Redguards
Bosmer for me
How about a race tier list for Legendary mode? I believe you haven't done this but if you I'll look for it.
So far I've done an argonian and a khajiit (using the maxed out Ebony Blade of all things lol).
bosmer, they are the best assassins and thieves bc of the bonus levels
Can we get a full modlist?
Wood Elves aren't made of wood. Sea Elves aren't made of water. M'aiq still wonders about High Elves.
Maybe that’s why Nazeem goes to the Cloud District often. 🤔
High Elves are made of Skooma
@@SamFromSolitude even worse, they're made of sleeping tree sap
Can sea elves be mer-mer

Just wanted to take a moment and say, that this video is insanely well edited
Thanks man!
It's almost... like _magic_ ! 🪄
Edit: my favorite is the timer bar
Yes the editing truly is amazingly well made and funny
I loved the zoom when the bug smacked into the skull
When I had problems with choosing race, I always took Breton simply due to innate magical resistance. You can never go wrong with this.
magic resistance ends up useless when you get the atronach perk and the atronach stone bonus. You basically become immune to magic (which includes dragon breath too)
@@foxmulder7436 I prefere Lord stone, so I can be better protected against both magical and mundane damage; besides Atronach stone damages magicka recovery, while Lord doesn't have any drawbacks.
@@mateuszslawinski1990 lord stone doesn't go past the armor cap so it's useless once your gear is good enough.
Magicka recovery is useless once you get cost reduction on your gear (if you actually want to use magic which doesn't scale with gear)
@@foxmulder7436
Why not both?
@@warlordofbritannia You can only carry the effects of 1 stone at a time, unless you have the Aetherium Crown. So, you do have a point there.
The funny thing about height=run speed is that the Bosmer are the most agile playable race in the lore, only being rivaled by Wood Orcs who hail from the same province. Bosmer are definitely my choice for favorite race though, Wood Orcs are a close second.
That makes sense and it would be cool if they incorporated agility into the next scrolls, especially if height affects movement speed again. Some races could dodge/climb faster while others could charge better perhaps 🤔
@@theWelshWizard That would be pretty interesting, I'd love to see movement speed return as an important mechanic like it did for previous titles in the series. There are mods for it and ways to somewhat replicate it in Skyrim but its just not quite there sadly. Anyway, love your vids Wizard, thanks for keeping us entertained.
And in real life short people tend to be faster than tall people
@@Bobobo-bo-bo-bobobo is this true?
@@asterodon Usain Bolt is like 6'5", which is pretty tall for a sprinter. Mostly due to getting out of the blocks
My favourite one to play as is Dark Elf.
The 50% Fire Resist works wonders as a Vampire. It makes it so you don't have to worry about feeding as much, since the natural resistance cancels out the worst stage of the Vampires' fire weakness.
Barring that, I like playing Nord because the Frost resist is nice, and Khajiit because they're the coolest-looking.
that was one of my first actual characters but i now lean more towards high elves and or bretons. Mainly high elves because im a mage and can do some absurd things with them and some racial over hauls and the ordinator. Then vaympruim vampire mod and i can just look at you and say no and you die
High elves are so ugly. I miss oblivion where Bretons got a Magicka boost, and high elves had a higher boost but also a weakness to magic. Atronach in Skyrim sucks, in oblivion is awesome.
And father dagoth is happy
Fire resist is nice. Being able to get spell absorption to 100% as a vampire so you have 100% magic resistance is better
lore reasons orc and dark elf are my fav and gameplay high elf and orc
I like how Kittys are number 9 and yet they are the best option for survival mode they have a amazing cold resistance they can see in the dark with out needing a torch or a spell that could cause a sound with out quiet casting and they give you punch ability just make some brawling gloves enchant them with more punch and get that ring making it so your essentially dual wielding dedric swords
I love the Kitties! The other races are cool but I am biased to the first race I have ever played and absolutely have the most fun with at any given time
KITTIES.
I mean
If mod content is on the table, being an Elder Lich is pretty cool.
Or being a Dawi.
Not my cup of tea in terms of vibe, but the power of an Uchiha is undeniable, too.
Plus, the kitties npc’s are always the most fun
Khajiit supremacy 😾
It's a shame that the Redguards adrenaline rush is just worse than eating soup.
