    This is good advice to cornwall, a personal trainer, a nutritionist and aerobics every single day. No weight training. And in 6 months you can come back and prove us wrong that you not blocking other young players from getting a opportunity to play cricket. But you had sufficient time as a professional athlete.

    It is about optimising the performance of the Athlete but he has to take personal responsibility too. He is a superb cricketer inspite of his lack of athleticism. To make a WI team and put in 2 match winning performances speaks to his ability. Is his weight a medical issue or is it that he is too lazy to improve himself. Clearly he has something to offer and should be encouraged to work on his fitness. If he reached this far with that size could you imagine if he loses weight what he can do?

    • @vikyp989
      @vikyp989 Před 10 měsíci +2

      Fitness is a space where you need to enjoy going through the long term aspect of the process. I remember Inzamam saying that he stopped scoring runs when started working hard on his fitness and that's why he felt it was a waste of time and promptly stopped. Concentrating on fitness became stressful and a burden for him. He went back to his old ways and still managed to become one of the greatest batsmen. So we can we really ask 'what could have been'? Your state of mind dictates whether you will be able to get the best out of something.

    I genuinely don't understand Cornwall. He's a half decent bowler, and as a batter he has shown that he has a very good eye for the ball, can time it well, and score plenty of runs, but the fact that for years now he's seemed completely unwilling to actually take it seriously enough to tackle his weight is ridiculous.
    He has the ability to play for the West Indies in all forms of the game, but all he gets is the occasional pick for the Test team when they've literally run out of other options, because his weight makes him an absolute liability.
    The complete inability to take quick singles, to run hard on the first and put the fielders under pressure, to rotate the strike means that he's too much of a risk because if things aren't going well, if he's not finding the middle of the bat, then the scoring stops. If he's not hitting boundaries then he's not scoring runs, and a player like that isn't viable at the top level.
    At this point it's clear that he doesn't care, he knows that he'll make a decent living as a slogger playing in the minor T20 leagues and can't be bothered to put in any effort to actually make use of the talent he has.

    Dudes being lazy... this is the era of mollycoddling overweight people... yeah mate, you just do you, everyones special blah blah blah ... the guy is overweight, if he doesnt wanna take it seriously then dont play him. The reason he isnt in any decent comps is his inabiluty to be an assett in anything other than hitting a 6- cant run, cant field except in slip, theres others who can do what he does but do the rest also... no brainer- only lesser comps will employ him
