Not to mention he has an amazingly intriguing voice.
Völundr Frey That may be well enough true. I generally love Graham Norton - when he's NOT trying to be funny. Yes! I was watching and just kept saying (louder and louder) "Why is he touching her?! Why is he touching her?!" And then I scrolled down, and am glad so many others thought the same thing :)
hes kinda a creepy guy. maybe you guys dont remember, but he was kinda kicked out of india for being somewhat inapropriate with a 16 year old bollywood star.
We've all noticed creepy richard. This show is taped, shortened and edited several days before airing... If this is what we noticed, imagine how much they had left out?
For anyone debating the Richard Gere Saoirse moment, she was asked about it on a local Irish Radio interview and all she said was “there was a lot of back rubbing” then she side-stepped the hosts convo about how he’d just split with his young Brazilian wife at the time then said “yeah there was a lot of back rubbing... it was fine”. She also mentioned that Malkovich and Gere were already in the Green room, in deep convo, when she arrived so she didn’t go in and interrupt. Therefore she didn’t know either person, the only actor she did complement was John on the radio interview, and she did kind of intimate the “lot of back rubbing” was odd for her. I thought maybe he was talking to John behind her back, maybe fixing her top, maybe wanted to get her attention about something, but all she walked away from that interview aware of was that a man she did not know was rubbing her back a lot. That’s just not ok people. When you add the very confident, somewhat as* attitude towards even the host, it comes across aggressive not just unaware
I think Richard Gere is known to be a bit of a creep. I recall Winona Ryder also making unfavourable comments about him back when they did a movie together.
Yeah I think most of us feel she didn't appreciate whatever he was doing. But 100% going to find this interview you're talking about. I love that She and Graham are both irish, I wish they talked about that more. Her.... Irish Accent.... is so endearing!!! She can do no wrong. I saw Hannah when it first came out and neeeever made the connection that, that was her until they showed a pic on this show. She's literally the best. Yeah at one point, I did think he was trying to get her attention but for sure was a strange way to do it.
I just love Taylor's energy, so bubbly, adorable and funny. She looks Beautiful too! Also learned from the comments not a lot of ppl like Richard Gere lol
Just because you didn't see what 90% of everyone else saw doesn't make it projection... It just wasn't what you saw. And that's ok but I mean if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck and everyone on here swears it's a duck... Maybe it's worth wondering if it's a duck... @@anitawebster9450

Saoirse is so done with being touched by the creepy old man that she tries to get Taylor to come sit next to her. She's got as much room as possible between her and him. All these people in the comments saying no such thing happened: So every single one of us that independently saw it, was revolted, and then came to the comments to discuss it... we're the ones that are blind?

JonBenait06 nah i didn't see that movie yet bro but i think i'm gonna have to agree with you i mean no offence to the fans but i think richard gere really likes to creep young girls lol
+JonBenait06 You should. That's a disgusting and possibly incarcerated worthy way of thinking. Not incarcerated in jail but like a mental institute to keep you away from the teenagers.
I can see why you prefer girls to women. It's quite obvious from your comments that older and wiser women would have too much good sense to sleep with you. Probably you can't get laid by anyone who can actually read and string a basic, grammatically correct sentence together.
Young girls???? She's 19 in this show (now 22). That's a woman in anyone's book. A 'young' girl is perhaps 9 or younger; 'girl' until post puberty. Unless you're a middle aged or older woman, then anyone younger than yourself is a 'young girl' in order to try to shame any man who wants anyone younger than herself.
@54v115 and @AndrewG - I know! what is cringeworthy about it? He knows he is loved by his fans. Also, I saw the entire show but not once did I notice Richard being inappropriate with Saoirse. He was sitting so far away from her. They only sat close when Taylor Swift joined them. what are people talking about? I had to watch the show twice to check but nothing.
nah, not really. this is just your imagination, really she clearly looks to see how far back the couch back is before putting her elbow on it .. because she looks to the left -- whereas Richard is sitting on her right
These comments are unbelievable. Why are people always looking for the negative. Richard Gere was funny, friendly and very personable, and he is recognized by many around the world. People love the movies he played in. Let’s stop the hateful comments.
+Dracopticon He's being a creep and is just another older man who is being very inappropriate to a younger woman. There's nothing new here to learn, it happens all the time IRL.
"... being very inappropriate to a younger woman" - You know, I am myself 52 years of age and can say that my latest 5 and a half year relationship was with a gorgeous 22 year younger girl. So I know all about society's way of looking at "inappropriate attention" from an older man. The years we had together was a bliss, and I dare say for us both. It was her younger friends who in the end told her "no you can't be in a relationship with an older man" that very much made it end. That is TRUE meddling and messing where they have no business at all.
Seeing this interview 7 years later I can say I’ve never seen Saoirse act this way. She’s usually very down to earth and fun to be around. Richard was being a creep and made her feel uncomfortable.
@Thisis Fun are you secretly Richard Gere, or are you just defending him cause you do the same thing to women without caring you make them uncomfortable? Cause i really can’t tell from the 100 comments you wrote. Lmao men have one thing and its the audacity

