I was literally 7 years old when I played this game. Any time I play it or listen to its music I get super emotional! My brother who was younger than me would always be the star bit collector. This is my favorite Mario title and will always have a special place in my heart. Love the video and ya the gravity stuff takes a bit of getting used to lol.
It's no secret that mario games are happy.
But the fact that Nintendo were able to include this sad sombre story with the loneliness of space is amazing.
As a kid play this for the first time i was flabbergasted

the slingshot thing in the terrace and using the wii remote sensor to catch star bits was REVOLUTIONARY at the time…..!! and overall anything involving using the physical wii remote to interact with the world on the screen. it truly is so nostalgic and was soooo fun as a kid!

I'm 20 and I remember playing this on the Wii when it came out! Such a great game, one of my favorite 3D Mario games if not my favorite. It's pretty even with Super Mario Sunshine which is also such a great game! You should play it next. :)

as for the camera… a lot of levels are pretty straightforward and do allow you to control the camera. i loved those 3d ones too where u walk all around but they do hurt my head after a while 😭 i think if you focus on mario it helps with the nauseating camera angles 😭😭

Also, crouching with Z and then pressing A makes you jump really high, and spinning at the peak of your jump will give you a bit more height
I use Super Mario 64 Plus on PC which has better camera controls which may make it easier for you. The camera is one setback of 64. But it was an original of the 3d style. So it was one of the main curves they had to learn from. Super Mario World on SNES will always be my all time favorite Mario game.

No the gravity doesn't change lol and yes you're the only one who thinks it's weird so if you don't like it don't play galaxy. But i personally love it to death and think it's very creative and fun. Odyssey to me was very boring at times and sometimes would shove references and callbacks way too often into your face. Galaxy is such a calming and beautiful game and will always be my favorite 3d Mario. But i recommend you try 3d world i think you would like it. Also remember that Super mario 64 was made in 1996... so ofc the controls are going to be weird it's one of the first 3d games ever made.
