Lounge Act is secretly Nirvana's best song
@@peanuts666
I have decided Lounge Act is my favorite song, but Bleach has always been my favorite album: Love Buzz, Negative Creep, Swap Meet...ALL OF THEM. 🖤
@@peanuts666 hey nirvana changed musical directions on every album I don’t what you think in utero v incesticide?
@@davehug5405 the thing is, Nirvana's album "Nevermind" turned out so poppy because of the record label. Kurt Cobain even said it himself, and he wasn't satisfied with it either.
I can't believe this stuff is gonna be like 60's music when i get older.
Yea since I'm pretty young I can't really imagine how grunge is gonna be remembered when Im 30 or 40 :p
***** I mean like I'm 14 years old, and 15 years from now I wonder how grunge music is going to be remembered :p
***** Idk what you mean by that. I'm saying that by the time I'm in my 40's or 50's I'll think of Nirvana the way I think of Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd now...old but still awesome.
20 years ago, my country was at war, a shortage of food, no electricity, bombing, the fear you will loose someone you love, father or brother, total chaos. I was twelwe, and one April morning while we were lisening to Nirvana in the brief moments when we had electricity, my brother told me Cobain killed himself. I'll never forget that day. I felt like I lost a dear friend. Nirvana's music helped me to live through those days, and what a paradox, now, when I talk about the past I say good old days... Even though we were in war, we had music, the little things that made us happy. Today, life lost its value, I miss the little things...So, R.I.P. Kurt, my dear friend. Greetings from Bosnia.
You are not dead, THE WAR FAILED? SURELY NOT WE THOUGHT WE KILLED YOU ALL
This song is so underrated
Kayleigh L nirvana? underrated?? yes great band but basically everyone knows who nirvana is
I murdered the replay button.
I murdered the dislike button so that it won't be there anymore. Lovin the like button though.
Damn! why the best songs are always the shortest ones?
Scyther Boi I'm not sure about that. Lithium and heart shaped box are great. Smells like teen spirit isn't bad, just overrated.
This is a masterpiece.
@@thesound-chameleonman3580 Thought you said Kurt then... was gonna say, good luck with that
It's a beautiful thing knowing that people still come back to listen to this song, and people are still discovering it for the first time. The idea really does reassure me that there still is hope for the world of music :)
That’s beautiful but music is so fucked up these days no one can save it
Still discovering, moved on from metal recently and now I'm into Nirvana. My fav song so far^
To me this song is about a guy who's really close to this one girl that he's really protective over, and doesn't want to admit he likes her because he's in denial. This girl has a lot of guy friends in particular that it drives him crazy whenever he sees her talk to another guy or even flirt, this makes him question his feelings, thus he's "wearing a shield" to protect himself from falling for her, he's afraid of losing her.
@@gustheodorow4483 Come on hat's! That's bullshit. Yeah, every Nirvana song is about heroine, genius. Lounge Act is about Kurt's ex-girlfriend, Tobi Vail. Are you a 13 year old trying to find hidden meanings about drugs in every great song ever written by Cobain?
@Deolina Beirouthy Another idiot teenager who knows nothing about the greatest singer/songwriter who was murdered. I was 19 when Kurt died, and he spoke for an entire generation. No other singer has ever done that. Lounge Act is about Kurt's ex-girlfriend . Go listen to your rap or techno. Leave Kurt Cobain alone. He suffered enough in life, and was murdered for his money. You and Gus don't deserve Nirvana. F*** off.
@Deolina Beirouthy 😅 Quote from Kurt's book-
according to the book-- the girl this song is about is Tobi Vail (of Bikini Kill), Kurt's girlfriend for most of the time he wrote Nevermind. Kurt tells Tobi the song is about her and says he won't play it when Courtney is at the concert.
