  • As requested, I will show you how I wrap my cut flowers in paper. It is so simple you will see my 10 year old follow the instructions at the end and wrap her own! Once you get used to it, you will be able to wrap lots of bunches fast.
    I use twine rather than rubber bands and 80gsm Kraft paper in this tutorial. The paper size is 70x50cm. Buy Similar to mine, below:

    BACK STORY
    May 2020 we started a flower farm in North East Victoria, Australia. Moroni, utilising his Agricultural Engineering skills, and Phaedra drawing on her years of growing vegetables. Neither of us had grown flowers, neither had farmed. We didn't have any large equipment, and we had started up on a very tight budget. Our lowest temperature in Winter is around -5 degrees Celsius, our top temperature in Summer reaches up to 42 degrees Celsius at least a couple of times each Summer.

    Hi everyone! I get a lot of questions about the papers I'm using. I use a florist wholesaler (you may find one near you, but you also may need a registered business to purchase). So ive found similar papers on the following sites. Hope this helps!!

    Thank you so much for this straightforward, helpful & sweet video. Appreciate the different camera angles at the end, esp with how to tie the twine. Your daughter did a great job & I love all the different bouquets, too! 🤗

    This is awesome, I've never seen it done this way before. Most people use rubberbands on the stems and staples or stickers to close the wrap. Looks like 80 gsm paper is the way to go! And thanks to your video I bought a cute polka dot celaphane roll to go with the brown paper, it gives the wrap that extra special look! Can't wait to try it out tomorrow when making my mom's birthday bouquet. Thank you!!! 🌻

      Thankyou for watching! It’s way easier isn’t it. I have a more recent video where I filmed myself making bouquets and wrapping, in that one I use the plastic wrap but same technique. It’s fast. Happy Birthday to your Mom!

    That method is excellent! I've been using a roll of Kraft paper, and man oh man does it need wrangling! Can't wait to get my hands on some pre-cut sheets...and for the flowers to start blooming in my garden so I can practice wrapping like this :)
    P.S. Really enjoying the Aussie accent - makes me homesick!!

      @phaedragardeness  Před 2 lety +1

      Hello!!! I just bought a roll to try it out but I dunno… I like these sheets ha ha. I thought I could just pre cut a heap, as the roll is way cheaper. We shall see 😬

      @@phaedragardeness That's a very good point... A bit of forward-planning would make it cheaper and do away with the curling issue :)

    What beautiful bunches of flowers that you have made and grown. I adore stock and my mum and I grew them every spring when we lived done south in Victoria. I have tried growing it here but need to start it in autumn in Sunshine Coast for it to get decent flowers by early spring. I left it too late this year. When di you start your stock seeds Phaedra? 🌷💐

    • @phaedragardeness
      @phaedragardeness  Před rokem +1

      Hi Julia! Thankyou so much! We didn't grow the stock in this video! We haven't nailed the correct sow time here either, but will be planting seed in January 2023 to try for a late autumn crop. We will show this in our videos to see how it goes!!
