Caddicarus talking at regular speed? I never thought i'd live to see the day
Its enjoyable TBH rather than talking fast
The audio sounds slowed down, doesn't it?
@@TailedCarpet It is slowed down indeed.
@@TailedCarpet I was thinking it sounded funny
Ivan Nasonov yeh I can hear that, it sounds weird
The Alucard's room idea explain Juste Belmont's fixation on furnishing Dracula's Castle in the Harmony of Dissonance entry of the series...
I appreciate the brief pause for soundtrack appreciation haha! Sotn has a fantastic soundtrack!
What's the track's name? I've been trying to find this
@@TheKickzers I believe it's called Dance of Pales.
Wandering ghosts is my favorite track, havent played the game tho!
A lot of simphony of the night's ideas went to appear in harmony of dissonanse for the gba, one example of this is the fact that trought the game you will find furniture scatered around, later, you will find a room that you can decorate with said furniture
What else was implemented?
@@REDEEMERWOLF" rehashed" would be the correct word... Its almost the same game with minpr diferences like a diferent map, and without the richter segment at the begining, even the polygon-coffin/save screen is the same
Honestly, Xenogears, Xenosaga, and Xenoblade along with the history of Monolith Soft and Tetsuya Tekahashi has so much fascinating stuff to warrant an episode of its own.
is the audio slowed down ??
Did yous slow down his audio for this? It sounds a bit off
Pal audio maybe? The guy sounds British.
@@Sean-D78 Doesn't PAL run at ~80% of what NTSC runs at?
@@Sean-D78 *Woosh*
@@myopiniondoesntmatter7068 Haha nice joke :D
I just realized what you meant and I find it a bit offensive.
The idea of skeletons repairing the candles in Symphony of the Night is referenced in Hollow Knight. If you destroy the street sign at the bottom of the well used to enter the Forgotten Crossroads, there's a chance that you'll see a bug with a toolbox known as Menderbug fixing the sign the next time you descend down the well. If you perform Desolate Dive/Descending Dark and Menderbug spawns, you will kill Menderbug and prevent the street sign from ever being fixed again.
Mallow Orange Its funny. I recently looked up what enemies I was missing for the hunters journal and found out about the Menderbug who btw Ive never ever seen in like 5 playthroughs of the game. When I learned about him, I dove down the well and suddenly he appeared and died. Now all of a sudden in my newest playthrough I saw him again. Interesting.
I love little to-do's such as this in games.
It seemed inevitable that they would get Caddicarus for this.
Feels like nobody else does these
Who the hell is cadicarus?
@@OnlyInhuman90 a British videogame reviewer who, contrary to many many MANY youtubers, focuses on Sony and Playstation, with little to nothing to Nintendo or Microsoft.
Other youtubers focus mostly in Nintendo.
Why?
its Sophitia..shes in Soul Calibur, they say her name whenever you select her character.........
Thank you! Someone gets it!
Ahem. We know, he know. He talked about pronuncication. Did you deliver that? no
@@IamaPERSON This is a joke?
@@PAINNN666 it wasn't at first. In fact, I made my original comment before watching the video.
PAINNN666 What are you on about? video guy doesn't know how to pronounce the name of someone that is verbally pronounced in one of the games.
Putting it in 1.25 speed it sound normal.
I thought you were just joking, but...
Nope, it sounds about right.
Thank you ! !
True..
That Tekken fact was actually really cool. I thought they'd just made her up for T7
And then that idea for a decorate-able room and collecting furniture around the castle would resurface in Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance. I never knew it was planned for SotN!
"Uh...don't look at me".
Roger, activating shields. Lmao!
That pause is appreciated, thank you.
IIRC the lewd images used as placeholders in the Silent Hill demo sounds extraordinarily similar to how other games will use very unusual images/models for assets that need utmost attention from modelers, debuggers, or other staff. The idea being that the unusual image would basically tell the staff that something needs to be finished or fixed.
