Qianqian can do anything and there will always be people to protect her. In the end, chuchu wasted her whole life and now, she has nothing.
To be fair though, Pei cares about QQ now because she's a completely different person. He never loved original QQ because she was careless, arrogant, brutally abusive too. Original QQ was illiterate and proud of it, she stole from hard working merchants, she beat people up simply because she had superior physical strength, she was a spoiled princess with the power to back it up. The new version of QQ is completely the opposite, she cares about the people around her as well as the common people she will one day rule over (if she stays).

And she never crossed her line even though she went to the music academy.

Then I realized that QianQian always believed in him and abilities as a man despite the inequality between men and women, causing him to believe in his potential regardless of gender. I guess that's why she was his main motivator to keep striving in his career. Now, seeing that she's unreachable, it's natural for him being devastated as QianQian was probably the only one who genuinely understood him.
