For me, Caroline Shaw can do no wrong. This a wonderful example of her work.
This is an amazing work of music. Even some of Beethoven's works have portions which are conventionalized and uninteresting. Every single section of this work however, is lush with musical interest. From the polymetric minimalism of the first section, to that "muttering" like section, all were done so with great taste.

Brilliant of the BYC to commission this from Caroline Shaw. Such a rich, inventive piece of music, and the BYC are simply wonderful with such a challenging work--nearly 50 high school kids and a conductor, who really should be named, making music at such a high level.
Stunning composition and performers--beautiful combinations of colors, rhythms, surprises that fit together so well.
This is such a brilliant piece and so brilliantly performed
Well done indeed! Never be afraid to try new things.
