that. Is it required? Is it functional? No. The price you pay for these fatures is the reason cost cutting is done on essential parts.

True. Mahindra cars are really good but service is very, very bad. Suffering with XUV5oo service. Even the brakes on my XUV5oo had failed while driving on expressway. The service centre had charged 35000 to replace the entire master slave cylinders etc. Actual reason was that during service, the mechanic had routed the hydraulic tube such that it was vibrating and got ruptured by rubbing with another part. It was loss of money, loss of trust and still the system makes noise, huffs and puffs. The mechanics have not been able to fix it properly. Super product. Would still stay away due to poor after sale service.
I own a xuv500 2020 bs4 model. Within 6 months nd 5000km faced oil leakage problem.later they fixed in warranty. During 3rd service in workshop they made a dent on the bonnet.Later fixed unofficially. But now the paint quality looks bad on the bonnet. Not at all a happy customer of mahindra. Planning to sell it.

I have been driving this vehicle top model for one and a half year and believe me, i have no complaints. I drive long tours once a month or for sure two months. Covered already more than 38k. Never had any issue as such of break or anything. I guess it depends on driving skills. You might need to upgrade your skills.

And as you said I didn't have enough guts to drive it in long run..unfortunately in my case in order to save my family from a truck Rear end collision I had to turn the car left but it had touched a biker with family. Luckily no one was injured..@explore the unseen

Most of the time , in this car , we use AUTO Hold , that causes this , another tip , electronic parking brake , is red when on and u have to put the break and release it , if the , electronic hand brake , gets released , automatically, after starting the engine , its a cylinder and line problem , please note while rhe engine is on u apply the electronic parking brake , on putting clutch it will release automatically, its normal , but not normal when engine is freshly started , thank you, never put electronic parking brake after the car discs are wet with rain water , just gear and park , thank you, I owe it for 3 months AX 7 Diesel Luxury
Who knows Kaise gaadi pele in Ladakh….unfortunately it was same Mahindra who allowed him to pay 8 Lakhs by card. If Vikas was real genuine then he would have uploaded the video the day he got this problem not after months. Between now n then many who follow him have booked this car . The service part was also worst with me with Tata Tiago. Their team was rude and highly unprofessional.

Features and cabin quality and look is the best in the xuv700 the biggest problem is these problems. Hope mahindra improves their quality control. The majour disadvantage with indian manufacturers is that they buy their components from third party brands unlike companies like hyuandai which manufacturers everything from scratch. If a is being sold for such a premium you definitely dont want to compromise on silly things like these. This car cost upwards of rs 25lakh(top variants) and at this price we certainly do not expect this from a brand. Wts the use of having the best looking car , best engines , best interior quality but mediocre functionality in their products.

Fortuner may not give so many features and maybe pricey but longevity is unmatched, that price is for these very same reason...all these people who booked XUVs only time will tell all these features are there but how long they will work !!!
So many issues with new cars nowadays, one has to give importance to basic features first rather than glitters.... foundation has to be strong and service impeccable.... isliye Toyota is known for its kannan quality...jit..

If people are ready to pay Toyota money for Tata and Mahindra then Tata Mahindra will also give good quality parts. Tata and Mahindra cost half of Toyota vehicles, so you get what you pay for. It's easy to say Toyota is very reliable but only if you can Afford it. If we compare Rolls Royce to Toyota, then Rolls Royce has far better part quality than Toyota, but the question is can you afford it?

@@rps5952 cheap cars of toyota are also niggle free. It's not about price, it's about culture. Japanese have a culture of strict quality control. Why do we have niggles in Tata, Mahindra? Also they are not exactly cheap, top model XUV costs ~26 - 27 lacs. Base Innova Crysta is cheaper than that, but runs without issues for atleast 1 lac kms. The problem is Tata and Mahindra focus too much on unnecessary stuff like fully digital dashboard, welcome seat, dark theme, luxury pack etc.. and try to provide everything at a cheaper rate and Indians love to have everything at a lower price. Just copy features from expensive foreign cars and provide these at a discount. Ask any Mahindra buyer why he bought XUV instead of Innova, he will say road presence, turbo engine, features, sunroof but quality and reliability will be the last thing that comes out of his mouth. Sensible ppl know quality comes at a price and hence choose Japanese even though they don't offer that many features. Honda city didn't have sunroof till a few years back, but who cares for that, it runs smooth, the petrol engine is rev happy and niggle free. But no we should have sunroof, why, because other cars have that. Is it required? Is it functional? No. The price you pay for these fatures is the reason cost cutting is done on essential parts.

True. Mahindra cars are really good but service is very, very bad. Suffering with XUV5oo service.
Even the brakes on my XUV5oo had failed while driving on expressway. The service centre had charged 35000 to replace the entire master slave cylinders etc.
Actual reason was that during service, the mechanic had routed the hydraulic tube such that it was vibrating and got ruptured by rubbing with another part.
It was loss of money, loss of trust and still the system makes noise, huffs and puffs. The mechanics have not been able to fix it properly.
Super product. Would still stay away due to poor after sale service.

Within 6 months nd 5000km faced oil leakage problem.later they fixed in warranty.
During 3rd service in workshop they made a dent on the bonnet.Later fixed unofficially. But now the paint quality looks bad on the bonnet.
Not at all a happy customer of mahindra.
