Yes because she never erased their memories.... her intention to track them down after the war is stated clearly in the books.

This scene, with the trio standing apart from their families, knowing they will soon be on the run is the perfect intro and really sets the scene for deathly hallows part 1

It does set them apart from their families.....Their families, their entire lives.....Who they have only ever known and love. Imagine that level of sacrifice as a teenager. That is insane..
Dudley has really changed ever since Harry saved him from the dementors 2 years before.

How would this protect her family? Her enemies still knew who THEY were. Hurting them would still hurt Hermione, even if they didn't know her
@@annem.howley5310 Not too sure. They would never get any information out of them if they interrogated them, so they wouldn’t see the point in doing so but they could still be killed. But they wouldn’t mourn Hermione if she died in the War.

Apart from the deaths, this is most depressing scene in the series 😢
After the battle of hogwarts Hermonie goes back to her parents and returns their memory the true sadness is if she died at the battle they would of never remembered her 💔

That was kind of the point of her altering their memories was so they wouldn't remember having a daughter if she died, thus they wouldn't be grief-stricken

It was not the biggest, everyone had to make sacrifices. The wizarding world was at war. No one's one sacrifice was bigger than anyone else's....well except Harry who literally sacrificed his life.

This set up The Deathly Hallows 1&2 perfectly. The score is hauntingly beautiful, the clouds rolling in, Hermione's heartbreaking actions to protect her parents. . . you really feel what's at stake. Really well done!

That is one of the greatest sacrifice in the entire series. I know so many of them gave their lives up but to live knowing that her family will never recognise her that's a pain that will never go away 😢
Her family will recognize her after she lifted the charm. Unlike Neville, whose parents will never recognize him.

in the books hermione didn't erase her parents' memories she quote "modified" them implying she could restore their memories later obliviate doesn't modify memories it erases them
After the battle, did the Dursleys go back? (Oh in the books Hermione found a spell to bring back the memories of her parents)

I choose to think that Hermione found her parents after the war. After all, she knew they were at Australia. Soon after, the internet was invented, so she could search for her parents easily. She was a daughter for muggles, and very smart, so she probably knew how to use the internet.
All Good things in life must come to an end.
I wish they had let that sit for a moment longer, it's very well done.