The cutest part about the Tekken easter egg is that their names are written under an "umbrella," which, when you put two names under it, means something akin to "(name) loves (name)".
The interesting thing about the Tekken fact is that the two names are written under an umbrella, which in Japan is the equivalent of writing two names inside a heart.
Nice to see more console facts!
Respect for appreciating the majesty of Symphony of the Night's soundtrack
Listen at x1.25 for the real Caddicarus experience
unsavory language like:
“Trying to Load Dude Stuff!!!”
Of course, the customizable room in the castle concept from early SotN was used in the GBA game Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance. And the running skeleton concept was featured as a secret enemy in Castlevania: Circle of the Moon
Caddy talking about PS1 facts in a DYKG video, very fitting.
3:02 My new favourite DYKG moment :D
the star ocean 2 thing at the end made me very happy
That was the most interesting patron reading I've ever seen.
Wow, a brief mention of Monster Rancher, fantastic! Such an underrated series.
I'm starting to feel that Caddy should be the mascot for Playstation
nice use of Xenogears intro for the patreon supporter list.
Best Patreon shout out ever. Great use of the XenoGears intro.
You guys have the most entertaining Patreon readouts, hahaha.
Teräs Käsi means "steel hand" while Tekken means "iron fist". File away under "mildly interesting".
I wonder if those Shaman King games I played on the Gameboy Advance we're based off Symphony of the Night?
Morgan also had Easter eggs in Jak II and III, one of them is in precursor language.
Of course, any dykg video with PlayStation as the topic will have Caddicarus narrating it
"Uhh don't look at me"
"Roger"
Love it lmao
the room customization feature from SOTN would actualy return in a GBA Castlevania game
Did you know? Your worst nightmare originated on this console, *_plumber boy!_*
And now that "Worst Nightmare" is on a Nintendo Console. My how two decades change so much.
(Cut to Mario and Peach bathing in the money earned from Super Mario 64)
Mario: Did you hear something?
Peach: Nope
Thanks for using my submissions.
I was surprised that the only Crash 3 Easter Egg was found by a CZcamsr from Japan (His channel is interesting, check it out. The link is in the description).
glad the patron announcement was what pushed the video over ten minutes, and not more facts like literally everyone wants.
Daddy caddy came back to do more playstation facts.
Hi DidYouKnowGaming Could You Do A Video On The Kariosoft Game Series. I Suggest this because their games have hit major consoles now and I would like to know more about this great game company
uploaded on my birthday! Nice!
Wow at 3:48 the early render second from the right is a dead ringer for a young Cameron Diaz.
EEEE I'm glad you guys talked about Breath of Fire 4
According to interviews with Rare, the company stated that they were outbid to make the next James Bond game so instead they decided to continue working on a similar game called Perfect Dark. They wanted to to make the the next James Bond game but they couldn't.
5:50
Can confirm that this is the true transalation
Love the Xenogears opening to mention the Patrons!
Awww that chimp was so cute playing on the PlayStation
That's weird... There's no music or sound effects in this video??
There's but it's super low
copyright strikes
Thank you for great and interesting videos here in DYKG. Just want to note (as a Finn, who had never heard of Star Wars "Teräskäsi" (should be written that way :P)): Finnish language is from a totally different language family than Scandinavian languages ("you were talking about "norse language" (around 6:05-6:11). The rhythm is totally different, also the sounds, and words of course. Finnish is part of Finno-Ugrian languages, not anything to do with Norse or scandinavian languages. Also, the national mythology is totally different. But you pronounced "ä" quite well! Thx!
Best Save/Load and Option Screens Confirmed.
always happy to learn more about one of my favorite rpgs BOF4
Ah.. SotN.. I can still remember what I had for supper the first night I played it 20 years ago.
i like how both the thumbnail games are on Switch now
The xenogears patreon shoutouts was amazing lmao
I knew I recognized the game used for the Patron bit! It's the opening scene from Star Ocean 2
To this day, I find it the best kind of irony that Nintendo inadvertently created their greatest competitor.