I once tried to really make use of their stamina ability by building a kind of "body wizard" that utilizes different dlc items that consume stamina to cast spell effects. The results were unfortunately quite meh. Better to just use a sword.
I forgot about that sneaky vegetable soup! And Secret of Strength from old Mora is also fantastic
@@theWelshWizardI know that I am the only one that thinks that the vegetable soup isn't that good and I am tired of liyng that this thing is good. just one more hp per second doesn't makes something useful, and if you're that exciting for one hp&sp per second so let me tell you something the hroker soup requires less ingredients and have the same effects as the vegetable soup + restore some stamina.
@@arilion11Vegetable soup restores 1 stamina per second, which means you can keep doing power attacks over and over... Why do you sound so hostile when you clearly have no idea what you're even talking about?
@@LucaDavoli_ when I'm fighting a legendary dragon i will eat 25 cheese wheels and not a vegetable soup, and if i want stamina i will use a stamina potion or be a redguard, and the vegetable soup restores only ONE per second!
@@arilion11 You're trolling, right? Even with 1 SP (stamina point) you can perform a power attack. Because you get 1 SP per second it means you can do a power attack every single second. Therefore a vegetable soup is infinitely better than a stamina potion. End of discussion.
Very obvious altmer propaganda
It was either that or my head 👀
THALMOR PUPPET
I mostly agreed with these rankings and from the perspective of someone who prefers Wizard over all other classes it is pretty spot on although I personally rank the Khajiit just behind the Argonians. Their natural night vision, claws as strong as a dragon bone sword, and feline appearence make them one of my favorites.
There's not really any classes in Skyrim. Just things you might initially focus on. Eventually, you can get all the perks, so I usually focus on that, then bother with actually playing the game more properly. While I usually prefer using argonians, due to a weird lack of waterbreathing enchanted gear in my RNG loot tables, I did beat vanilla skyrim as a kajiit on the xbox 360 not too long after the game fist came out. So, I can appreciate where you're coming from. Many of the kajiit npcs' personalties are absolutely priceless, too. They're one of the reasons I can't stay away from the game for too long. Yeah, I've heard everything they can possibly say, but some of it still makes me laugh.
@@vladyvhv9579 You can give all but two Kajiit npcs the level of personality the high elves have and they would still be on top just because of how great M'aiq and Marreesee are.
We all knew Orcs would be near the top, that berserker's rage would be insanely powerful with JUST the extra damage. Doubling your damage is just absurd. It's also one of the few powers that actually makes the horrifying Stealth Archer even more powerful.
Yeah, my tank of an orc is also a stealth archer. Between my heavily enhanced bow, my set of archery equipment, Berserker's Rage, and the all powerful stealth tree, it’s busted as fuck. Even a frost variant of an elder dragon loses half their health to one Daedric or dragon bone arrow.
Berserk Orc Assassin... Stealth up behind The Ebony Warrior, and you can one-shot him at level 6. Kinda crazy.
Stealth Archery isn't even that good. The Sneak modifier is pretty bland, and bows do the least dps of any other weapon in the game. Ditch the bow for the dagger and turn your boring ass stealth archer into a nightblade illusionist.
wearing no armor, coming in 1v5 vampire volkihar lords with 2 axes and berserker rage, killing all
@@AvengerAtIlipa
The reason stealth archery is so OP is because if you are up close with a dagger or sword, you can be run into and instantly detected while if you use a bow you can just cheese everything and sit up on a ledge for the 30 minutes it takes to kill the hardest boss in the game at lvl1 (or you would if it didnt have anti cheese health regen but you can still do it far earlier than with any other strategy)

You missed Nord at 2. I agree with the rest though
@@drewbaaca no they didnt
I did not know the different races have different speeds. The more you know.
That makes two of us!
I love playing as an Imperial. The Voice of the Emperor special ability is so underrated. It's useful when you kill on a public area and accidentally hitting your followers (making them hit you back and they literally won't stop when you or him is dead)
Voice of the Emperor works on Vampires and the Ebony Warrior without any illusion perks.
I like it how you not only ranked the races, but also went into detail on how to enhance their unique abilities even further.
High Elves btw do run the fastest, so they would benefit from items enhancing their running speed even further: Ring of the Wind which increases speed by 15% and the sword Bloodthirst which increases speed by 7%. With Slow Time active this effect becomes even more visual.
