Great tutorial. But in offline mode when the AI goes into cheating mode, it will nerf all your players' skills while boosting theirs, cause your players to become disoriented and drift out into unwanted positions, and even dematerialize their body parts to go through you.
when the AI goes into cheating mode all your team members turn into crazy headless chickens turning completely dumb, making crazy runs and give invitation to the opposing team .. .
just want to say I just started playing this after years of contemplating it but stuck it out with Fifa but finally after draining money in Fifa 20 and 21 I just couldn't take it anymore I tried this and OMG what have I been doing with my life...Fifa is an arcade game, this is real soccer in a video game...PES isn't as polished or pretty but once you get it that actually makes it even more enjoyable, real life isn't as polished looking as fantasy and this game plays so close to real life...and there's definitely a good and fun learning curve for people who came from Fifa, you can't just run all over the place here, you have to think about everything you do and every little thing has so many possible outcomes, not just a bunch of repeats like Fifa...I love this game
I’ve just literally downloaded it 10 mins ago and played a game whilst it finished installing and I completely agree! I’ve been playing fifa for about 15 years and this feels a lot more realistic, I got smashed 6-0 but it was so much more fun to play than fifa
@@thejudderman8265 The thing is. I used to play PES before I switched to FIFA in 2012. But returned to PES 2019. Never play it like FIFA that's what I've learned. And scoring a goal feels as like an accomplishment
@@thejudderman8265 It's crazy, I can't believe this game existed all this time and I am just now getting to it...I first bought 2020 by accident and even though it was way more realistic then Fifa I was struggling with some of the gameplay then two days ago I went and got 2021 and they basically fixed all of my gripes...I am enjoying playing the computer so much I haven't even attempted an online game yet...it says a lot when I have more fun playing the computer in PES 2021 then real people in Fifa...this game has already gotten me to watch soccer on TV...really solid
What i do is .. if an opposing player running towards my goal and im chasing him i would usually use a defender on teammate pressure, while i continue running towards the zone where my defender was to close it down, i already at max speed so even if the through ball comes i will intercept it. I use it most of the time, i almost never pressure directly, i use the second player to do it for me while i go back and stay in his position, that way i have more control over defence and somehow its more effective than directly pressuring. The timing is crucial though, but it comes with practice.

It is very difficult for me to correctly position my player to cut the passing lane because the receiver of the pass is moving. Any advice you can give me to correctly position my player and be able to effectively cut passing lanes?

Awesome video! Now I would really appreciate a video about Myclub defending. Something about the collisions on Myclub doesn't feel predictable sometimes. You feel like you have put a body on someone and they still go through sometimes or are generally unaffected.
Try to hold super cancel (R1+R2 on Playstation) to manually run to the line of the pass and just release the buttons to intercept and control the ball.

I already tried this, it's only not working when above superstar level+Derby/final. In final/derby i can't even cut the pass, they still pass through my player, doing body shoudler and my player the one that fall down lol Edit : The buffed opponents is no problem, but the scripted play still annoying like they previous game.

Yeah, you can use the RT button and hold the sprint button at the same time to make use of "super cancel". It will allow you to run manual into any direction and it comes handy in many situations. ... And yes I'm Dutch mate!
I have a question about cutting pass lanes. In 9 out of 10 times when I am cutting the opponents pass the ball just goes through my player or goes 0,5 metres from my player but my player doesnt strech the leg he just watches the ball or crazy rebound happens which always ends in opponents legs. I am asking for advice how I can make my player just take the ball when I am cutting opponents pass. This things happened to often and I have given up cutting passes because of these things
Try to hold the X button (PS4) so that the player will run automatically to the ball. If it's not working, try to hold the ''Super cancel'' button (R1+R2) and then manual walk to the ball and release it just as the ball is near to your player his feet.
Let me give you all a little hint. Use advanced settings and set two of your defenders on defensive if you pump or anytime. swarm the box and gegenpress for only half the match. you are welcome.
@@fudgin430 well depends. If you pump they come up a lot. On many plays they come, depends of the defender. This keeps them back always. Or you can alternate one or the other.
Let the attacking player make the move first so you can jump in for a challenge. Don't attack them with your centre back unless it's absolute necessary, as your centre back is the last line of your defence. Literally

This is ridiculous Only in practice can you do these things But in playing against an opponent You can't do any of these things And getting the ball becomes very bad, you can't take the ball from the opponent The response is slow and the players stop suddenly stupid move I played all versions The worst version is 21 Bad ball picking Online you can't play

I don’t know if you’re familiar with FIFA gameplay at all but in fifa you can use L1 to make a player run in behind and R1 to make him come short to receive. Is there a similar mechanic in PES?? I know you can use L1 to make them run forwards but is there a command to make a teammate come short/run towards you to receive a pass? Please & Thnak you :)

I don't understand how it's 2021 and you still lose the ball to players that are nowhere near it...defence (and counter-defence) is still just pressing a button in most cases. All of the tips here are obvious, but in no way translate to the game for a novice player (been a fair few years since playing intensively). To me it feels like there has been no pogress since 2016...
I don't know but my players switching , no matter assist mode, gets me the worst positioned player. My A.I. almost never block or intercept the ball, unlike I see in opponents A.i., they look like they don't know what's happening on the pitch. Another thing that I don't understand, when Im about to intercept or clear the ball, when I press the button my selected player stops. My players are always slow, Adama Traore gets caught by any defenders . Opponents pass gets literally trough my players, my passes hit opponent , no matter pass support. I think all of this comes down to connection and lag. I managed to get top 10 many times in matchday , so I don't think I'm that bad , I'm not very good either, but when I lose a game after my keeper decides to pass to opponent on PA3 ,it's so so infuriating. sorry for the long post but some advices are welcomed. thanks
Listen, I hear all that you are saying, but, when I play on line NONE OF THAT WORKS!!!! I get so frustrated I smashed my f#^#*ing controller into the wall, I swear. My players don't rush in and close down when when I hold R1+X nor when I hold R1+O (I use O for teammate press). Opponents rush in and and close me down as soon as the ball reaches my feet or better yet they intercept before I even get the ball. I cannot get my player to do that no matter how hard I try. No matter what they do. No I just do nothing, I just wait and hope the opponent will make a bad pass and I will get the free ball. I need help. Can you help me?

I m stuck at superstar difficulty....I cant get how the oppenent ai tackles soo good and when i tackle i always foul..also i used to play a lot of pes like 8-9 years ago and i used to pressure a lot with square..now tryin to give pressure with square seems absolutely useless. Dribbling also is vary hard than it used to be and the players on offense when they try to move in space they are just bad...
I've been playing for years using arrows and not the analog. everytime I switch to a player and try to move him to any direction he changes before he goes where I want and I always lose my defender
Can you make a video on how to defend KICK OFF LONG BALLS? I just hate it when I score goals and the opponent just hits the long ball after kick off to equalize

I guess it is part of the scripting to make the AI take control and invalidate your team. It happens a lot and it's quite infuriating.

You can only ask players to come towards you at set pieces by pressing L1 so far I know
The L1 makes the run in behind if you havent by now worked it out by chance lol
