Love Simple Minds one very under rated band. Their early stuff was just sheer genius. Met Jim way back in 1990 and got him to sign my Street Fighting Years book which I have cherished to this day!

It's very simple, he did not like anything that Mick left Simple Minds and from that moment the relationship broke.

I'm a Simple minds fan since 1983. I saw 22 gigs since 1984 to 2018. Even if I love and i will love forever Simple minds, the "real" Simple minds" are ,in some way, almost dead,when Mick and Derek ,they left the band( And then I also didn't like it when Mel left the band). Anyway I have to say that the last 4/5 Simple Minds CDs were quite good!! Not masterpieces, but with many good songs. Unlike, for example, the last 3 CDs by U2, another band that I loved very much until about 15 years ago (of which I saw 18 concerts from 1985 to 2012). Greetings from Italy.

Trevor Horn is one of the best producers worldwide. But in my opinion he didn't fit to Simple Minds. Sparkle in the rain, Once upon a time and of course New gold dream thats the real Simple Minds sound.
