- Yay! As of today I have over 4000 subs! Now how many of them will watch this video....?
This is an ensemble I put together with some friends to cover and experiment with the music of the 70s fusion group "Mahavishnu Orchestra". It's very challenging music to play, as it's a mixture of jazz harmony with rock tone and Indian rhythms.
This is a tune off of their debut album "The Inner Mounting Flame". All I can say to describe this tune is that it's HEAVY!
The band is as follows:
Aline Homzy - Violin
Felipe Debastos - Guitar
Andrew Kesler - Keys
Xero FG - Bass
Tristan Henderson - Drums

This is footage from our set at Humber College on Dec. 2/10. It was filmed by my sister Sarah. The audio was edited by Tristan (with pointless suggestions by myself) and I edited the video. Sorry that the colours and brightness are all screwed up, my camera doesn't handle stage lights well :S
Thanks for watching. Feel free to comment, rate and subscribe. Unfortunately, all of my videos are completely different, so if you're looking for continuity, I'm not your man. However, I try and put forth the best product possible, whether it be various styles of music, or playing different instruments. - Hudba
is it just me that thinkss this way or that drumer really is a phenomenun?
AMAZING playing....you get the sound perfectly.....
These folks are Nice !!!
PHEW! What a BLAST!!! Loved it well done all of you......xxx
❤❤❤❤
Fantastic!
Back in the late 70s I put together a Mahavishnu influenced band. I had a Gibson double-neck (the best guitar I ever owned), a great drummer and talented young bass player--no keyboard or violin, which limited us. This brings back so many powerful memories. You guys make these compositions your own. It's interesting how enduring the music of the first Mahavishnu Orchestra is. McLaughlin's playing continued to improve, but the music (except for Shakti) never quite reached that level again.
Love your videos man. Congrats on hitting 4K subscribers. Go go go!
briljant rendering of a great Mahavishnu song. Congrats
Pretty freaking good👍. Applaud the effort here. Super valiant effort! Heavy is an understatement of a description of original member Mahavishnu.
this is fantastic!!
Excellent...greetings from Brazil!!!
Great stuff ... love that electric piano sound, too!
You guys are way cool ! Keep it up
I LOVE listening to this. Who needs vocals anyways? :P
Keep up the great work Andrew, hopefully we will meet someday. Until then both of us shall keep on working on our music skills :)
Amazing... I would love to hear this group play Trilogy, especially the mother of the sea section or whatever it's called.
Im one of your subs who watches all your vids dude!
@AndrewKesler yeah, i hear you.. the things that mean fun to us dont always bring much money.. but as long as you keep it up and reserve some time for having fun, all is good. (=
well, i hope you will keep posting stuff you do and projects of yours, i'll be eagerly waiting.
that was craziness ... i am so glad i watched this ... i was just sitting here practicing getting frustrated as hell then i popped then on and now i am ready to get back to work!!!! thanks for the inspiration .... PS the only tip i would give is that the drummer do a better job complementing the soloist, There were a lot of parts where the soloist was going one way but the drummer kept them from going where they wanted to go ... but overall GERAT performance
Dude I would love to know when you guys do a show again. I would be there for sure.
i would love it if you would do more one man band videos. I absolutely looove product of dk, i'v watched it countless times!
Yowzer yowzer yowzer
Not the true crew but really, really good!
This song reminds me of a song called Variations on a Bloodline by Brian Blade
Good soloing Andrew :)
Wow i really dont know how you connected brian blade and mahavishnu, i know the song nut you made me smile in a good way
This is awesome! Is this group still together? I'd love to come to a show
do you guys plan on doing what you do professionally? I mean this ensemble. Or is it just a hobby? (one time consuming one if it is so, cause playing jazz/fusion together isnt the easiest thing timing-wise (; )
but either way, you guys are just sublime. (= i've been playing guitar myself for 9 years now, and i can appreciate the kind of work each one of you is putting into sounding this clean and nice. just amazing. definitely keep it up!
Here's a thumb up from 1/4006th of your subscribership for your non-continuity of style/genre.
I really enjoyed listening to this. For me, trying to play in odd times such as 5/4 or 7/4 is very, VERY difficult. 9/8 time isn't easy, either, but I just break it up into groups of 3 beats, which helps me to simplify the rhythm in my mind. It flows along well, IMO.
vin diesel on guitar!!! :D:D