I'm a fan of Nirvana, not a snowflake, whatever the hell that means. I didn't know them personally, and I'm not acting like I did. I'm sick of people these days thanking that every song Kurt ever wrote was about heroine. He didn't even do that shit until he met that bitch CL. Don't disrespect the band or Kurt by making dumb comments about their lyrics. Kurt was the voice of my generation, changed music forever. The day they found his body, I remember exactly where I was, and how I felt. How we all felt. I have 2 teenage daughters, and they don't make stupid assumptions about him. I've been listening to Nirvana for well over 20 years, and I don't care if some kid thinks that they know everything about Kurt/Nirvana. I don't, and I've been researching Kurt's murder for at least 15 years, probably more. Insulting comments like yours are mean and childish. Research things before you start assuming you know it all. BTW, Kurt wouldn't have hated a fan of his for correcting dumb comments.
Definitely one of the best Nirvana tracks in my opinion :-)
@@drumstick74 omg that was 6 years ago are u still using the same accounttt
I believe this is the only time Kurt ever said "Fuck" in any of his songs
He may have said it in Beeswax. It's one of the very few Nirvana songs I do not care for, and the lyrics (as usual) are very hard to decipher.
Definitely my favorite. I first heard Nirvana in 1991, I was 14. I was 17 when he died. I heard on the radio in my car and I had to pull over and cry. I sometimes still do. I have always loved their music but I think I have developed a deeper understanding and appreciation of it as I've gotten older. Cobain was an old soul and the pain of the world was just too much. He did what he came to do, that's proven here in so many people's memories, then he went on.
Beautifully said! Everything just stopped when I heard he died and I cried. Alot.
Crazy. Thinking back I was would been 3 when he died. Doesn't seem like that . I want to remember him being alive but I didn't get into nirvana until I was like 8 or 9
the most underrated song of nirvana
@@wolfgang6442 There are songs that are way more underrated. Like...everything on incesticide
The father of a friend told us once he was working on Seattle airport and Kurt was waiting for a flight, and then some random guy appeared and dropped his syrup all over Kurt's bag and then Kurt got so mad and he begun screaming like a freak. Jim (the father of my friend) told us that those were the most amazing screams he ever heard in his whole life. And I do believe him.
The imagery of this is making me scratch my head. I'm just imagining Kurt waiting for his flight, when some freak runs by with an open jar of maple syrup. Said freak trips, goes "OH NO" and spills syrup all over Kurt's stuff, which in turn causes him to screech like a death metal banshee.
I would have killed myself too if someone spilled syrup all over my luggage.
I know right? Every time I bumped into anyone while carrying my syrup it was definitely not Kurt Cobain
Josué Bolaños B. kurts screams are so hypnotic he's a God and his screams are his partner in crime 😍😍😍💖💗💗💗💖💖 I love and miss you Kurt

love the bass line :)
ye love the song and get what you mean about the bass you will do it no probs :))
I remember buying this CD when it first came out. I had to eventually buy another from over playing the first one. Scratched the shit out of it. This song was one of those I'd put on repeat. Fuck Teen Spirit, this one was the Gem.
Me too dude! Some albums are killer from beginning to end. This is definitely one of them. And the best songs are always the ones that are rarely if ever played on the radio
I like 'Drain You'. Its my favourite song of them its the best. Sloppy lips to lips?
That opening bass line is so sick, The lyrics are so Kurt, the screaming is so powerful yet the song is so simple and poetic!
Gotta be honest, this has to be my favorite Nirvana song. I absolutely LOVE Smells Like Teen Spirit, but the true Nirvana fans know that their BIGGEST song ever is not their BEST
Yea that's a fact I honestly prefer thus song than smells like teen spirit which that okay but is overrated
My favorite, I am going to learn to play this song and work it into my busking rotation. I will know I got it right when I get arrested. I won't regret a thing. R.I.P. Kurt
@Godzilla Breed is great, and totally underrated. However, everyone is picking just songs from Nevermind. They have songs on other albums that are also great.
I love how Kurt could sing lyrics that would sound like two different sentences or words at once. Thats incredible, people can hear one thing or the other if they choose an its up to interpretation. I love art like that, when the artist leaves it open to the viewers, listener, etc. to view their art as the viewer likes. I love making out different lines to his tunes and making them into something new in my mind. Wonderful talent.
Genius songwriting. Nirvana just hit you with it. He was a rhythm writer like Lennon. The words serve the music. Class act without trying.
