This man is the nightmare of tech companies and I love it 😀
Shines his blacklight strobe on their dirty sheets. Nobody safe
Not really
He ignores the most important part of how colors on displays will look like to the eye.
@@thebossnocompetition8757 The most important part is when you pay a few grand for a new tv, you expect it to be up to spec, which it wasn't in this case.
@@thebossnocompetition8757 You have no idea what are you talking about. This guy and his all channel it's focused on LG and Sony stuff and basically it's trashing Samsung everytime has the occasion. You are talking about specs without realizing that every brand has shady specs on their stuff and nothing it's really what it's looking like.
Haha ,apsofrickenlootly😅

Utterly stupendous imho

That's dedication😂like a pilgrimage 😅
would he do the same if it was LG...???
When flying to New York and going to Best Buy is cheaper than buying a US tv to investigate. Vincent is the man! Great work.
Plus you don't have to waste space for another sku.
He could have mailed his tester to a colleague in America and had them run it. Save a lot of time and money.
A lot of personal attention and personal commitment......that the reason why we all basically watch Vincent over all the other reviewers on youtube....right...Great job ,Vincent. keep up the good work!!

Not only flying, but flying in first class
This is why I will never buy another TV blind until Vincent reviews it. The level of detail and comprehensive information about the pros and cons is why he is the master. Thank you for helping us consumers to have as full a picture as possible before we purchase ❤
Hehe i see what you did there. 😂
you need vincent and rtings to see proper reviews for tvs
I kinda feel like the opposite is true, that I DON'T want to see Vincents review of a TV I just bought. Like I'd be perfectly happy with the new TV and then I'd learn from Vincent that there are a bunch of things it doesn't do quite right, and I'd be left thinking I should have waited for the next models to come out. :sigh:
@@scottb3154 Well that's why you wait for the review BEOFRE you buy it ;)
This man is more committed to his TV testing than I am with my wife.
Than testing your wife?

I'll test your wife's bandwidth.

Vincent is the Michael Jordan of TV calibration and reviews. I and many others appreciate this dedication to technical reviews. We love you!!
I've watched countless reviews of this TV, pretty much every key one on YouYube. None, and I mean none, match how comprehensive yours is Vincent. One of the biggest benefits as viewers, besides the detailed analysis, is you having the Sony HX310 reference monitor to compare to. So whilst other reviewers are merely guessing on accuracy and whether or not these TV'e are accurately brighter/more colourful, or instead simply more exaggerated, you're able to not just tell, but show us. It's such a fundamental difference, and stays true to the pursuit of accuracy above all else. Thank you good Sir.
Your reviews are so thorough, totally blown away by them. Thank you
Love your videos, you're the goat of tv reviews. One recommendation I have is testing the motion resolution in different BFI modes like at times you do in your reviews. The reason I say this, what may be too dark for you may be tolerable/fine for someone else, so knowing motion resolution of different BFI levels helps a lot. Always appreciate your reviews Vincent.
I absolutely love your dedication. Thank you for your hard work.
You're a true champ Vincent. Doing what has to be done and taking a quick side-trip to another continent in the name of thoroughness in testing! Never stop 🙂
Vincent, yet again, with a scoop that other reviewers didn't pick up on.
Vincent really goes the extra (air) miles to deliver the best videos. 👏
Wow! You have always been on point. Thanks for your work.
This guy is the absolute GOAT. His ability to just go so in-depth on all things about televisions is incredible. Not to mention his tenacity is unmatched. He should probably be working for the CIA or whatever government agency he's eligible for. Dude is relentless I love it lmao
and he throws those subtle jokes like an assassin
Vincent you are without a doubt the very best online reviewer. Thanks for another great review.
Vincent is always catching these sneaky manufactuers . He never assumes and just test everything Love it and people question this man integrity and his ability .
But shame on rtings. Wtf is that about.......😢. I guess they dont have a tester for that or just missed it.
Thanks Vincent.