It is an Irish name. You cannot pick and choose how you want to say it.. Otherwise the whole meaning of the word is something else.. It means Freedom in the native tongue.. If ppl cannot be bothered to pronounce it correctly then simply use the translation. "Freedom"
Orlaith316...and may I ask just which different dialect that might be ? According to the authoritive Foras na Gaeilge website at www.teanglann.ie/en/fuaim/saoirse the pronunciation in all 3 major dialects is "eer". This sound does not rhyme with inertia which would be "air" as she claims, so she is incorrect.

Speculation could say she's irritated or she was just now itchy. Throughout the video, Saoirse sat closer and leaned more toward John. I also noticed that Richard doesn't go near her voluntarily after Taylor's performance. We can imagine that he was warned. However, she is the only one that can say whether she felt offended or victimized. My money is on Saoirse. She's Irish and has had martial arts training. She can fuck anyone up that tried to push her. I can say what I would feel like in her situation but that would be my feelings and not hers. I don't like being touched without my consent but I also take into consideration others intent 25%.

@@loonylinn8824 As soon as Graham said the words 13 years old!
08:28
What was Richard doing there with his hand.... like why, WhY, WHYYY?!! It made me uncomfortable, poor Saoirse.
ikr just watching this through a screen I was like "get away from her dude!"
Yeah it was creepy... I was like have some class dude
At the precise moment it was mentioned she was 13 back when...
John Malkovich is great though, as is Saoirse Ronan.
I thought maybe he was talking to John behind her back, maybe fixing her top, maybe wanted to
get her attention about something, but all she walked away from that interview aware of was that a man she did not know was rubbing her back a lot. That’s just not ok people. When you add the very confident, somewhat as* attitude towards even the host, it comes across aggressive not just unaware
I don't understand, sorry, just want to know in radio interview is she feel uncomfortable with Gere or not?
@@dddddd5960 she definitely did. But in Hollywood you can't call out huge A listers like Richard Gere without jeapordizing your career :/
Right? I feel like I watched a very different episode than many people in here. 🙄 Talk about projection! 😆
She was lip syncing the whole time and very poorly, I might add.
@@RussiaIsARiddle778 she never lipsyncing lol
Just because you didn't see what 90% of everyone else saw doesn't make it projection... It just wasn't what you saw. And that's ok but I mean if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck and everyone on here swears it's a duck... Maybe it's worth wondering if it's a duck... @@anitawebster9450
I don't think she was... I don't know what she normally does but she almost seemed out of key on the first couple of words... Which I expect in the beginning of live performances... Which is why I assumed she wasn't lip syncing... coulda been tho who knows@@RussiaIsARiddle778
Yeah, Gere was defo being an auld nonce here.
especially when graham brings up her being 13 at her first oscars and he proceeds to reach over and flirtatiously stroke her arm while biting his lip 🤢🤮
@@jennym7786 I thought he meant it sweetly as in good for you doing so well at 13. I just don't see him as creepy, he's one of my favorites.
Love John there in the middle looking at Saoirse and Talylor endearingly and awkwardly while they're talking... He's so cute
John has a future in stand up, he just have to answer any question and it turns into a new material everytime.
I need Taylor and Saoirse to hang out
That was a strong cosby vibe there, mr Richard.
I thought Saoirse and Taylor together were very sweet.
I hope Taylor, Saoirse and Kelly hung out together after the show ☺️☺️
I love her Irish accent!
richard gere is really creeping on saoirse ronan man lol
JonBenait06 nah i didn't see that movie yet bro but i think i'm gonna have to agree with you i mean no offence to the fans but i think richard gere really likes to creep young girls lol
