One of the reasons Cannabis was made illegal in America was the paper, fuel and other industries fear of hemp. They knew that hemp was extremely versatile and could easily replace their products.

SuperStrik9 not at all. It was brown people. Making it illegal have the people on charge control over the dark people they didnt like. They knew it would get to the suburbs and then their children would open there eyes to a better world view. Oh and I'm a conservative so this wasnt a BLM rant this was what happened. Look up the zoot suit era and Mexican immigration of the time. Right around the time they made Reefer Madness.

In Britain, there is not even a reason in law as to WHY it is illegal.
One of my customers is a lawyer... We had the conversation... He was adamant that there has to be a justification for the law.
I asked him to find it for me... Nope!!! He found nothing. He went VERY quiet instead of having me get one up on his knowledge of British law 😂
      We have a retarded government!!!

I first saw Henry in 1980/81(bit hazy on exactly which of those years) with Black Flag, DK's, and Vancouver's own D.O.A. at the fucking awesome Commodore Ballroom. Since that day I have been following him through his array of projects, and it never fails to amaze me how utterly brilliant and knowledgeable, and what a nice, nice down to earth human being this man is. Love you Henry.

Nice! My first visit to Eugene, OR was a week before this. We played Portland the night before, it was okay. But Eugene? Holy shit do I love Eugene. Maybe the most fun we had at a show on that tour. All ages show, which are becoming rare for us on tour. Packed, everyone was so cool to us. A circle pit involving adults and kids as young as 11. Nobody got hurt, everyone was there for everyone else and they were all there to support the scene. Made me feel like I was at a show in the early '90s. That's a great feeling and I can't wait to get back to Eugene as soon as possible.

As a person who doesn't use cannabis but knows a thing or two about agriculture I have always been a proponent of industrial hemp. It was grown all over the state of Iowa for industrial use during WWII and the plant still grows wild all over the state. It is very hardy and easy to grow with minimal crop inputs and it has so many industrial uses. If a person uses stoicism and logic it makes the study of the facts much easier and I love how Rollins studies his facts before he makes his case pro or con on something. Henry is also right that most people that are cannabis users seem to very nice.

And as always, Henry Rollins just nails it down properly with educated and well thought out facts, with a charm and wit that is truly infectious and incredibly funny. I recognize that my comments are 3 years too late, but what he says resonates to this day and does apply where I live. I had never done cannabis in any shape or form, and refused to condemn anyone who did as it's none of my business. But last June I tried a 9.1% THC Indica pill and my blood pressure regulated within 90 minutes of taking. I am not into smoking and the "duuuuude" lifestyle isn't for me, but I am a convert and I can attest that it works for me in bettering my health, improved sleeping habits and an overall less cynical attitude of life overall.

He might have been harsh in the wording, but actually generalization is pragmatically valid up to some point. You should make any critical decision on such basis, but fairly often you can predict the outcome of an even from statistics and intuitive observation. I'm sure he wasn't trying to be seriously offensive and only made a casual comment. I live in a very Catholic country, and notwithstanding the fact that there's a lot of non-religious people here, I do know what won't be cheerfully received on an open forum. I used to be a Spanish teacher and I got a whole 10-student classroom walk out of the room in turns while I was screening the movie "Day Of The Beast" by Alex de la Iglesia, which is no more than a comedy and doesn't really attack any religious feelings per se.
