The bench depth rule is very bizarre. The commentators, who are both very experienced with international powerlifting, can't seem to agree on which lifts are meeting the standard and which ones are not. The side judges never seem to notice if depth is not hit, so it's mostly on the jury to decide (hard to replicate that at a local meet). It can't be fun for the lifters who have to change their technique but don't have a clear guideline on what they need to do.
@@ev1bl Her Bench is just so sketchy. Maybe elbow depth is met, but she also barely touches her chest with the bar, if at all (I don't think she did on her 3rd). She is just playing with fire benching like this and if you do, sometimes you will get burned.

Those jury members are just straight up not following the definition in the rule book with those jury decisions for the Austrian lifter, at least.
