I'm speculating but the Valorant code must be designed to be multi servers. League on the other hand still has a the old intricated monolith. I'm pretty sure it's impossible to match make people dynamically on servers. They may be able to do it in few years if they decide to clean the necessary legacy code.

I have no insight obviously, but i think the issue in NA is a player base issue. They can't create a second server without killing the high level experience.

I’m a hardcore ow fan, and while it sucks that RL thinks our fan base sucks (but tbh there are a lot of weirdos in ow) I really love hearing Thorin and RLs takes they really are some of the people in the scene the longest and there takes are real. I understand all the points Richard makes about Valorant but I do think this game has so much potential. I like how the game plays a lot. The way they've balanced the abilities and the pure aiming skill is really good imo. I like the graphic style and I like the overall approach to how they made the maps a lot even though I don't like all the maps. The thing I'm most excited about is that it could be as global as League and have international competitions in one game with a lot of talent from everywhere. Overwatch, Cs Go, COD, Halo have all had certain regions that heavily dominated the competition and some regions that were only marginally relevant or not present at all. I'm sure there will be a lot of challenges but looking at Korea already having a scene, EU and NA being into it I think it's worth the growing pains. If Riot caved to 100 T then I'd say we have a problem but they didn't. I feel like Richard and Thorin are so into CS that they don't even see ir aknowledge the potential upside of this game and only talk about how it's inferior to CS. Having a game where someone could not only prove that they're the best player in their game but the best shooter player in the world. Wouldn't that be hype? I think Valorant has a loymt of good aspects and I personally hope it succeeds as an esport.

ping depends on proximity to servers, I don't know how acquiring/operating servers work but Riot's degree of control would be how many servers they have for a game (and I assume how close those servers are to stage match venues?) Don't know exactly what the casters had said, but Korea has a much less sparsely spread out population and much less land to cover with the reach of servers, and with esports being more established there maybe it's easier for Riot to acquire servers more conveniently located for the LCK? just guessing

Yes, ping is dependent on proximity to servers, but if they include an artificial delay with some kind of software solution, like using a VPN which makes unnecessary hops to increase your ping to a certain number, it may make a level playing field so that no one is at a disadvantage.

100t was definitely right to bring uo an argument 8 ping compared to 40 is a huge deal thats why frost contacted the tournament holder to try and get it resolved and it blew up from their I would assume the tournament employee probably said something that fueled the fire it really wasn't even that big of a deal they could have just look at different servers to use so pings are more balanced

Brax got kicked because he wasn’t good enough. TenZ was/is considered the best mechanical player. Sentinels said that it was easy to incorporate TenZ because he is a good and smart player, also him and sinatraa had pretty similar roles in the team.
Sentinels were already the #1 team. Tenz plays really similarly to sinatraa so he fit easily and theyre just so much better than everyone else already so they just win

However, these platforms are not a public service. They don't owe you an account.
They can pick and choose who can be a user on their platform and can create arbitrary rules.

Social media was great in the first years, but now it's full of deranged mentally ill cunts, some of them created by this social media era, where nobodies think their feelings have to matter for people that you never met or will have any sort of personal engagement in your life. Everyone gets the argument about private platforms. The discussion though is wether or not and at what point do these companies become so big that they hold a monopoly and free market cannot solve the issue with competition, as the monopolies have the resources to shut down any startup competition.
At what point is Twitter more like a public square and not just a private comoany? At what point was Police made a public good and not just security for those who can afford it? Same with fire fighting, electric grid etc.
These companies are nearing the GDP of smaller countries around the world. When do we tell them to sit at the big boy table and not beat up everyone around the kids table?
@@Artesin ohh really? You need 5-6 programmers for 6 months and they can create a solid platform. Nothing is stopping you. As a private company, the big companies can't buy you out without you agreeing. There is absolutely no way of twitter stopping you from having your own platform.
