Excellent video. Very interesting to see some DSs and a Traction made in the English factory at Slough.

The finest car ever made. There's getting to your destination, and there's arriving at your destination. With a DS you arrive.

Music is the soundtrack from the David Hamilton's movie "Bilitis". It was composed and played by french musician Francis Lai

Such a wonderful car of the time. My first car at 16 was a 1960 Peugeot 403. I would have rather had be able to own a Citroen DS at the same time. Quirky looking, possibly, but seems to me now quite elegant French in design and execution. I thought the suspension was quite novel and it really worked! Cannot even imagine what a pre-owned Citroen DS or DSII would cost nowadays.

Probably the only “concept/dream” car available for the masses in all automotive history. Industry - including Citröen - never learned the lesson.

Anyone know the intro instrumental music, I'm guessing jean michel jarre as it's a french but sounds more Vangelis. Love the DS! Thanks for posting

Does anyone know when this series originally ran from? I think the first series was in 1994, but looking up the dates/years of the rest of the series comes up with pretty much nothing; episode details on imdb and other sites come up with very little information on which episodes are which, with information on dates as being listed as "unknown". According to imdb, the series aired in 1994, 95, 97, 98 & 99, with an additional series in 2009, the latter series lists one episode which featured the VW Beetle. I do not recall ever seeing this series on TV in 2009, unless of course the later series were only shown on a pay-per-view Sky/Cable channel. I find the inaccuracy of this show to be odd considering it was a mainstream and popular BBC TV series at the time.

@@cutworm59 it is not the same the classic disc brakes, and the citroen ds disc brakes that are connected to hydraulics. The citroen ds disc brakes connected to hydraulics are much stronger than the classic disc brakes.I know personally from my experience. The point isnt just disc brakes and who invented them, and first got them.

well how dare did the narrator (a black or maybe african american) calling his citroen ds, "imelda," named after the former philippine dictator ferdinand marcos's wife. it doesn't give justice to the car, where both subjects were completely different and opposite, if he calls his car fabulous. what a shame.
