Temtem isn't the type of pokemon game I wished for for decades.... they just took the single player world of pokemon games and said "ok, you can have friends too". MMO design and persistent world can do WAYYY more than that. Starting cities, economies, all sorts of stuff. But it's just pokemon + cosmetics (to be milked for money later) and playing with friends.... eh...
I doubt it would have turned out well. Their budget came from a kickstarter and they're already having server problems with the amount of 'mmo-lite' features they have now. Maybe they'll be more ambitious with they're next project.
I mean, it is a game that is still in development, they will likely add more as they polish. Don't know if they will go with the economy stuff (I always seen that as a breeding ground for scammers and tedium in the form of mindless grinding), but as long as they give more things to do the better.
My one major issue with Temtem is the typings and names. They sound like something a 12 year old would come up with for their OC, RPG-Maker Pokemon rip-off. And for some reason I just can't get past it. I also get the feeling that Temtem might just WoW Classic itself. Feels to me like the hype-train may have sailed on by by the time the servers are stable enough for proper play.

Gotta be honest - i love Pokemon dearly, and i would stop playing if they made a freaking MMO. Pokemon is a single-player PORTABLE game. Yes, it has a few small dedicated modes that allow you to interact with other people, but that's it. And it's good that way. People who whine for a non-portable console Pokemon game, or even worse - a Pokemon MMO have no idea what they are talking about and are for sure not fans of Pokemon.