I forgot about that ring but didn’t realise that sword! Will remember that for future.👌 Thanks, glad you enjoyed 🧙♂️
Height also affects melee damage, not by very much, but it does.
@@EA_SP0RTCENTER No, that was a myth from years ago. It was tested by having your character change into another race and then yes, the High Elf will do 8% more damage. But when you combine damage between races at the same skill level you'll see that they all hit the same
@@Leto85 huh, weird. Yea there's no way to change race so that's not applicable. Wonder why it does that if you use the console to change races.
Argonians have always been my favourite race in the Elder Scrolls so it's nice to see them getting some recognition #LizardBoys
Yes
Hell yeah!
Argonian has always been my go-to. I've tried other races throughout the years but like a boomerang, I've always returned right back to the argonian. I feel naked/like a fish out of water when I play as something else.
Love a shadow scale build and playthrough
I just recently began a playthrough as one and I'm kicking myself for not having done so before. Usually always did Nords or Dunmer. Was a nice change of pace and was super fun to play as
That "Skyrim -" saved you from a wild title
🤣no kidding
I agree with most of it. I mainly play Altmer or Breton myself whether it's survival or not. Part of this is because of the fact I "can't live without" Imperious - Races of Skyrim mod which adds to the flavor of the race itself.
Honestly I have a personal preference for Argonian with the healing ability and free underwater breathing.
Histskin is insane tbf and the waterbreathing is convenient
Every time I see somebody talk about the water breathing I wonder when the hell are you ever going underwater long enough to where that is useful in Skyrim.
@@getonleagueguys7557 Pilgrim's Trench. That's about it. Better off just getting a Necklace of Waterbreathing.
Argonian werewolf for the win. Also, yeah. Finding something to disenchant "waterbreathing" from can be a pain, unless you resort to mods or console codes. Even with resetting vendor inventories, it's just something they don't seem to like to sell, much to the chagrin of my non-argonian followers.
@@vladyvhv9579 Radiant Raiment has the necklace frequently.

Sorry I can’t keep that so long up. All in all Well done. Just one question how do you keep getting new Ideas for your script my Ideas run out after this bit.
Redguards are my fav race and Hammerfell is my biggest TES6 wish list
Can’t actually wait for that!!
No idea why autocorrect added “list” to the end
While there is no Hand-to-hand skill in Skyrim (which is still a huge bummer even to this day imo), there is a perk for Heavy Armor which increases Unarmed damage based on the armor value of your gauntlet (sadly it's only checking the base armor value, so upgrading the gauntlet will not increase the damage) and it stacks with Unarmed enchantments and with the Khajiit Claws
As a long time player just that just recently learned how often the base rating is used for skills and stuff is heartbreaking.
@@maxs-lz4pnBase ratings can be increased with an exploit. Drink and alchemy potion and wear enchanted gear that all increase smithing. When you craft a new weapon say an iron dagger it's base stats are what is modified.
Unless they patched out the exploit.
But yeah you can make a basic iron dagger do well over 30 damage for it's base before refining it at a grind stone.
As an Imperial treasure Hunter, I can say while we do lack claws or resistance to Magicka or anything else we can be ANYTHING (Sure Redguards might be anything but their adrenaline surge angles them more toward being a warrior type) so I chose to become a successful treasure hunter. Also gold does grow on trees in Skyrim so what's the harm in having a little more? I tell you, there's no better feeling then rooting around in your pocket and finding the extra 3 Septim's you need for that Sweet roll. Also being last just means we work that bit harder. And being anything means we can just as easily changed from a stealth archer to a battlemage mid combat. I believe Imperials are looked down on as not having any exploitable skills but the coin skill pays for itself as there is a LOT of containers to loot.
this is what i was thinking the whole video
Imperials really are the best Battlemages due to their ability to master both magic and physical combat. They also get a head start on Heavy Armor and Block, which is a combo only Orcs match.
And purchasing training levels is hard to do without money. Of which you'll almost never be short on if you search every urn in a dungeon.
@@realsuperbunnyman2460 always gotta search every urn and corpse, lol
I have like 120k rn in vanilla skyrim legendary edition with a khajit character, the small coin bonus is unnecessary lol
I remember liking Imperials partly because the skill bonuses they start with are all skills I want to level up. While it doesn't make much difference in the long run, it is good to have that head start in making a battle mage.