Big like that you flew to US to confirm yourself. Amazing review as always - well actually even more amazing!
Thanks for all your efforts Vincent..... including the plane trip ;)
9:08 This is the answer to people saying "this much nits will blind you, you don't need brighter panels". Being able to sustain a much brighter 100% window is beneficial to be able to compensate from the brightness loss of BFI or other flicker/strobing, which, when implemented correctly at least, has extremely beneficial effects for motion clarity of 60fps and below content.
BFI is the main thing I miss now that I've switched to OLED. It was perfect on my Sony LCD but now I feel I have to have a trade-off when it comes to motion.
@@RH-nk7eo BFI was the one the of the biggest upgrades when I switched to OLED. The LGC1 specifically.
You could open up the connect box and see what HDMI Chipset they are using.

Thankyou Vincent for the review, you have succeeded in putting me off this model unless it's becomes dirt cheap later in the year.
S95C is on discount quite often. I bought a 65" S95C for 1519 a couple of weeks ago direct from Samsung, it's one amazing TV

Great Video. Have the S95C 77 inch. Tv is amazing. Noticed the black outs sometimes when using series X. Also have not connected it to the internet, so not sure if update will fix that. Tv gets crazy bright and looks amazing in person. Was this or the G3 and i chose the S95C.
Just the fact that overscan is still a thing in 2023 is pathetically sad.

This man’s dedication in reviewing TVs is truly something. I’m glad I watched his videos before purchasing my Sony A90J a couple of years back. No regrets with my purchase.
I find it hard to believe you flew to the US just do a 5 min test. But you are a baller and thorough, so I wouldn’t be surprised either. :)
Looking forward to seeing your comparison of the Samsung S95C to the same panel in the Sony 2023 model. The Sony video processor, algorithms, HDMI controller chip, and user selectable options could potentially eliminate all of the negatives mentioned in this review of the Samsung while retaining all the positives of the same QD-OLED panel.
Having bought an rtx 4090 it's actually annoying to know that this monitor can't support 4k 144hz even though it's advertised as such. These companies need to be held accountable for false advertising
Thats why avoid samsung. They are known for marketing not based on facts.

Ha, they both look great. But the high rider pants bug the hell out of me! I want to pull the pants down on the US... lol. Just enough to not look like a 60 year old grandma.
Finally, at least I know I'm not crazy since the 144hz doesn't work for me with my 4090. 120hz always works. Also dolby atmos seems to have issues with my pc and this tv as well. I wonder if samsung would replace the one connect box with a 48 gbps version since they stated that this TV is 144hz compliant and it obviously is not.
Works perfectly on my 3090 4K 144hz 10bit
Even as someone who can get 144hz to work, but only under very specific circumstances, this is a real kick in the gut. I'm convinced that had they not cheaped out on these ports and gone full bandwidth, this would just work - for everyone. I am very disappointed.
@@ReflexArc Works for me no compromise

Nice review Vincent. But you could’ve just called Jason at Murideo. Lol
Too little too late. Already got a 77G3. I like Samsung Display's QD-OLED panels, but Samsung Electronic's actual TVs are bottom tier for out-of-box settings and no dolbyvision.

