i hear you on the screws having easily salvaged 100 or so 2 inch Torx screws from a thoroughly rotten deck, i will re use them in the new timbers....
Yeah, what is with all the wasted decking boards?
Solid!! Nice work! I've seen plenty of times where stairs (or single steps) were an after thought, thrown together with scraps, odds and ends, etc. They are a high traffic, high impact areas and need to be as beefy as possible.
Why the wasted deck boards under the stairs , and no railing post on the stairs ? Did u pull permits and inspections?
Decking is the most expensive part of the job. Why would you waste pieces like that? Makes no sense