+JonBenait06
You should. That's a disgusting and possibly incarcerated worthy way of thinking. Not incarcerated in jail but like a mental institute to keep you away from the teenagers.
+WixkedLovy Nothing mentally ill about older men preferring women at their hottest age.
I love seeing Graham!! He is always good for a laugh!
Does anybody else watched this just to hear Soirse Ronan talk?
John Malkovich is So Funny! And one of the best actors ever, by the way.
I wish the late night shows in the states were like this. It's just a 5 minute interview with someone and then they're gone.
SHE IS STUNNING !! and so composed
jesus...that little walk around the crowd by richard gere was cringeworthy...but not quite as cringeworthy as his fawning over saoirse
Cringeworthy for you maybe - but not for his fans... you need a little context in your thoughts...
way was it cringe worthy?
@54v115 and @AndrewG - I know! what is cringeworthy about it? He knows he is loved by his fans. Also, I saw the entire show but not once did I notice Richard being inappropriate with Saoirse. He was sitting so far away from her. They only sat close when Taylor Swift joined them. what are people talking about? I had to watch the show twice to check but nothing.
If he saw her with no makeup, the lastbthing he would do is fawn
She's hardly wearing any make-up in this video....you TROLL!
i love the way everyone noticed when he was touching her back at 8:30 but not when she clearly looks back at his hand before sitting back at 41:31
Wth that was even creepier
nah, not really. this is just your imagination, really
she clearly looks to see how far back the couch back is before putting her elbow on it
.. because she looks to the left -- whereas Richard is sitting on her right
This was the best GNS, I have seen!!! Thanks for posting :)
This Taylor Swift performance was great!
How can you not love Saoirse. Beautiful, amazingly talented and that accent
These comments are unbelievable. Why are people always looking for the negative. Richard Gere was funny, friendly and very personable, and he is recognized by many around the world. People love the movies he played in. Let’s stop the hateful comments.
Love to see Saoirse and Taylor together.. but Mr Gere's action is so annoying.. such a creep! good thing Hanna didnt punch him!
Yeah, too bad Mr. Gere was there, loving the attention a bit too much and the others were much more funny and interesting.
+eleyisme Yeah "how dare he", Mr. Gere is such "a creep". Please just learn a bit about life please.
+Dracopticon He's being a creep and is just another older man who is being very inappropriate to a younger woman. There's nothing new here to learn, it happens all the time IRL.
Yeah, because you definitely live in the real world, not your mom's basement, lit only by the flickering light of some shitty gaming rig.
"... being very inappropriate to a younger woman" - You know, I am myself 52 years of age and can say that my latest 5 and a half year relationship was with a gorgeous 22 year younger girl.
Saoirse looks uncomfortable next to Gere.
Malkovich is hilarious!
Malkovich stories are my fav ASMR now
Saoirse and Taylor! 👏 I need more of them 💗
I, of course, don't dislike Taylor swift but I would never ask to hear one of her songs and even I'd like to see more interaction.
Thanks so much for posting.
@@user-mt5ed7jp4q As a woman myself who have faced creepy behavior all my life, I fail to see any creepiness here. I have watched the show several times just to check what you all are talking about. Zilch! People are reading too much into it.
@@busimagen Nope.
@@Jasmine_Sangma It's clear as day at 08:30, she is very uncomfortable and ends up sitting further away from him as the night goes on, and leans away from him too. 99% of the comments say it was creepy, so if you don't "get it" then that's an issue with you.

richard gere is so full of himself, i felt disgusted watching this. john malkovich, legend.

