    Sounds awesome, really hard to find people actually going for na builds on 5.3s. So it’s really refreshing to see, also you can definitely get 600 out of it even on pump gas, you’re just probably going to need a serious solid roller cam, some high flow heads that are flowing around 300cfm, and prob some stronger rods and pistons and you could get to 600hp before 8000 rpm. If you would like any other suggestions I would love to help, I’m still stuck in school so I don’t have the time or money to build any more engine, which will hopefully change soon

    Under 230 duration intake under 240 duration exhaust other than the Super Victor and Manley valves nothing really exotic good job a tick over 10.5 to 1 compression most 5.3 LSs are 460-475 horsepower so 502 is great on 91 octane

    Is the 105.5 IC to get the intake valve closed as soon as possible for DCR?

    • @dustinlee5566

    • @trailerparkcryptoking5213
      @trailerparkcryptoking5213 Před rokem +2

      For the DCR calculation should one use the degrees @ 0.050” or degrees where the valve touches the seat? It looks like some people use @0.050” numbers, but you don’t begin to build dynamic compression until that valve is seated!

      I’d try to make sure you have the engine close on piston to head clearance in the neighborhood of .040” and shoot for around 10.75:1 on compression.

    • @trailerparkcryptoking5213
      @trailerparkcryptoking5213 Před rokem +1

      @@dustinlee5566 are you getting that 0.040” clearance by zero decking the block or with head gaskets or both? I am a firm believer in proper quench distance and to keep it under 0.045”....I run my 454 @0.039” and it performs great....

    • @dustinlee5566
      @dustinlee5566  Před rokem +1

      Depending on where I’m at, either decking the block or using the proper thickness head gasket I’ll try to be around .040” on a street/strip engine. On larger stroke engines I tend to add a few thousandths of deck clearance to make sure nothing touches, as well with pistons that call for more piston to wall clearance, that way as the piston rocks over it doesn’t contact the head.