Lounge Act has always been my favorite Nirvana tune. It ticks all the boxes
definitely on the list of my favorite nirvana songs. the bass line is catchy too. this is GREAT

Kurts' raspy vocals in the last verse just gave me the same goosebumps like back when I was 12 years old.
On "Nevermind", the term "play only what's serving the song" was brought to sheer perfection.
Kurt: I still smell her on you!
Dave: Really?
Kurt: Yeah, she smells like teen spirit.
Dave: Stay away, ok?
Kurt: Just tell me where did you sleep last night.
Dave: Near the lake of fire, why?
Krist: You two again, is it about a girl?
Kurt: Yeah, Dave is trying to be a love buzz again.
Dave: You're so dumb.
Krist: Oh me.

nirvana was one of the best bands of all time
@@Trevowatt the word "nigga" used in a Nirvana song...yup Nirvana is for real
I can't stop listening to this song
IMMHO this was one of Nirvana's signature songs. The lyrics spoke volumes. "We made a pact to learn from who and whoever we want without any rules, we'll share what's lost and what we grew.." I agree with previous comments..love the opening chord on bass, Krist Novoselic.
Completely agree. Always let this one go a bit unnoticed while a kid, being at the end of Nevermind and all, but it's exactly what Nirvana was all about...
Can’t believe it’s taken me 20 years to be reintroduced to this song. I listened to nevermind, like everyone else, a ton. Wasn’t a big teen spirit guy -more abt fatigue hearing it so often on mtv as a kid. In Bloom -one of best videos ever. come as you are, Breed, Something in the way, were my favorites. Today, lounge act stands apart. I freaking love it!
I love this song so much, definitely my favourite by Nirvana.
I'm a bassist, so I can appreciate a good bassline :D
Ya that bassline in the beginning made my eyes widen it was so smmooootthhhh.
Seriously, for decades now I haven't understood how this song was never played on the radio. Easily my fave Nirvana song. Easily.
This song is absolutely amazing. When Kurt starts screaming on the last verse and chorus I can fucking feel it man. It's just so powerful and it's not like screaming to make it sound meaner, no, there's harmony and amazing tone. He really did have an amazing fucking voice. Also, Krists bassline is so freaking sick too. I love what he did with this jam
@fumetsudragons418 hell yeah, it's nice to see other Nirvana fans out there that appreciate the art that is Nirvana.
Krist's bassline just makes this song. It gets more and more intricate as it goes along.
Grew up on nirvana. Listening both pre death and after death. Haven't listened in a few years. Been spending a lot of time in Seattle (moving there soon to spend the rest of my life with a dream babe) she from Seattle but never knew of the nirvana hype. She's liking Kurt Cobain style alot. Feels great to re listen to these classics with the love of my life
Wow! 12 people like this song so much that they turned their computers upside down and liked it again!
Best song on the album. Wonder why it never got any airplay?
Patrick Reardon they coulda censored it but it says fuck so but I doubt that's why
i feel like it did because the rhythm in kurts vocals feel and sound so familiar.
What a tune. I’m 44 now and still love there music. Awesome.
Kurts vocal performance and delivery are out of this world
One of my fave Nirvana tracks
Long live Kurt
🙏🏻
Cobain was such a huge loss to the world, the lyrics meant what they meant to you, open ended and thought provoking. I was 17 and devastated by this huge loss. Lost my Dad 2 years later, and I knew my life would be lonely after that. But I had Kurt's music, got me through a lot of shit...still does.
my favorite nirvana song 💜
awesome song in my opinion nirvana's most underrated song, my childhood band always kicks ass, their songs will always stand the test of time. and kurt will always be remembered, love and miss you the grunge king. we all miss you kurt.
This, D-7, and Curmudgeon are easily some of the most painfully underrated Nirvana songs out there.
Both are extremely great songs but they have one more. I think Big long now is their most underrated song, they barely played it live and there are no recordings of it at concerts. For some reason Kurt hated that song.
One of the best songs of Nirvana.
Best groove of any Nirvana song. Krist Novoselic's bass line kills!
