it seems like that *Established Titles* have started sponsoring way more, -i can't escape them- !!!!
are you the voice for the cards universe and everything game ad?
congrats , as always a nice video , iam glad it gets 2k likes and 10k views first 2 hours
So... how is it any different from *today* ?!!
You may own a square foot of Scotland, I own a star from the International Star Registry
Too bad the Land Registration Act of Scotland of 2012 says that souvenir plots of land cannot be registered and therefore do not actually confer a title
THIS, MORE NEEDS TO HEAR THIS!
@@ghostie7028 there's going to be a whole lot of embarrassed CZcams content creators when they themselves find out
thank you for sharing the truth, I hope nobody actually bought a plot of land from that company
lmao how did people not notice this? it only takes a quick google search to realize these guys should be sued into the ground
then again, if you're buying something shilled on youtube you should expect it to be a scam
If you listen carefully "to be referred to as a lord". That is not the same as being a lord.
How to get titles :
- Be born rich
- Use violence
Or get rich, first Medici is not born rich.
Basically.. like today ?!
-Make a strategic marriage
Inventing something.
@@AlbertAdamsLincoln Landed elite: You need wealth to be nobility.
Merchants: Here's the money.
Landed elite: No, you're not supposed to get rich that way!
That devolution into that land scam was scandalous.
Did see that comming.
it was plainly obvious from the title + release close to Christmas
sponsorship is not part of this video
The video is part of a sponsorship
The easiest way to become a nobleperson is to be born into the nobility
If it is so easy why didn't everyone do it huh?

You forgot to mention marrying someone with a noble title. Especially if you were a wealthy merchant with a daughter you could match up with a noble in need of some dowry money
Marrying declining nobles is usually a bad idea. And nobles that do well usually would only marry other nobles.

Established Titles is the new "name a star after someone"
I knew Established Titles sponsorship ad was coming before the video even began, no way they are not sponsoring this video.
Yes, I would have been surprised if they didn't sponsor a video like this.
@@equinoxomega3600 I guess the video was written especially for the sponsorship.
Established Titles is... funny to me.
It's not QUITE a scam, but only because no reasonable person (in a legal sense) would truly believe that they became a noble of scotland by paying less than a hundred bucks.
They are not even a Scottish company as they are located in Hong Kong. Their terms of service even state that you don't buy any land and they can resell the land as many times as they want. People call them a scam for this and there is no proof that they even plant trees.
Reminds me of people selling stars, or was it planets?
@@WanderTheNomad it was stars as they are somewhat easier to point to than planets. The idea was you look into the night sky and see a star close to a formation you know which isn't part of that formation going "oh, that one is the one I own"
@@WanderTheNomad I have some real estate on Mars I'd like to sell you lol 😏👽🔴
@@theultimatefreak666 Not really, Venus is one of the brightest objects in the night sky, you can also see Mercury, Jupiter, Mars and Saturn
How to become a powerful noble: A tutorial.
Step one: Be born during a time of conquest or reconquest during the 5 or so centuries following the fall of the western roman empire
Step two: Dedicate your childhood to studying the sword (and horse, lance, spear)
Step three: Offer your services to Charlemagne/Charles Martel/a random Norman adventurer/Cnut the Great/etc,
Step four: Kill scores of Moors/Greeks/Lombards/Scots/etc
Step five: Survive
Step six: Get rewarded.
Step seven :marriage and children
Ck2 😂
Some people have the quicker route:
Step 1: be born the son of a landowner
Step 2: profit
@@bobing1752 yeah... but thats the same people who will get the land conquered by you...
Established Titles: Americans buying Scottish titles from Chinese Communist Party middle management…. Yup, makes sense. 😂
Looks like somebody did their homework
Please, elaborate on CCP involvement.

