As an old boy, I find this fascinating, how far the school has come since my day 2001-2005

I just remember the wispy curls of Hubra Beamont's hair. She could also give a cricket ball some welly. Usually in the wrong direction

Not exactly a level playing field is it. As the premier league has shown. The more money you have the more successful you'll be. I can't see any state comprehensive school having access to the training facilities that this and other 'public' schools are extremely privileged to have. National schools championship is just a frigging joke

If you want to play rugby at a non-competitive level then most state schools will put out a team. If not you can always join your local rugby club. Schools like Sedbergh are usually designed to facilitate the best players and help grow them alongside academies. If your a good player but dont come from a privileged background these schools will offer massive scholarships to have you come play. Furthermore, premiership clubs all have one state school that are connected to them. This means if you are spotted playing rugby for your club and get into the academy then they will often put you in this school for example Beechen Cliff and Bath rugby. If you go to one of these schools anyway you will be offered amazing facilities and coaching for free.