If anybody wants to get rid of most of the clunkiness in the home menu, disable Samsung TV Plus. Go to the icon, hold the select button, choose remove, then disable and it is a lot smoother.
Horrific news about the S95C, might explain why my video is frequently cutting out when I'm playing high framerate games on PC, quick black screen every 5 minutes or so. I'll lower it to 120hz and see if it gets rid of the problem but I just plugged in my Series X and the same thing was happening though, but less frequent and shorter black screens.
I've never had a issue on my series x or ps5. Runs flawlessly so I doubt it's due to only 40gps limitation. On pc it might be though
could the periodic quick black screen be the pixel shifting for oled protection?
@@grumpyragdoll2640 No, unrelated to pixel shift that I have turned off, and when I say quick black screen, it's 5-10 seconds on PC (with the TV even putting up a loading circle) and 3-5 seconds on Xbox. I'll take a video of it tonight but unfortunately can't find an example online even though I've seen hundreds of comments with the same issue.
It still hasn't happened while using internal apps or USB, so it doesn't seem to be an issue with the One Connect cable. Going to test turning off Game Mode tonight to see if it is an HDMI issue or game mode only issue. And then will adjust refresh rates and settings from there. Haven't seen TV experts really weigh in on this, but hoping I can find a workaround.
@@ScottJ2024 You might wanna try disabling VRR on your HDMI connected for that PC since it's having trouble switching to a particular higher frame rate game mode. This is similar to some new gen console and LED/OLED HDR Tvs.
@@linja3946 Yeah, that was on my list, I disabled Gsync from the Nvidia control panel but kept everything else the same, and I'm not getting blackouts. That would explain why I also got black screens from my Xbox considering that's a 40gbps device but has VRR, and why it's only happening in games and not when I'm scrolling around in Windows at 4K144hz. So S95C does appear to be capable of 4K144hzHDR gaming, but no VRR even at 120hz, as I still got blackouts. Can't tell if it's a software issue or hardware issue, but if it's been an issue with One Connect Box TVs for years like I'm reading, then I won't get my hopes up.
I only got the 77S95C because of a massive discount that made it cheaper than the 77S90C, but I'm regretting not waiting for a good deal on that. Hopefully broken VRR is the only problem and is fixable, but with Samsung's firmware history, I'm not optimistic.
Are you planning on reviewing either the samsung qn95c or the sony x95L ? Would love to see how they compare to OLED and hear your full detailed thoughts on them since usually its hard to trust anyone else (at least for me personally, you're my go to)
Thank you for the amazing content!
One question, given the reduced HDMI bandwidth, would my capable pc be able to display 4k 120hz at 4:4:4 with 10 bit colour depth on S95c?
Vincent showing RTINGS the meaning of thoroughness
RTINGS made an update. It is blaming a test equipment malfunction for a false 48 Gbps test result. It has retested and now agrees with Mr. Teoh’s test result of 40 Gbps.
Wow another comprehensive detailed techical tour de force by Vincent! Thank you! It seems the folks at RTings need to take a class in how to measure HDMI ports.
Wow flying to the US to find you are the man , Samsung and lg both have got caught lying about 48 gigabytes on some of there tvs. Great job Vincent.
RTINGS made an update. It is blaming a test equipment malfunction for a false 48 Gbps test result. It has retested and now agrees with Mr. Teoh’s test result of 40 Gbps. I found no Samsung official material about the S95C being capable of 48 Gbps, so I can’t agree with a charge of false advertising for now.
The effort... Vincent remains the best TV reviewer

I am going to tell you as it is.
DV for gaming is bliss, I play BFV online with my SX and 4K 120HZ is a must for competitiveness.
You're able to convey much more detail, specifically clouds when flying, so when you're in an AA, you can see planes better, when you're in a plane, you just see everything much better.
It may not mean much but it is a game changer and does bump your game play.

I heard this year’s Samsung TVs have added restrictions on retail mode usage. I watched one of the videos from the TV Dan channel and saw that it’s only possible to select retail mode when first setting up the TV and access the built-in demo content.
When selecting the usage mode in the settings menu, if you select ‘home mode’ in the usage mode option it will be greyed out and you can’t change it unless you reset the TV to factory default. I’m not sure why they would add this restriction.
No you can use retail anytime you want
@@NexGenTek Yeah I think so. Could be restricted on specific regional models like in the UK. I’m not sure if my local variant [I’m based in Singapore] can switch between store demo and home use anytime during use. I haven’t see it in person in retail stores.

The fact that the Best Buy employees helped him to set up his strange box to check if it has the high gigabit thing on the HDMI port surprises me
TLDR… even Rtings can’t be trusted with factual/objective stats about the TV, but Vincent can!
Rtings just copy/paste everything from previous year models review and just change the odd bits
@@Capricorn_IVThe "odd bits" being the actual measurements? Come on, dude. Rtings' credibility is constantly put to the test for a variety of reasons, but it's delusional to mislabel their review format as "copy-pasting".

