Hope you all have a great trip down! I think the key is to leave as early in the morning as possible to hit Nashville, Chattanooga, and Atlanta early(ish) in the day. We left at 4amCST and didn’t have any traffic hold-ups. Devin does 99% of our driving, but if he’s tired, he’ll ask Lacey to drive. Also, Lacey’s rule is no eating or drinking allowed for the first three hours. Then you’ll be ready for a bathroom break at the same time as needing gas! The Buc-ees just passed Chattanooga is slightly quieter than the one closer to Florida, and for us, lines up with that first bathroom/gas break! Hope you all have so much fun!
It saves us around $1K each time we go down! We also love having our own car and not having to worry about packing with weight limits and whatnot. We’re in Bowling Green, so we’d have to drive over an hour to get to an airport. Also, with flights being cancelled and delayed so often these days, we love being in control of our travel day and not being stranded in an airport.
@@bellsindisney That makes sense. For us it takes about 15 minutes to get to the airport and the flight is less than 2 hours. We have been pretty lucky with flights not getting delayed and if we are there for more than a couple days it is cheaper to take the Mears shuttle than rent a car. So depending on how early we show up at the airport we can be out our door and in the park 4-5 hours later. (Plus most of the time it is just the 2 of us so we pay for one less ticket)
This is so wholesome!!! My family also goes to Disney a lot and the Polynesian is hands down the best :)
The Poly is DEFINITELY the best!
Funny, actually doing this from Louisville Saturday night! Any good advice for two drivers and how often we should switch off?
Also in a CRV lol

We are in the Louisville area (also DVC and AP). I'm curious why you choose to drive rather than fly.
