by ascending the void worm, saint has not only denied themself ascension but also reincarnation, forced to dredge through the same miserable existence for all eternity for the purpose of making sure others don’t fall into the same fate. Pretty tragic if you think about it, although the other denizens of rain world are stuck in a cycle of death and rebirth, saint will always be saint no matter what.

IMO, the actual game presents Saint as a pretty chill, pacifist character. But since he can’t talk or anything, his motivations are super ambiguous! I like depicting his campaign as “doing the right thing in a scary way” just bc it’s a lot of fun to draw lol

This is a great animation, but I have...a question. This is geniuinely just because i onpy have been learning about rain world for the last week, but...what is it about Saint that has people interpret them as a more...demonic or eldritch figure?
From the game and the art and everything they seem way more like a bodhisattva, a figure who has eschewed their own ascendence in order to help those stuck and left behind become free of theirs.
Ive just been parping around youtube and i noticed its a trend, so im just really curious about it!