Nerfs are nothing new, Samsung is been doing this for a long time. I noticed since 2016. I don't care if only PC owners are affected they are nerfing something I paid for.
Every company nerfs stuff, LG did it with dts and hdmi ports at only 40gps with previous models
@@Capricorn_IV Well I don't know that 100% because the only one I have only confirmed is with Samsung because is the only brand I have own.
Think Panasonic only brand I seen not downgrade but also less market and niche so can’t afford these mistakes.
Hisense I can’t personally say how does it but “updates” are business as usual like so much electronic.
Could you investigate the intermitten signal dropout during gaming on the s95c as reported by users on avsforum?
Had to return my Samsung Q95T (2020) a few years back due to HDMI 2.1 not working with my RTX 3080, kinda sad how people are still running into problems when it comes to HDMI 2.1.
Tried 2 separate PCs with 3080's when I had that Q95T btw, and 4 different HDMI 2.1 cables.
Got myself an LG G1 after that which luckily worked without any issues.
Just got an S95C. On my Onkyo RZ50 receiver, initially it limits bandwidth to 18GBPS for all HDMI ports-- I believe this is the 4K Enhanced setting. This was causing HDMI sync issues on my Series X, PS5 and Apple TV as all were trying to use more bandwidth. I then set this to the 48GBPS setting (8K Enhanced) which also caused HDMI sync issues. Finally, I remembered this video where Vincent mentioned the S95C only supports 40GBPS. So I changed the setting in the receiver to 40GBPs (8K Standard) and now everything works without issue. I still get the occasional blip in the HDMI signal maybe once every 6-8 hours of viewing, but I think it might be more related to the HDMI cables I have than any issues with the TV or Receiver.
That explains people reporting blackouts in 4k 120 and 144hz..... shame

@@NexGenTek that’s not for all panels. Mine wasn’t the best out of the box but after 25 hours my uniformity is 100% fine. My Sony A8h which is an lg panel after 7000 hours is totally fine
Isn’t there a low setting in dejudder or deblur that lightly smooths 24fps or 60fps with no SOE? Or do u just get soap or artifacts no matter how low?
@@sduke802 I found that you could use the Judder setting of 0-2 and you would not have SOE or artifacts. Once you went above that though these came into play. Sometimes the motion was ok and then other times it felt like it was stuttering in a weird way and almost screen tearing, dropping frames I guess is what I was seeing but I know that this isn't a problem on Sony sets for myself or LG. I'm probably sensitive to it since I'm used to how other brands process motion on OLED
Vincent question for you mate. Is there a range of nits where the colour looks the truest rather then more artificial boost that's given to them with pixel engines. I'm the market to buy a new OLED so looking at all flagship G3 , Phillips 809 etc
Isn't there a diminishing return factor here? It keeps getting brighter and brighter but wouldn't that make the ABL more aggressive (unless disabled)?
I just got a Samsung S95B 2022 QD OLED and I love the TV. I caught a great sale and I am glad I pulled the trigger to buy one. They only had about 7 tv's for sale and now they are all gone. I don't believe in that crap about people being hesitant to buy a previous year tv especially if the tv is one of the best tvs of that year. S95B was one of the best tvs in 2022. It's a new tv to me as far as I am concerned. 😊😊😊

Vincent, what premium TV should I buy this year for my Playstation 5, in the end?
"Most people should refrain from using this TV as a PC monitor due to triangle subpixel layout".
- I have been using 55" A95K QD-OLED with this same triangular layout as a PC monitor for 10 months now. Color fringing is actually completely invisible unless I lean in uncomfortably close. My eyes are normally 120 cm from the screen, and I have to come as close as 75 cm before I am able to notice it, and I have perfect eyesight. Closest I sit to the screen at times is 90cm, and at that point I still don't notice any fringing, and text looks normal and perfect.
