The best subtle way to fuck around in the past is to take mundane natural things and go back to put them places they don’t belong. Imagine an anthropologist in Polynesia finding a rock that is both hundreds of miles away from the nearest place they’re naturally found, but it’s carbon dating is also centuries older than anything around it, or a piece of wood from trees only found in small, remote pockets of nature an entire hemisphere away from where it was found as the handle of an axe in an ancient hunter-gatherer gravesite. Or cave paintings made of pigments produced on a different continent using methods at least a century ahead of anything available at both where they’ve been found and where they normally are.
Mandrakes are a real plant from the Mediterranean. The roots have several branches that can often give then a root structure that is humanoid in form. It is toxic but in low doses it was an early surgical anesthetic. Lots of mythology around it like the deadly scream on being uprooted.

Btw on the discussion of second planet meta, Glacio is absolutely the most overpowered one. I always build in Silvia just enough to take my first flight to Glacio and then there's where i build my actual main base. Glacio has the most OP research stuff for the research chamber, so i just build a few of those and in no time I have all that Ill need. I had never heard of a calidor meta. Afaik it's always been glacio

try turning up your brightness, it's not that dark
Alternatively, feed the sylvie snails and they become very bright lights. They'll eat any seed, but last longer if they get thwir favorite.
Build a train to the underground pile of "big things"(I assume research items) on the first planet to transport them back to base. Edit: or bring power down a research station and use arms ton queue up the research.

I'm less sure about this: I think most of the cookies that are pastries are French in origin.