That was a smooth sponsorship transition.
The smoothest
Established titles is a scam and one look into how nobility actually works in the UK would tell you
I would go so far as to say the sponsorship offer came probably before the video idea
@@ghostie7028 what does that even mean though, is a title, that will under no circumstances impact your life, really worth more or less because it is theoretically recognized by the British Gouvernement? I think most people get that this is mostly just a gag so you can tell people at a party that you are some sort of royalty
@@ghostie7028 well he did say there is always that chance you don't get what you want... 3:00
100% gonna try this out thanks for the tips
Edit: I was arrested for bringing men with guns when people refused to pay

I swear Established titles is stalking me
for real
I'm guessing a lot of the youtubers you watch are under a single umbrella group that takes offers from sponsors
@@WanderTheNomad guess again, they are like manscape and raid shadow legends, they hit everywhere and it works
@@stuartpenman6387 That doesn't contradict what I said though?
@@WanderTheNomad everywhere is under 1 umbrella?hmm
Smoothest and most relevant ad transition I've ever seen.
Not really. The service is a scam and legally you are just buying a piece of paper and not a piece land or a title. If you make your own certificate and pay to laminate it then it will have the same result.
@@mattbenz99 Yeah but that still doesn't make the transition not smooth or not relevant to the video? The service being a scam doesn't have anything to do with my comment?
Halfway through this video I said to myself "Selling aristocratic titles to non-nobles? that sounds familiar. Is this video sponsored by?.... damnit"
"Gotta go to work, work all night, work to exploit peasants hey!"
Honey, a new SideQuest just dropped!
SideQuest is rlly good fr
Yes honey.
As a non english speaker i was quite amazed: You get a thief? And that gives you money? Well yeah obviously, but from the king?? took to around 2:03 where the (for me) new word fief was mentioned... Ahh...
Established titles is a SCAM. The value of printing your own certificate on any piece of paper, and one sent to you by email by this guys is exactly the same: NONE. You do NOT actually own the piece of land, and therefore you don't actually have any titles.
sponsored titles is scam btw, you wont receive a title, nobody in scotland will honor it, youd will be just buying a fancy jpeg
I wonder if it would be possible to 1v1 ur Scottish noble neighbor in a game of total war and the winner takes the land lol
The tales tell of The One Established Title to rule them all...
Nah, if you read into them a bit you'll find they keep all rights to the land at any point in time. Yeah, by the time you get your ownership certificate you already have back the land to established titles
Minor conflicts happened a lot, but you must bear in mind the one unbreakable rule of the king: "Don't make me come over there!"
Whoever can stand on their land the longest gets their neighbour's plot. Considering how small these plots are that would basically mean whoever can stand on one foot for the longest gets the land.
Chances are Established Titles has already ‘sold’ ‘your’ land to ‘your’ ‘Scottish’ ‘neighbour’. Neighbour is sarcastic there as well, because they got ‘their’ land ‘sold’ to ‘their’ ‘Scottish’ ‘neighbour’ too.
well done on a 6min commercial. Well played.
Is the Established Titles thing not a wee bit of a con?
There's nothing wee about it, it's a fraud through and through.
Not even wee bit, it is absolutely a scam. You are paying for a piece of paper. You don't even legally get a title or any land.
You forgot one important bit. Helping the king in times of danger. A Swedish horseman gave the Swedish king his horse during the 30 Years War and become a noble for his trouble. Of course it is because he happened to die in the battlefield, so the king decided to offer some help to his family.
Glad to see this channel booming. Well deserved. Glad it popped into my recommended.
It took a long time but all of a sudden early this year (or was it late last year?) it started growing rapidly. I saw one video and noticed 20k subscribers and was surprised it wasn't more popular and had been around over 2 years. Then next video it was 45k subscribers and within a couple months it went from 20k to 100k! 2-3 month stretch it somehow grew that fast.
Greetings !
always love the content
The rest of the historical information about this is interesting but the Court of the Lord Lyon has said (youtube eats comments with links but you have google):
> The term ‘laird’ has generally been applied to the owner of an estate, sometimes by the owner himself or, more commonly, by those living and working on the estate. It is description rather than a title, and is not appropriate for the owner of a normal residential property, far less the owner of a small souvenir plot of land. It goes without saying that the term ‘laird’ is not synonymous with that of ‘lord’ or ‘lady’.
Please don’t accept sponsorship deals to outright lie to people. Scotland does not allow tiny plots of land to be sold (registration of the sale *is* still necessary and not available for such plots), and owning such a plot does not actually make you a Laird.
Rewatching, I think this is the *least* honest Established Titles sponsorship spot I’ve seen. While doing your research for this video you *had* to have noticed that the title of Laird was not related to the aristocracy even historically and was also not available to all landowners.
And if you read your paperwork from Established Titles, you’d know that they do not actually sell you land, so even if “become a landowner in Scotland” were a way to become a member of the aristocracy, as you claim, you cannot do it through Established Titles. It’s enough to make one wonder why they mention this non-existent historical custom around landowners, when landownership has literally nothing to do with their business.
It still apply to this day. It just has a new name. Born into a rich family, where legal bribery (lobbying) is still a thing and laws are made to make rich people richer.
This channel deserves to be much more prominent than it currently is.
No channel that shills for Established Titles 'deserves' prominence
@@simonmay1671 I'll take Established Titles ads over Raid Shadow Legends ads any day of the week!
@@Wilderness-Will I think shilling for ET is especially egregious for a history-based channel, who ostensibly knows how aristocracy works (having just made a video on the matter).
Raid is just a shitty game, whereas ET is a legit scam, and a scam that is advanced by someone who 100% knows its a scam
Fun fact: One of this dude's videos was actually shown in my school.
So it went like it does these days: If one is corrupted and rotten enough, still should be extremely lucky to make it to the billionaires club. Sad if not depressing.
Let’s not kid ourselves. We’re still getting pissed on.
I could feel what the sponsor of the video would be from the very beginning