Rank real world races next please!
😂
That would be an absolute disaster 😭
I personally go with either Nord or Argonian due to Histkin and Battlecry being very effective defensive abilities. Additionally, disease resistance is a great plus for when there aren't any nearby shrines to interact with and frost resistance is useful for closing the gap between you and an enemy casting frost spells at you.
As always, I know everything you mentioned but it's still a delight to see one of your vids. The editing, pace... It must be so much work though! (having to calm everyone down, strike the pose just for a 2 seconds shot).
As for the content itself, the High Elves are the obvious master race but I just can't help loving the Khajit so much. The voices, the looks, the mischief, it's too perfect.
Glad you enjoyed! Yeah, the recording can take a while and probably the most time-consuming part of the process, but it’s fun getting the right angles 👌
The Khajiit are definitely one of the coolest if not the coolest race to play!
Incredible editing! It's hard to see channels that still make skyrim videos
Yeah as someone who enjoys mixing Melee and Magic, i tend to pick Breton. Magic Resistance and Spell Absorption that can be further boosted through spells, perks and items can really make them strong against Mages. Combining that with using armor boosted by armor perks further makes them very tanky against all damage.
Didn't know a lot of this, especually about the Falmer Helmet! Very cool video, thank you!
Awesome video! Informative and entertaining! I didn't know there was a height difference between the races, let alone that it affected movement speed.
Every time I watch this channel, I want to break out jammin' to The Wizard by Black Sabbath!
Great ranking by the way!
Argonian for me, simply because that waterbreathing is so useful at early levels for escaping overwhelming foes.
There has been many a time where i have escaped an angry Spriggan by hiding at the bottom of a lake or river.
Underwater fetch quests + trouble finding waterbreathing enchanted item to learn the enchantment from = developed preference for undrownable lizard dude.
I'm a Kahjit to the core, their natural night eye is super useful in dark caves while I'm sneaking about. Just wish they detection buff while sneaking.
Hey, Mister Wizard! What do you think about a video ranking the best living conditions throughout all of Skyrim's holds. Speaking specifically about which cities / holds would be the best and worst to live in. Love your videos! 😁
I like it! Noted 📝 and thanks 🧙♂️
Not as much to say as last time - editing is still top-notch, and I love all the mod presentations built in!
As for the Rankings, I actually can't argue much with any.. I reckon you looked more at mid-to-endgame for this & your points supported it all well. I feel like for the start especially Khajiit and Dunmer (with their daily ability) can provide a lot of help but, of course, later on that just nose-dives. Could be cool in TES6 let those abilities scale with you to a certain extent.
My first race was Imperial, unknowing of the breadth of wealth ahead, but I trashed that one pretty quickly. After that I went with Dunmer, but any future playthrough ended up as Khajiit, for obvious Stealth Archer Reasons. In my last few runs after the few-year break I decided to branch out again though and picked some other races and honestly - very fun, I can't recommend everyone to just try around more in general.
Personally I was quite shocked to see Argonian that high, so I might go for one on my next run.
I'll be looking forward to the next vid, whatever may win the poll. Have a good one!
Thanks man! Appreciate the kind words and glad you enjoyed :)
I have an argument with the orc, while they don't have any thief skills, the fact they can simply double the modifiers of any sneak attack with their ability is terrifying when you combine it with the Shrouded Gloves and the assassin blade perk, bringing your sneak attack multiplier to 60x or 120x if you attack with two daggers at the same time...
Another great video!
It has been 12 years since Skyrim has been release and we are still getting content after all this time XD Keep it up
Nice video! I would love to see a similar one for planet Earth!
Always nice to see a video, personally I enjoy choosing Imperial or Nord since they have the best start skills for combat + having a good starting skill spread. A random question, but what ENB/Weather/Lighting/Fire/blahblahblah do you use? I really like it's look. = )
Good video, wizard! I Always enjoy listening ❤👍
This video deserves more likes and View, such good editing and more 😊
I tried the imperial race a lil while back because I couldn't recall ever using it. I thought it was fine. I figured the same thing about the gold, but one thing I noticed is that my goal for money in rpgs is to get to a point where I could just buy everything I want and have money left over. But even when I am going full on scrooge mcduck mode, I don't really ever achieve that in Skyrim. Money is just always useful.
