How To Hide Negative Values in Excel with Format Cells Option

Hiding negative values is easy but tricky one. Today you'll learn to change the way negative numbers are displayed in excel. I've already covered how you can hide negative numbers in excel: • How To Hide Negative N... In this tutorial, I'm going to hide negative values using a different approach. I'll be using the "Format Cells" option, and I'm using excel 2019 for the demonstration. You can use this technique on each version from excel 2010 to above.
Without further ado, let's learn how to hide negative values in excel with the format cells option.
Step 1: Select the data range.
Step 2: Right-click and select "Format Cells."
Step 3: Click on "Custom"
Step 4: Write 0;””
Step 5: Click ok and done. All the negative values are now hidden. But if you take a look at the formula bar, you'll be able to see the negative values. Now you know how to change how excel displays negative numbers.
The most important thing is that you can also use these hidden negative values for further calculation. This is how you can hide negative numbers in excel.
Now the custom formula we used in the format cells option is really easy. Here before the semicolon, we write positive values, and after the semicolon, we write negative values. So if you used this technique and the technique is used in the previous video, you'll be able to display only positive numbers in excel.
