Ah finally someone actually did the same amount of research I did when I swap out my USDM to JDM rear bumper. I used all JDM parts except the chassis mounted bracket as it’s oem made for the JDM/ EUR market Evos.
I ordered the license plate lights bracket as well.
If your looking for the proper lights, the model number is MR485699. It’s longer and only requires 1 screw per light as the other side is a squeeze clip. If your having a hard time finding it, Mitsubishi also made that same light for the 2004-2006 Base Lancers MR322869. I have an extra pair if you can’t get it new.
Also there’s a reinforce bracket for the bottom left side of the bumper, hint why it has those small rivet holes. That bracket was very hard to get but now I believe it’s discontinued. It helps to prevent that belly effect in the center of the diffuser seeing there’s no support other than clip that connects to the toe hook bracket.

A few things to note, you’ll need the STM crash beam in order to mount the license plate and the JDM bracket (similar to the USDM but it doesn’t come with the hangers that the license plate connects to), or you can cut the hangers.

If I get an Evo one day, I want full amber reflectors on the headlights, JDM tail lights, and an Evo IX rear bumper. I just wish the JDM bumper stuck out further like the USDM does.

I got an Evo 7 that I plan on doing this too, I'm in Australia and all the shops that sell the Tomei are sold out, the rear bumper is easy to get, but I do love how Mitsubishi make the car very easy to work on, out of all the cars I've owned the Evo was the easiest but the most expensive

I own a red evo 8 gsr as well. I swapped out the gsr rear bumper for a evo 9 jdm bumper with a voltex diffuser, it looks so good! But living in Australia we don't see the USDM bumpers, I wouldn't mind rocking one out here on our side of the world.

No need to, he has a authentic JDM Evo, the license connects to the bracket on the chassis. USDM models don’t have it hint why people custom work it with the USDM parts.

I find that even my stock Evo bumper looks off just because it is made of plastic compared to the metal fenders. I think the difference in material makes it look a little off in certain light conditions.
