Join us as we look around the shops, learn the history of Hay on Wye castle, meet some of the locals and go on a carving hunt down by the river. Thanks for watching!
Loved tagging along on your visit to Hay on Wye! 💕🐼 📚
So glad you tagged along Anne 🙂😎🐼
I saw Manky 9 times I believe. Thanks for sharing Hay with us, very lovely town and Castles. The history of the gate is impressive as old as it is and how many times it’s burned and destroyed over the centuries. Beautiful structures in the area and much history! Beautifully videography! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜
Glad you enjoyed the history and tour of Hay on Wye Susan, it looks like you missed 3 of Manky's appearances, 🐼🐼🐼🐼🐼🐼🐼🐼🐼🐼🐼🐼 he was a very busy bear this time 😄😂 Thanks for watching 🙂😎🐼
Thanks for another great trip 😊 Thanks to Paul for putting you on to the beautiful waterfall trail.

I think I saw Manky 11 or 12 times. What a beautiful place to have a holiday in and those sculptures were amazing as well as the people and the town. Take care and thank you for sharing 👍🙏❤️
⭐🐼⭐ The official count was 12 Chris, so well done 🏆 We thought the sculptures were amazing too, and as you say the people were great too. Take care and thanks for watching 🙂😎🐼
Very cool animal carvings throughout the trail! Gives it a most magical setting…
They were magical Nicole, a lovely setting too by the river. So glad you liked them too 🙂😎🐼
Oh, how I would love to live in Great Britain even for a little while. Your videos are much appreciated.
We're so pleased to know how much you enjoy the videos, thanks for watching 🙂😎🐼
You certainly picked a wonderful time for a couple of days' caravanning! Hay looked so special with the backdrop of that gorgeous blue sky and finally there's even a little warmth in the sun now. I didn't even know that Hay dated back to the Normans so it was so nice to hear a little of some history that was completely unknown to me. What a gorgeous place. Oh my goodness what a tree! It looked for all the world as though it could pick up its roots and walk! Such character and the bark was truly amazing. Where but Hay would you find such a well-stocked honesty book stall? It must be a wonderful place to be when the book festival takes place but is still a fabulous location to visit at any time. It's a not-to-be-missed-destination fr sure! And it has arguably the poshest looking Oxfam shop I've ever seen! And 'hi' to Paul if he's reading the comments! What would I buy off those shelves. Well the flamingoes of course, but I bet those aren't for sale! The whole of Hay is enchanting and thank you so much for taking us all along. I hope you have a wonderful stay!
The weather was great for the trip to Hay. So glad you enjoyed the history of the town, and the very posh charity shop. Paul was a great character and such a nice chap. Those flamingos were very colourful, and we did have a wonderful stay, thank you. 🙂😎🐼

Love the Oxfam, I would definitely take a look at the clothing! And I love what the lady who runs the shop does with the upcycling.
It was an impressive shop Cathryn, and the manageress really does work hard on the place. 🙂😎🐼

"Enjoyed every moment" what a wonderful thing to say Rosia. We're so happy to hear how much you enjoyed this trip 🙂😎🐼
Thank you so much Phil and Caroline. What a wonderful place to visit and take a wander. The textures and patterns on that tree had me enraptured. And what would I like to get in that shop? Biscuit tins ! There's not a proper Biscuit tin anywhere around here . They are so useful and colorful and interesting. Yup. My kind of junk is a few Biscuit tins.😅❤
Our pleasure Annette, we're so glad you liked the visit, including that incredible tree and the lovely shop. Hope you find a proper biscuit tin 🙂😎🐼
Beautiful scenery
It's a lovely part of the world Janet, so glad you liked it too 🙂😎🐼
My husband watches your videos with me. He loves the history you share and wishes you could do more and longer. He has learned so much from your travels! Thank you!❤
Thank you both for watching the videos and for your encouraging comment. We would love to make longer videos, but sadly we have to work so don't have the time. Seeing the channel grow, so that we were able to just make videos would be our dream scenario. 🙂😎🐼🐼
The clock tower is beautiful!
It is Kathleen and a bargain at £600... if it was in today's money, but probably a small fortune in Victorian times. 🙂😎🐼
What a beautiful town! I’m hoping I saw all of Manky’s presence there. See you! Byee!
So glad you liked the town Dee, thanks for watching 🙂😎🐼

The Oxfam shop looks so lovely, very vintage looking, really enjoyed watching this,, haven't been to Hay on Wye for years, looking forward going again soon and now with new places to explore, I believe there is a festival at the end of May, anyhoo thanks so much for doing these videos both..so interesting ::)
We loved our visit to Hay on Wye Joan, and that was an incredible Oxfam Shop. Hope you have a great time when you are there, and we recommend the café by the river 🙂😎🐼🐼
Hi both, Well we visited Hay yesterday, and realised it was 25 years since our last visit, such a pretty town, the weather was wonderful, we looked in so many vintage, retro, antique shops, including Oxfam, and were in awe of the Hay Antique Market, we walked through the castle grounds, enjoyed a coffee at the Bean Box cafe, “lovely”and took a leisurely stroll along the river side path.. thanks again for recommending both..We had such a lovely day..❤
Monkey was enjoying a nice piece of cake and a cup of tea
He's never far away when there's cake around 🍰🐼🍰
The big tree looks like the whomping willow from Hogwarts. Wish I were back there with both of you, visited Hay in 2008 for the festival, loved the town and atmosphere. Bookseller is my ideal profession, although I am a librarian.
Gosh Caroline, it must have been a wonderful experience being in Hay for the festival. 🙂😎🐼
It was!
These trip videos look great. I'm just wondering though; Are mudlarking adventures right around the corner this spring?
Sorry Steven, due to health issues we aren't making any plans to go Mudlarking. 🙂😎🐼
Saw Manky 10 times.
Very close Kim, but you missed a couple 🐼🐼
I believe I need to go there. Brian would love it too because of all the book stores. Thanks for taking us along. I love the carvings on the nature walk.
People come to Hay on Wye from all over the world Laura, the book shops are amazing, and the town & countryside are so beautiful. 🙂😎🐼
@Let's go with The Johnsons! someday guys we will come visit you! And see Wales and the UK. I've only been to Ľondon and Canterbury. I did ride a train through Cornwall to get to London after riding the ferry from Dublin.

Sorry Jo, but due to age & health factors we decided to leave the tips & rivers in favour of history & travel. Thank you for following our mudlarking adventures in the past. 🙂😎🐼
I loved the mudlarking adventures you took me on. I will miss them as I'm sure you will to. Wishing you safe journeys and good health always from Iowa USA. Will try and catch some of your travels to check-in on you both ❤
