- These two cars on the surface look like they're similar but underneath they are nothing alike. The M Roadster is such a well engineered car from BMW and the Miata is a very raw car with not much to it.

You should buy the Z3. The Miata is a rot box. Even good condition ones are rotting. Z3’s however are bottomed out now, only one direction to go with is up in value. The parts are also cheaper. This from someone who has had 3 Miatas.
most miatas are rotted for sure. I looked for a long time before finding mine which is quite clean

US spec M roadster came with only 240hp, but I understand your confusion. It does pull like a nearly 300hp car
Bmw underrated power. They didn’t make quite 300 but it’s closer to 300 than that it’s rated from what I’ve seen
@@NavsGarage I can't find any dyno tests or proof that BMW underrated power. I think you're confusing it with the +300hp euro-spec version
I’d like to see a comparison of the Z3 2.3 vs the Miata. Perhaps a more fair comparison.

The new Mazda is real good now 180 Horsepower and gets 41 miles a gallon even if you ride it fast still great gas mileage is in the 40s. BMW no were near that in the low 20s maybe 24 mph at best. How ever BMW has more power but the Mazda funner to drive because it's so light only 2100 lbs. The dependability is great. I own one and put 170,000 miles no problems I sold to get the newer one. He is also showing you the low grade Mazdas. the 2006 came much better 160 hp and leather seats and nicer interior. The gas mileage is not as good on the 06 mot the 2017 however maybe 31 at best.
I would not call the NA a low grade Mazda. Most people would rather have a NA than NB even if the NB is objectively better. The Gas mileage perhaps is the only thing I can see, but really gas milage isn't a big deal for most people buying sports cars. New ones are great but everything I said still stands, BMW uses higher quality materials.
Z3 1.9 4l 140hp, Is more comparable than z3m with a miata! So, nice video

This isn't the best comparison. This would be better compared to MX-5 BBR edition cars with the appropriate upgrades that are more of match between the two in terms of performance. Arguably, you’re still going to get more from the BMW M Roadster due to tuning and engine size, but at least the horsepower output would be a bit more closely matched.
The NA Miata would seemingly compare better to the Z3 cars fitted with a 1.9 liter 4 Cylinder and a 5-speed transmission.

I'm surprised that the BMW puts out less horse power than my 2012 V6 Impala, which puts out 300 from the factory. Anyway I enjoyed the episode. What ever happened to the Mustang? Yah the bmw has “only 300hp” but it’s light and meant to be a track car. The mustang is in the garage and actually leaking oil. More to come on that car. Thanks for watching!!
It will feel like "300" because it's so light. I had an e36 m3 and I can say the z3m feels much much faster. It's lightweight.
Better comparison is the bmw Z3M vs Honda S2000. Both I6 both manual or auto, both rwd both coupe both from the same years.
I don’t own a s2000 but one day would love to own and review one. But the s2000 only comes in manual and is not a i6 it’s a i4 and did not come in a coupe only roadster
@@NavsGarage yes both are roadsters both are manuals. Damn I was wrong though the s2000 never came with a i6. Not sure why I thought so to. I would love to own a s2k as well.

I dont think the M z3 has the M52.the m52 i have is 2.8
The bme z3m which is in this video has a 3.2L S52 and later years they came in s54.
Two very different cars if you are in the market for an MX5 of the value you mention you are in competition with a standard Z3. The MX5 is the better option unless you need the extra cabin and boot space.
Here in the UK, a decent Z3M is going to cost £20,0000 to £25,000. For that you could get a nearly new (or new if you haggle) MX5, but you are also in competition with a lot of other cars, a quick look online.