I am just humbly commenting for support
You can legally become a lord in the US simply by renting land that you own. Hence, "landlord".
Dang you kept the Established titles bit in.
One of those questions you ask yourself for a second but not care enough to Google then forget you even wondered about in the first place.
keep up the good work good man ! 😁
Easily the smoothest and most appropriate segway ever.

A long advert for 'Establishment Titles'
this might be pretty important knowledge in a year or 3
I wish this video expanded more on the subject matter, I also didn't like 17th king James was brought up when the title of the video is "How to Become a Medieval Aristocrat", 17th century isn't medieval, but early modern.
During the Carolingian era, nobility emerged from the warriors who had been appointed to govern the empire.
During the 9th century, "the Great Age of Castle Construction" began. All of Europe was experiencing constant raids from the Arabs, Norse, and Magyars. In order to combat this issue, the kings sought to stabilize their kingdoms by constructing castles, but they couldn't actually afford to build castles for themselves. At the same time, most of these kingdoms were wasteland, so there was plenty of worthless lands. Hence the monarchs began renting parts of the wasteland to the wealthy merchants who would construct a castle there. This might have solved the foreign raiding issues, but the kings had no real way of controlling the lords, thus many lords were reduced to pillaging their own territories for loot, and they became so-called "robber barons" which might have cause much destruction as the foreign raiders.
Bwhahai knew there was going to be an Established Titles commercial! I liked the video though
When he went on bout the land ownership I felt the ominous music in the background
I like this. Its good.
I knew that this sponsorship was comming
now THIS is some vic 3 gameplay
So I just saw an ad for a mobie card collecting game with historical figures and I'm prepared to swear the narrator was this is this guys voice actor
This makes me wanna play some more Crusader Kings
There were some vassals who swore loyalty not to one but to 40 different lords, received land, collected profit and did not answer the call to arms
Can't belive this video is not sponsored by established titles.