Once you’ve completed Thieves Guild quests you get more gold and gems in one chest than you would get in the whole dungeon before.
Dude I've been getting back into Skyrim and I wanted to say thanks for providing amazing content for this game. It's awesome even after 12 years I still can watch stellar content creators like you, HeavyBurns, Cpt. Panda, and BardsCollegeGraduate, and Camelworks!
It’s my pleasure and thank you for the kind words :)
Khajit thinks Khajit are the best and most handsome.
Argonians have a lot of traits that never leave you with your pants down and just generally improve quality of life.
Takes all the stress out of the water portion of the end of the battle with Mercer.

There's a perk in the heavy armour tree which adds the armour rating of your gauntlets to your unarmed damage.
Nord: because generic/jack of all trades doesn’t equal bad
High Elves making #1 makes me so happy you have no idea. I feel like we usually get shafted by lists like these due to popularity of other races.
God I love your work man
Welshwizard i love your vids a lot you are one of the last CZcamsrs that make good Skyrim content
I appreciate that, thanks man!
Np I just like spreading love and appreciation instead of hate
another great top. cheers
Thanks for watching! 🧙♂️
Argonians for life!! Especially with some decent underwater mods for that treasure
My opinion is that high elves, orcs and bretons are the best in that order. A flat resist magic is always nice, although with the right setup you can get that without being a breton, orcs have the best ability, in doubling your damage and halving your enemies, high elves get the fastest movement speed, a great magica regen ability, they start with an illusion spell (illusion is a fun skill tree, especially for stealth mages) and already +50 magica.
If you are in survival mode though, nords.
I only play khajiit, balanced on all aspect with extra steps, its like having a tool that works on any circumstances
I'm now glad to know I choose the right race for Assassin thank you WelshWizard!
With the cat guys, I don’t remember how to spell the name, but with unarmed attacks if you ad on 2 or 3 sets of bracers that increase your unarmed attack damage than it can be even better, and the way you get three of those sets of bracers on your character is by doing the jail method glitch to get all that armour on your character
I don't use torches or Candlelight. I use a crafted wearable light source from the mod Tweaks Glowing Baubles by TweakOPedia. Comes in 8 colours, takes up no armour or accessory slot, only weighs 0.1, simple to craft at any cooking station, and lights an area better and clearer than any torch. Also, when sneaking, the light automatically shuts off. It's one of my favourite convenience mods.
Master wizard! Blink twice if you were forced to say those things about the altmer/thalmor because we all know you are the best at magic! >:^O
*blinks twice*
I just finished playing an unarmed khajiit. Was actually pretty op as a brawler build. If you use skill perks on heavy armor you can add the armor rating of gauntlets to the buff. And from there you can enchant your armor to increase that by upwards of 5 more points of damage. In total my punches were doing around 40 damage or close to the damage rating of a nightengale bow which is only accessible after lever 46.
khajit are perfect for sneaking so therefore they make the inevitable stealth archer build more powerful
Im honestly just happy that my lizard boys are high up on the list, people usually rank them lower
Loved the video! Very well edited. I just wanted to know which mods did you use on this video. The movimentation was so smooth and the "lock-in" mod was very nice. If possible, may you tell which mods did you use in this video?
He uses Septimus AE mod list from Wabbajack according to another comment he replied to
As an Orc main I am very happy with their high ranking! however I'm a bit peeved that they're outshined by those high elven bastards...
Just a Very high quality video
Your list was pretty right on.
You should do a let's play of Skyrim. Love seeing all the mods you have and you're funny so it'd be awesome
8:30 the mini me sound effect killed me with laughter
12:54 I LOVE the Shadow Scale armor.
Great channel bud I’ve been watching some of your old videos. Very well made and you speak about everything unbiased and weigh up their skills and abilities.
This channel is a real hidden gem! Keep up the great work!
I try to balance roleplay and gameplay in my builds, but I love reading lore and writing a backstory so much, the roleplaying aspect usually wins out. The main message I get from this video is that race doesn't matter that much anyway, and most things can be achieved through other exploits. For me, what matters is feeling like I am that character, and their personality and morals influence the gameplay.
