Welcome aboard the inaugural flight of Skylab Radio-your gateway to the sonic universe curated by Skylab Recordings, our newly launched record label and the chillout sanctuary under the wing of Scientific Records. That’s what Skylab Recordings and Skylab Radio are all about.
Our first voyage, dubbed “Deepstep Sessions .01,” dives into the heart of chillstep at a cruising speed of 140bpm, occasionally weaving through ambient 2step and garage atmospheres as well. This mix pays homage to the genre that has captured my heart over many years, marking my first exploration into mixing this beloved style. “Deepstep Sessions .01” hints to an iconic chillstep LP, “Deepstep .01”, previously released on vinyl through Scientific Records-a collection that has inspired me deeply. With aspirations of crafting a sequel LP to then be released on Skylab Recordings, this episode promises to be just the beginning.
