If a band requires background tracks to enhance their sound, and the venue is notified, then go for it. But, there’s nothing better than living, breathing musicians.
Yes sir I hear ya. In the church world it’s very common with so many volunteers. Sometimes you have a musician and sometimes you don’t lol.

Ha ok. I wasn’t sure. Hope you got something out of it. I was always confused on how to do backing tracks so I figured others might be as well. Of course that’s all we do at church now so it’s common for me now.

Hi! How do you get that first section where it is just the click or was that actually part of the track you loaded when uploading the song? I am just wondering if this is something that can be edited in or not. Great video by the way!
The prime app has a built in click that you can enable for custom tracks. If you are using prime (loop community) tracks then the click is already enabled.
Hello, great video. I wanted to ask you something. How do I put some vocals at the same volume as the microphone in a live performance? In order to create a lipsync track that allows me at certain times to use pre-recorded voices which, however, seem live. As Beyonce, Ariana Grande and many other singers often do
You would record the tracks first in a DAW of your choice (logic, pro tools, etc) as separate tracks, then upload those as separate files. With the app you have level controls for each vocal and then you have the click for timing. Lots of these pros are using Ableton to run their tracks which is like this program on steroids.
PTL, Thx - any awareness about ZOOM R8 as backing track system?
Sorry jaye not familiar with the R8. I’ve been playing exclusively on the worship team for over a year and we still use this app. It’s great but it would be nice to step up to ableton at some point but that adds more complexity. Prime is still awesome though. Easy to get up and running.
Any android/pc equivalent app like this ?
The two main contenders in this space (Praise and worship teams) is this app and playback by multitracks.com and they only support apple at the moment. I've heard rumors of prime coming to android but nothing solid. Most of the time a lot of them end up graduating to Ableton live which is supported on windows but a different animal altogether. It's way more powerful but not as easy to get going like prime. Long answer to a short question...sorry lol

No….but you do need to have your set already loaded (downloaded). If yin try to add songs that you have uploaded then yes you will need internet but just to operate the app, no.

hi, thanks for the video, I have a question: how can I separate click track from the master track in order the audience NOT to hear the click sound(metronome) but maybe just drummer to have the privilege to hear it haha thank you.
Generally at least for this program the click and queues are panned and sent left and right. Master track would stay stereo for audience. From a front of house perspective the sound guy will just make sure that the click doesn’t come out the mains. It’s more of a routing thing so it depends on how you are running them and through what equipment

@@GregSummersMusic How the track could be "stereo" if it comes from only one channel (the left channel) ? Is there a way to have a real 2 channels stereo track and the clic on an another channel ( I mean 3 output channel) with this app? Or i need to do it with an audio interface with at least 3 output on the back?
@@metootube30 if you are wanting to separate the click and loop then it would be mono but you can choose not to split it. You just wont have any volume or mute control without being in the app, so if you are running clicks and loops with a team it’s probably not a good idea to keep them stereo since it would be a global option for everyone (you control what they hear). You are correct in the other option…using an interface with the number of outputs you need will give you the option to send stereo tracks.
@@GregSummersMusic we use an X32 Rack so all the musician can control their own stereo in -hear mix... We want our in-hear mixes to sound as good as possible. Thanks
Can i add my own tracks to this app?
so everyone in the band needs to have the app in their in ears or does it goes to the console? I don't get it
Only one person needs to run the app. The iPad will send audio (click,etc) out to front of house typically or to where your in ears are going to and then everyone can monitor tracks. You front of house guy can send out monitor mixes (just like what you get in floor wedges) or sometimes you will have personal mixers (physical or even an app on your phone) to adjust individual instruments as well as the click and any loops you have. Hope that clears things up.

The app doesn’t really care what you upload to the cloud ;-) Ozzy or Amy grant lol it doesn’t matter. Maybe I am misunderstanding your comment
Will this App remove the vocals off any song, so that I can solo the melodies on my Sax?
no. this isnt that kind of app. The app is really designed for the worship sector and there are songs you can buy or subscription plans that will have the individual tracks that you can mute, etc. and use in your live performances. You can of course upload your own individual tracks for a custom song you want to use. Sounds like you would almost need some sort of karaoke thing for what you wanted to do.
My church just started using ableton live a couple of months ago.As lead guitar player I have very mixed emotions about playing along with the sequences.It doesn't feel like playing live music.IT FEELS FAKE!!!
In my opinion tracks are very beneficial in a church environment, especially with so many volunteers. If people can’t be there you can add instruments when needed. Also helps with those maybe new to performing. This is my opinion though. You’d be shocked at how many of your favorite artists are using tracks live though but it really depends to what extent. Yes, sometimes they can be overused if they are adding several of them that just are there onstage.

Not everyone uses apple products... You people act as if apple is all there is.... not so.
You act as if I made the product. Just providing an option out there. Feel free to make a video of an android or windows based product option. This one is free or better yet you can go buy ableton like I did for $500.

Also remember that in different genres, click tracks are essential for timing of video elements on stage as well as maybe intros to songs (pads, ambient stuff) when putting on a show. For me personally I play at church and this is the norm and sometimes we can’t get musicians in and actually have to have say, a bassist etc so that track gets put in. There is a level of entertainment and visual aspect to live performances that playing to a click is vital. I get what you are saying thought. Yes, okay your parts and don’t do a milli vanilli lip sync show. That’s not the point here. This topic is a mystery for a lot of people so this was my attempt to help demystify thing…not to debate the lameness lol.