I'm learning how to play this on guitar and sing at the same time. Definitely a great place to start learning that difficult task. Awesome song.
This is probably my favorite song by them
This is my favorite Nirvana song by far. Amazing lyrics which lead to the inevitable screaming of frustration. Yet, the lyrics seem way more upbeat/cheery than their other songs. Awesome song
One of my top 5 favorites from Nirvana
I remember when I first listened to Nirvana in 1992 or so.. I was 13, listening to things like ABBA, Alphaville and a lot of eurodance. then my brother accidentally left me a cassette with the nevermind album on it and I loved it from the beginning.. this changed my youth. It was a tough time for me because of serious problems in my family and Nirvana helped me cope with it., Now I'm 38 and relistening it after many years and it still has an impact with this different point of view now. And this song is definitely one of my favorites. Too bad Kurt couldnt handle the drugs.
I used to love hip hop and rap then my bestfriend showed me this type of music and now I know what music truly sounds like. His flow in this crazy drummer and guitarist are so good. No computer sounds
this is such an amazing song, i cant believe this isnt one of their highest rated songs
Almost 30 years later and Nirvana is still trolling Wal Mart. An album with a song dropping the F bomb being sold on their shelves
I can listen to this song
A million times and never get bored. Kurt Cobain was a genius, greetings from Champaign Illinois USA.
I think this one is my favorite by Nirvana. This song tears and is comically catchy.
Good Bass just like Love Buzz.
Cap'n Horsepuck
Three of the best rock musicians in the world was in the same band: Nirvana.
Cobain, Grohl and Novoselic - that can't be beat.
Cap'n Horsepuck agree. its about that sound his bass had. but did you know that kurt actually wrote most of the bass lines?
Nirvana is my adiction, and this song isn't the exception. ( I just heard it like 3 times, and I want more )
One of Kurt’s favorite songs🖤
Kurt's vocals are so underrated. He could scream as good as Cornell.
By Far One Of Nirvana's Best Songs.
By far my favorite Nirvana song
That bass line
One of the best bass grooves on this album.
like one of my all time favorites from NIRVANA, love them ♥♥♥
the best nirvana song
My favorite song and bassline. The fills on the bass in this song is just mind blowing. Krist is a great bass player and he really shines on this song. Especially the fills and runs right before the screaming just ties this song in perfectly. Everytime i hear this song i close my eyes and im 15 again.
One of the best basslines ever!
I feel genuine pity for those who go through their lives without experiencing Nirvana! R.I.P Kurt.
Usually a bands best songs are the ones that get little attaintion. And this one imo is one of the best songs on the album. One of their best songs overall to be honest!! Lyrics, melody, arrangement, singing, drums, guitar, bass line etc, etc! A perfect storm!!!
Cobain was a lyrical genius! I remember reading in an interview where he said the majority of the lyrics to the songs on Nevermind were bits and pieces takin' from his scribbled writings, thoughts and poems. Some of the songs were written in a hurry on the way to record the album. He would have lyrics from different poems in one song just to make them work. And some of it was just gibberish rantings and gobbledygook! 😋
One of those songs that completely changes shape when you focus on the bassline. Kudos to krist
Kurdt put all his talent into this song
That bass line... *drools*.
I'm so proud to be a 90's kid growing up, this is real music!!!
100% their best song .. goes so hard during the scream verse. Best lyrics he ever wrote
Krist’s bass is a fckng monster! -& makes this track!!
One of Nirvana's best songs!
This is probably my favourite Nirvana track.
I never really knew the lyrics until I saw this vid just now.
I just always liked the tune.
One of the best songs of all time. Awesome song!
"Truth - covered in security
I can't let you smother me
I'd like to, but it couldn't work"
"And I've got this friend, you see
Who makes me feel and I
Wanted more than I could steal
I'll arrest myself, I'll wear a shield"
"Don't - tell me what I wanna hear
Afraid of never knowing fear
Experience anything you need
I'll keep fighting jealousy
Until it's fucking gone"
I think it's about wanting someone so bad but you can't have them so you have to surpress your feelings though you don't want to.
@@edgetowntx7151 Time Is relative ( 2 months later) great song 👽 !
