About "The Cleveland Orchestra Centennial Celebration"
On Saturday, September 29, 2018 at The Cleveland Orchestra’s home, Severance Hall, America’s preeminent performing arts television series "Great Performances" in association with ideastream recorded The Cleveland Orchestra’s 100th Anniversary Gala Concert.
For the Anniversary Gala, Cleveland Orchestra Music Director Franz Welser-Möst led a program featuring pianist Lang Lang as soloist. The program offered works touching on more than a century of Viennese musical traditions with Lang Lang performing Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 24. Lang Lang made his Cleveland Orchestra debut in 2000 at Blossom Music Center and most recently performed with the Orchestra in 2014 at Severance Hall. The remainder of the concert featured works by Richard and Johann Strauss, and concludes with Ravel’s viscerally cataclysmic La Valse (The Waltz), which dramatically evokes the changing artistic worlds between the 19th and 20th centuries. The annual Gala Evening provided essential funding for The Cleveland Orchestra’s engaging education and community programs, which share the value and joy of music with people throughout Northeast Ohio.

🥰❤❤❤❤❤
Потрясающие проникновенность и техника!
Amazing interpretation. The 1st cadence is from Hummel and it is an amazing choice.
Hi, erm...I'm just interested in Lang's interpretation. Could you tell me which musical work of Hummel did Lang borrow the cadenza from?
@@YueLi-vw4rg Hummel wrote the cadenza especially for this concerto, there are different cadenzas written for the same concerto, I would believe that the most famous is Beethoven's cadenza. At the time of Mozart, Mozart did not write his cadenzas because that part was improvised every time he plaid it.
If you pay attention, you can hear a kind of Chopin in Hummel's cadenza, and that is because Chopin probably as a child listened and liked Hummel's work.
BTW, Hummel probably wrote the cadenza more than 20 or 30 years after Mozart died, and because is beautiful it remained as a wanted cadenza selection for playing the concerto.
טודה אתה ענק וירטואוז לנג לנג
תודה
F WM is a wonderful conductor I think. The hostility of a small number of critics didn’t help during his time in London. Our loss.
Saludos ...Lang
Mozart wanted to play (with) the piano
Lang Lang cosplaying Mozart 😖
Even horowitz's mozart was not authentic but you won't dare to say it
However, if it is lang lang people feel needy to criticise him.
No clue what to do, is it debussy chopin or some other
Nothing but contemptuous envying of virtuosity,Margaret flack 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
Not disciplined, yet interesting and enjoyable.
אני חושב אותו דבר
Mozart wie Chopin gespielt. Nicht gut.
So how is the orchestra playing. ? They are all under the same baton.
1st cadenza from Hummel which sounds like Chopin.
Des décennies d'écarts
He doesn’t know what he’s playing
Even horowitz's mozart was not authentic but you won't dare to say it