Really well done, ev'ry single video. Graham is one of the best...who or what ever in internet. CIAO
Why is Gere stroking her back at 8:33?? She looks scared.
More like "WTF IS HE DOING"
Isn't Graham actually ordering him to "feel" (her) at 8:26?!
Lubbylove89 she doesn't give a fuck
Yeah. Wouldn't surprise me if allegations about him surface soon.
Im convinced he creeped her out backstage because her whole body language/face/choice of words screams loathing.
john malkovich! got to love that man, such a talent!
Richard Gere needs to stay away from Saoirse Ronan she's a gift from the gods not a gerbil !
Richard Gere is a knob, John Malkovich is a legend.

My favorite red chair story ever! It's worth going to the end of the video just to see it.
I usually love Graham's show, but I was just pissy through this one. I had an intense desire to introduce my fist to Richard Gere's face the whole time.

John's story about the woman in the garden is comedy gold...

CHEERS. Arohanui ❤😊
If anyone's interested, the way Saoirse pronounces her name is just a different dialect. The name can be pronounced Seer-sha OR Sair-sha.
That is good to know, thankyou!
I always wondered if it's like cheers, chair or church.
THANK YOU! As a Gaeilgeoir and linguist, I’m *perpetually* trying to explain this concept to people...!
I wonder if Richard Gere is in the same club as Harvey Weinstein
Uri Nation It wouldn’t surprise me. If he does that sort of thing live on TV to a celebrity god knows what he does behind closed doors to women of lower standing.
Leave richard alone, asshole
You’re incredibly delusional and what you said was 10000% false

Oh I think so ....even if he's done nothing else but creepily touch young Saorise , his creepy mind, those actions alone put him there - disgusting #TimesUp #metoo
Saoirse Ronan is totally awesome ,first saw her in in Hanna and loved it.
I just love listening to John Malkovich. It's beyond my control.
8:12 Saoirse pity giggles as John,Graham and the audience openly laughs at Gere's story
8:19 She says "but you are probably talented the most because you didn't get nominated?"
8:22 Graham "oh, you look at that. Every cloud. Every cloud."
Richard smiles and looks at Graham, the audience and then Saoirse. She makes a smiling impish frown one does as a child caught being cute but doesn't want to be seen as such.
8:27 Graham "but then, but feel - Saoirse, you were 13, *13 years old* , when you were nominated
8:30 Gere literally feels Saoirse's back
8:31 Saoirse rigidly nods with a curt " mm" and eyes squint
8:35 she's nodding, eyes close, blink and then opens looking at Graham
8:38 Graham "pop on your frock off you go" ; she gives a short laugh
8:52 Saoirse scratches her side.

He did it a couple years later with a other actrice or singer..
This is the most uncomfortable GNS I have ever seen. Richard Gere is just so rude to Graham.
Your show is the bestest!!!❤
richard gere was so annoying.
Loved S in The Lovely Bones, as for John he is one of the finest actors out there. Love every film he has been in. Compelling in Dangerous Liasons especially. Neither were given enough air time, which was rather insulting.
Never heard of Dangerous Liasons. I'll look into it. Thanks for the suggestion

Welcome to the Richard Gere show... I'm sorry... but you have JOHN EFFING MALKOVICH on your stage and your are focused on Gere??? Something very wrong with priorities here... JM is one of Hollywood's most INTERESTING people and you just snubbed him for the most arrogant bore imaginable. Amazing.
Just what I was thinking...
More or less my thoughts. There is one beside Mister Gere with much more talent and reputations.
Andrea Bell He's focusing on who the general public knows. Everyone knows pretty woman. You'd have to be a movie nerd to remember the artistic movies of the John Malkovich. Plus, Graham knows his guests. He knows Malkovich doesn't like a fuss while the other one's ego needs a lot of stroking.