Orc are so OP. Berserker rage while turning into a werewolf or sneak attacking is crazy
Very cool. I wish we had bound weapons that applied bleed, poison and a kind of fire damage over time effect. The weapons should look just like the normal bound weapons only with green fire and green spectral appearance. The fire should glow green similarly to the way the lunar weapons are supposed to and. Anyway all this to offset the lower damage of bound weapons. It should benefit from all the buffs that normal weapons and cast magics do. Duel casting should boost the raw damage and lastly better rune spells. Maybe a bow could cast a poison rune on any surface it hits. One last thing, dule casting should place one handed weapons in the right hand not the left.
Hi there! Which mods are you using for graphics, armor sets, animations etc.? It looks awesome! Can I do a similar setup on xbox?
Good gauntlets with fists of steel perk as a khajit is very fun, I love being the most dangerous kitty cat
Breton is a must-pick if you are doing a no magic playthrough as you won’t have magic resist in your armor and so rely on alteration resist perks (you can get 100 alteration with 0 spells cast), agent of mara, and lord stone to get 85% MR to actually play the game on legendary. You can also use atronach instead if you get the third resist perk and find some way to make up the 15% resist deficit (because of the way resist works this means you’re actually taking double damage without that 15%), you can do this by being an Azura worshipper (10% magic resist from her blessing), serana dialogue add-on gives you 15% if you marry her after a LOT of effort, you can just equip a 15% enchanted ring/necklace/shield of solitude etc, not to mention any other mods you might have. Also worth mentioning some perk overhauls, Vokrii specifically, makes blessings 50% stronger and last longer with restoration perks so azura worshipping bretons can take the atronach stone and be immune to magic easily.
That's a nice animation mod for using your claws as the beast races
WOO Race Tier list LETS GOOOOOOOOOOO
Argonians are still my personal favourite race. They're the coolest race visually, their culture is amazing (the fact that they barely broke a sweat dealing with the Oblivion crisis while every other race struggled is funny).
Bretons would be my second favourite & my go to if I want to make an entirely mage character.
Third would probably be the orcs. They'd be my go too if I want to make the ultimate tank character (even though you can do an good tank build with Argonians aswell)
Nice!
Thanks!
I think this was a good list for someone more magic oriented.
What race do you recommend for a warrior because I always go with the breton or nord because ice storm in enemy hands is OP on anything higher than adept.
Very good video, I'm biased towards orcs myself and would put them first, but I like to play the warrior. I understand that's not everyone's choice, but glad to see we're still at least top 3. 😆
Thanks for watching!
Nice video, but it would be more interesting to include hidden racial boni like speed and stagger resistance. An High Elf for example being the largest has the most reach with melee weapons and movement speed making him a beast in combat. Also being tall or small is important when jumping over obstacles, both useful in exploration and for defending in battle.
Bretons are always my go to. Enemies that cast magic are always far more difficult to evade once in battle so resistance to magic makes most sense.
Redgaurd dual wielding improves even further with the “Elemental Fury” shout. The Elemental Fury shout means, you can swing faster at a cost of no enchantments, this shines when you dual wield with the adrenaline rush because you can power attack infinitely very fast making a deadly combo that most enemies get overwhelmed by.
I was like “all right! My favorite race the Imperials first!” And then I realized it was because it was the bottom of the barrel. Which is understanding from a gameplay point of view…
they get a bad rap. they are definitely middle of the pack worthy. Bosmer should be 10.
For the empire
14:24 bro went full kirito I love it
I love playing argonian for two handed builds because hitskin is pretty useful early on or mabye even at higher levels if you don't have much potions, always comes in handy but on one handed its just better to use restoration
I bet our Lizard friends would be on first place without the Survival nerf. I love the Argonians
Can never go wrong with Bretons' magic resistance.
Based on the criteria you used, I would put Altmer more towards the middle, and Orcs or Bretons on top.
Love your video!! What texture mod do you use?
side note, as an orc assassin if you use berserker rage while equiping the shrouded gloves and the back stab perk the game will say you did 30X damage but since berserker rage double that you will be doing 60X damage instead, one shoting unsuspected enemies
“You know those guys who are literally chosen by the gods and conquered an entire continent multiple times? Yeah they’re the weakest.”
I'm new to the channel but I'm glad I'm early 👍
Welcome! 🧙♂️
Clearly we all use the nord race. It is the ultimate race even without the best passive.
