I had the 2023 model of this. Only complaint I have with these folding devices is the black bars with video content. The black bars were huge when watching CZcams and it was just so off putting.

Incredible device but motorolas software and security updates are short. Samsung is 7 years....Motorola is much less according to reports. That is unacceptable to me

Quick note here. Both models of the 2024 razr are rated with IPX8 which means it has a water resistance rating of 8 (full immersion for 30min at 1.5m depth). The X in IPX8 means that the dust resistance was not tested. It doesn't mean that it has no dust resistance (it would have a 0 instead of an X in that case). It probably does, but it only means that they didn't test it. For reference, the previous 2023 razr models had a rating of IP52 (dust resistance of 5 and water resistance of 2).

Quick question, do you have to remove the battery to get the secondary screen out? Looks like the cable goes behind the battery here.

Okay I'm an old guy. I owned the very first analog AT&t wireless handset Way on back in the '80s. The one thing none of you reviewers ever talk about these phones is portability. I have a Galaxy s24 I hate sticking it in my pants pocket because it will pull my shorts down to my ankles because it weighs about 37 lb. The portability of these smaller devices is what should sell you on the device. You can take the split phone throw it in your pocket it's nowhere near as heavy as a regular phone nor does it take up that much space and you can go about your business. I'm an audio file I love listening to music it's so easy whip it out cover screen next track throw it back in your pocket done so if you're the kind of person that likes to go on a walk going on a jog or whatever this is for you the portability is for you no one wants to carry around an iPhone s15 pro that weighs 96 lb with you
Another thing the CPU in this phone '99.92% of anyone who owns this phone is only going to get this phone to do Instagram Facebook Snapchat what other crap is out there I have no earthly clue. You're not going to push the CPU You're not You're not going to even notice the CPU any difference to the Samsung phone because you're not purchasing this phone to do heavy intense type crap on it that's not what it's for and if your purchasing it for that you're purchasing the wrong product. You will never ever ever notice a CPU slowdown on this phone compared to the Galaxy phone in normal daily use never it just won't be marketing ploy that's all it is

Can I please ask you a question: can I use SwiftKey keyboard on the outer scree? Please answer this question as your answer will make my decision of whether to buy or not.

No, I have tried many times and can only use Gboard😂,But once you get used to it, it’s okay. The big screen on the outside is really a good experience.

I was told game information doesn't translate to both sides...one will have a different score than the other. Not sure if this is true. I saw it on another review.

I 2024 I feel like we're att the point where creators don't really need to talk about chips anymore. I hear someone complain but right after say I used it the same as I usually do and have absolutely no problems. So it's a waste to even go into details about it. Lol

That RAZR has been truly disappointing - Since January FW update, have to open the phone to use Google Assistant properly, and Moto is not even committing to fix this critical user-function, despite still advertising that Assistant can be used with the phone closed. It is a serious defect for a phone that promotes usability when closed. The Lenovo/Moto/RAZR support/discussion board shows how little Moto is taking any responsibility of a broken feature Moto specifically promotes. Moto RAZR... outrageous you have to open the phone to use Google Assistant, awkward, not as advertised, more wear on the hinge and screen fold... since Jan '24 - still that way in July - that 25% of a phone's typical use life a critical SW function is broken. Great idea, but someone dropped the ball on this critical function.

It's not just a razr issue for the google assist. I have to unlock my s23 ultra just to use the google assist
