Hey kids, pay attention here. This is what real music, and musicianship is all about. No fireworks, or smoke-bombs, or prancing around the stage. Who woulda thunk back in the day that a blues tune written by Blind Willie McTell and first recorded in 1928 would end up as such an enduring Blues/Rock standard? ROCK AND ROLL WILL NEVER DIE!
@@J.C... Yeah, about that, the Allman Brothers took the arrangement for "States Borough Blues" from Taj Mahal's version on his first album with Ry Cooder on lead guitar, which came out at least a year before the Allmans version.

Tedeschi Trucks Band opened for the Eagles show last night in Atlanta - they blew the crowd away with their amazing music - just an amazing performance
They opened for The Eagles? Wow, talk about living in the past. Right now The Eagles should be opening for the, and I’m a fan (somewhat) of The Eagles. This group is hands down the best touring group in the world.
Two Susan Tedeschi guitar solos? Sublime. As much as I'll never get tired of listening to a Derek Trucks solo, the excitement she brought to Anyhow is refreshing. If they ever come to play Downunder, I'll be there.
I'll be right beside you. I don't know if it's a sign of ageing ( almost 54 ) but I can't imagine I'll ever hear or see a better band in my lifetime. Please make your way Down Under soon TTB.
Have never seen Tedeschi Trucks Band but I saw the Allman Brothers Band play the 50th anniversary show at RR back in 2009 with Tedeschi and her playing appears to have gotten light years better since. Either that or she just wasn’t called upon to show off the chops since she was just a guest performer for that show but either way, she rips.
Without question. Who could compare? Not a negative comment , but they have years of intricately working together as a group . I think we would all love to see more rock, blues, jazz fusion groups rise up .
Susan Tedeschi is a premier talent (musical monster) backed by another premier talent Derek Trucks (slide sensation) and one of the best most cohesive backup groups I've ever heard. Listening to these people and realizing their commitment to their profession humbles me in no small way.
Hard to imagine Mr. Truck as 2nd guitar on the charts.....yeah, how could it be? Enter: Ms. T......Oh..... I'll just sit here, with my hands folded....
Statesboro was the Allman Brothers signature song. I was lucky to see them with Duane before he died. Susan and Derek carry the torch. Somewhere Duane is smiling.
Consider yourself very luck as was i back in 1970 when i saw Duane & the original band at RFK Stadium for the fest The Berlin Airlift when Grand Funk was the top bill & lots of local Washing DC bands along with some fairly unknown guys called The Allman Brothers Band , no many folks knew who they were but after the first song everyone there knew who the were !!!! Saw them one other time at American University which to my surprise is now on CD & one show i never thought i would hear again. Best band i've ever seen & at 67 i've seen the greats when they were still new & all those awesome albums that went along with them. Started playing guitar when i was 11 & still play today. Lots of great inspirations & many hours of woodshedding along with 5 years of lessons has got me through life & who knows had i never seen these greats where i would have ended up. I honestly just heard them play a couple of weeks ago on Pandora. I am 65 years old. I love music, grew up on music, my father was a musician, and honestly, I have not heard them before that day that I can think of. What an amazing band and an amazing couple.
The power of their music can leave me speechless and bring me to tears. I’ve been fortunate enough to hear these musicians live only once, but that memory elevates every new opportunity I have to hear them. Thank you, Tedeschi Trucks band!!!
I was at this show and I’d definitely have to say it was in the top 10. That’s saying a lot since I’m 66 and have seen hundreds of concerts also with some amazing stories to follow! Perfect weather at Red Rocks that night and the crowd was into it!
To be able to hear this band at Red Rocks would have been a dream. The Red Rocks venue has been the site for so many great performances over so many years. I spent many days and evenings there in the 60's and 70's. To listen to loved music and then watch the city of Denver slowly light up in the background was a life long experience. Thank you.
Derek actually did a guitar solo with the Allman Bros. Think it was about 1993. He still plays a fair bit with Warren haynes - They are great together.
To walk on the stage cold and get this groove shows ultimate talent and extreme professionalism. Then get Susan to punch out a blistering solo at the end of anyhow is marvelous. Then to rock the house with the classic SBB Trucks showing guitar elevation second to none. WOW😎. The best touring band of our times.
Agree on all of the above. Like Derek did on the 2006 & 2007 Clapton World Tours, they have old tube amps in the dressing room, & warm up for several minutes, as decided at the time, based on the set list, etc., then go out & burn the house down!
Both are incredibly talented musicians. When I lived in Colorado, was able to see some amazing musicians live at Red Rocks. Always left there sunburned, deaf and smiling from ear to ear.
I was at both their Red Rocks shows a couple weeks ago. Saturday was hands down the BEST ever, they were on fire that noght. Starting with Anyhow, I got my money's worth. And then it only got better from there. Every band member gets their turn to shine. Don't miss TTB if/when they're nearby, or travel if they're not. The last few years they've been at Red Rocks the last Friday and Saturday of July. I'll be there again both nights next year! Just the best!
