ive known so many people from Mexico that buy totaled cars from the us and fix them in Mexico for cheaper, and have also crossed the border back and forth over 100 times and have literally stopped ONCE going into Mexico AFTER they made the New San Ysidro crossing station. All they did was walk around the car and let us pass.

Didn't expect the short to get pushed out to 16K people! It's a short story from a longer video about moving to Southern Mexico. The border is different at TJ too though, it's within the free zone. I lived in Tijuana for 2 years and we drove back and forth all the time, just like you are saying with no stops or issues. If you take your car further south you have to get a TIP: www.mexperience.com/temporary-import-permit-tip-vehicles-mexico/

The inspections and other things are done for entering the interior of mexico. I cant remember if its 30 or 60 kilometers that everything comes into play. As you enter the interior of Mexico you will come across what looks like a border. You stop they inspect your bags etc. The laws are different at the actual border. Its almost like 2 countries. 1 near the actual border and 1 further in. It makes it easier for the Border cities.

Nobody in the comments get it. When you cross into Mexico, if you stay within 100 miles of the border you dont need to register anything or at all. SO many people from the US stay close to the border that they dont even ask or care.
BUT if you stay for more than 6 months or go further than 100 miles you need to register your vehicle, apply for a visa, etc right at the border.
Y'all crossing the border that dont do that didnt do it legally and yes, they CAN deport you from Mexico.

They're looking for you to Palm that $20 bill and show them the money. If you don't understand the Mexican culture then don't go there.

There are just as many crooks in ANY other country as there are in Mexico. They are an honest and hardworking people overall. Saying that crime is part of their culture is racist and ignorant. I've lived there for 3 years and have a lot of Mexican friends. I've never been asked for a bribe.
