    Craig Challen is a Perth based technical and cave diver who is equally comfortable diving deep shipwrecks and exploring caves. He and your podcast host became friends in the mid 2000's when they discovered a shared passion for exploration, in particular in the niche area of ultra deep caves. Along with their tight knit friendship group (The Wetmules), they have travelled far and wide in the quest for new finds, developing techniques and technologies along the way.
    In this conversation the banter is as thick as the stories are tall. There are stories of adventure and derring-do culminating the Thai Cave Rescue. Enjoy!

    Just catching up on these but have laughed quite a bit at this one. Mostly the Christmas Island story. Your relationship is good fun.

    This is more informative than all the TV documentaries combined. Thank-you so much. And congratulations on such a brave and successful rescue.

    I saw The Rescue on the Disney Channel so many times!!! I found it fascinating and the story so heartwarming. A celebration of the goodness of ordinary people and our basic humanity. I love listening to Dr Harris and Craig because they are natural storytellers so I have seen several of their interviews!!!! WOW!!!!!

    Of all the deep cave divers, I find Craig to be the one I would most likely befriend. Nice chap with a sense of humor and eye for detail.

    I raced dirt bikes for 20 years, compression fractures, Chance fracture etc. then my son was paralyzed racing dirt bikes. I started OC scuba for recreational fun. Last 5 years I’ve been going down the road of technical diving. It’s hard to find people who think this lifestyle is ok even normal. Thanks for sharing your story and lives.

    I guess after retired Thai Navy Seal Saman Kunan died in the cave, to have 13 ambulances waiting outside just in case if any accidents happened was not such a bad idea.

    Is sedating a new accepted way of rescueing stranded people from flooded caves?

    • @DrHarryH
      @DrHarryH Před 3 dny

      It's another tool in your toolbox, but I wouldnt say it is accepted based on one successful event.