It seems like Red Rocks just brings out the best in everyone who plays there. I dream of catching a show there someday. I've been there but not for a concert and was planning on changing that later this month for My Morning Jacket, but surgery has messed it up. Someday!
Both of the Susan and Derek were so talented and I listened to them since Derek was a kid and Susan's talents were known long ago by those in the know they are legendary
You are witnessing, two wholesome genuine artists, that ever made music ... that found each other, and sure to make history ! I've seen them several times live. What a treat, when I got both autographs on a photo, with their favorite guitars 2019.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Tedeschi Trucks Band!! I've see them every time they come to Philadelphia Pennsylvania and Camden New Jersey and they're OUTSTANDING ALL THE TIME!! I can't wait to see them AGAIN AND AGAIN!! 🥁🎸🪕🎻🎹🎼🎵🎶🎤🎺#RedheadTTBhead
I've had the pleasure and good fortune to see this band three times over the past 15+ years. There is no musician/singer other than Susan that I've enjoyed watching develop and mature. I use the analagy of laying down a case of red wine and every few years opening a bottle to see how it has develpoed, matured and developed. She's soulful, raspy, smooth, tasteful all at the same time. One of a kind.
Susan has grown so much in 15 years, she's killing the vocals, and just channeled SRV AND Johnny Winter in those two songs...wow. And a stank face for the ages ! 😂😂...best live band touring right now!
I’d have to respectfully disagree about the best band touring. They are fantastic no doubt but Blackberry Smoke is absolutely killing it in their shows. Between Charlie Starr and Benji Shanks, the guitar work is unrivaled and the vocals of Charlie Star and harmonies of Paul Jackson are superb. If you haven’t seen BBS live, do yourself a favor and go see them. I know this is all personal opinion so don’t be offended but just my personal opinion. I’ve seen both live multiple times and at the same venue, The Fox Theater in Atlanta, GA.
I saw both bands at a Blues festival in Australia - Both brilliant. I favour Tedeski Trucks - but that's just a personal opinion. Lucky to see them both twice on successive days.@@bks252
@@allanbriggs807 I hear you. I’ve also been lucky enough to see them multiple times. Most of the guys from BBS are from around where I live in Georgia so it’s really cool to go see them here. I guess that could be the reason I favor them and for the Southern Rock and Country influences. They are all great guys and so humble. My local luthier owns a guitar shop in the small town that I live in and he works on Paul Jackson’s guitars and is also a good friend of Benji Shanks (I think I spelled his name correctly). Anyway just a great bunch of guys as I’m sure the Trucks gang is. Nice chatting with you. Music is a great thing that links us all together no matter where we’re from. Cheers from Newnan, GA.
I would never have imagined I would listen to Statesboro Blues 50yrs after buying The Allman Bros. Live at the Fillmore and enjoy it as much. Enjoyed the Tedeschi Trucks Band at The Paramount in Seattle and they are a must see.

Sooooo good! Thanks for posting!!! Everyone should experience a Red Rocks show if they can while in Colorado!
Best band touring out there these days, BAR NONE! ❤
Real music and artist still exist and perform Thank You
Excellent version of anyhow..absolutely love that song..
Both are incredibly talented musicians. When I lived in Colorado, was able to see some amazing musicians live at Red Rocks. Always left there sunburned, deaf and smiling from ear to ear.
That was awesome
Someday!
OMG why have I not heard of this band? Awesome!!!
Now you know
Great band .
Gary - this band has been one of the best jamming bands for the past 10 yrs. Allman Brothers blood / family … go see them live
Both of the Susan and Derek were so talented and I listened to them since Derek was a kid and Susan's talents were known long ago by those in the know they are legendary
does Dickie Betts ever sit in with them?
You are witnessing, two wholesome genuine artists, that ever made music ... that found each other, and sure to make history ! I've seen them several times live. What a treat, when I got both autographs on a photo, with their favorite guitars 2019.
You should be HUGE
Derek does a great job covering Duane . Susan covers Gregg and Dicky just as well
Great!!
Hell ya!!!
They are a revelation live....seen them twice and they deliver....
I lived inNew Haven, CT in the late 80s- early 90s and Susan was the BOMB! She was on the local stations! LOVE HER!
Anyhow is right. I just love your vibe personally and professionally. Total admiration ...
Love her. She has that Bonnie Raitt natural blues swagger.
Goosebumps
@@bks252 👍
@@bks252 cheers from Australia
Oh my god , what a band !!!!!! Honest music .......awesome !!
Statesboro Blues ,Allman Bro;s classic, matched and take it a way from here.
Love Red Rocks! Great place for great music!
I would never have imagined I would listen to Statesboro Blues 50yrs after buying The Allman Bros. Live at the Fillmore and enjoy it as much. Enjoyed the Tedeschi Trucks Band at The Paramount in Seattle and they are a must see.