That Patreon bit at the end is mint. Gotta love the little stuff at how Xenogears looks.
7:47 Ahh yes...
Perfection!
7:45
Was i the only one who got stock here for about 1-2 hours playtime because i didn't realize those to the left and right weren't background elements but actual platforms you could jump on?
Love what they did with the ending
DYKG:..... Castlevania SOTN music
Me: Yes.
7:47 Thank you!
PS1 era was a good time.
What the hell was that abridged Xenogears opening about? Patreon?
because thay want to credit all the people who donated
@@agedstring
I didn't know at the time. But later, I did figure it out.
Did they slow down the audio for this one? Lmao, I'm used to Caddicarus speaking ultra fast.
I can hear time stretching artifacts. It sounds Normal at 1.25x
@@PlayerFiveVids Yeah, same here. I wish they didn't temper with the audio though. 1.25x sounds way better here so they should have kept the original as is.
I'd make an Alita joke in regards to that ballerina or whatever in the beginning, but I can only imagine everyone else has already beat me to the punch
That first commercial christ that's disturbing
It's so weird that the SNES was going to get a CD add on, but the Nintendo 64 was going to get the DD magnetic disc system. It seems so backwards. The Dd was basically a glorified version of the famicom disc system.
*clicks video without reading title*
“Oh of course it’s Caddy.”
Soh-fee-tee-ah. In my native tongue, it means 'nimble', 'arrogant', or 'voyeur', depending on context.
A possible alternate pronunciation is Soh-fee-sya.
NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Not ya boi Beowulf!
(@ 10:23)
4:47 Guess I should`ve seen this coming when spongebob games had this kinda hidden content.
3:09 Best bit of this video, keeping in a gag that had practically no informational value at all, but was quite funny regardless.
You guys forgot to include that the whole decorating room thing in CSotN was actually included in the gameboy advance version :o
Who edited this? The music is too quiet and Caddicarus sounds awfully unnatural, as if they artificially slowed-down his speech
8:54
Tri Zenon is an OVA, didn't know they had a game
Yay today is a good day
How is it that Japanese devs are so straight forward and honest.
If DYKG got Caddy for these, one of these episode needs to have Somecallmejohnny at some point
In Soul Blade also most Li Long weapons was changed due the censorship. In Europe showing simple yet deadly asian weapons such as shurkiens or nunchakus was forbidden at the time.
Another secret is in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 99 there is a South Park pilot
What the OOF!
Thanks Caddy!
I actualy have a mandela effect on Castlevania SOTN where my friends and I actually found Alucard's room and scoured the castle for the furniture. Later in the series Harmony of Dissonance came and I thought "Hey cool! It a actualy has a room and the same furniture hunt as SOTN!" Then I after a few years I got to play SotN again and was confused as why it doesnt have that anymore. I searched the web and behold, it realy didnt exist. Major twilight-zone moments iritated and confused me quite a bit.
What’s the scene at the end from I know I’ve seen it before?
I can appreciate Naughty Dog for referencing their Daschund in their game, was my childhood doggo.
Let me ask the age old question.
Any games originally planned for the n64 dd?
Yes
Earthbound 64/Mother 3, which was then cancelled, went through development hell, and finally came out on the GBA only in Japan.
not a common opinion, but Castlevania SOTN was my fav psx game. the soundtrack was amazing lol
"Fuck! Too many vertices" i laughed harder than i should have.
'member that PS1 season of Madness?
Oh man, the scrapped possibility of Alucard's room being accessible in SotN is doubly sad after the Netflix series...
I never finished the first silent hill...I think I was 7 or 8 when I first played it and I was just too scared to keep going. Such funny memories
Candle Skeletons explains the signpost repairbug in Hollow Knight
I love Caddy
In a simple man I see Xenogears for the patreon shout outs
I like this
TheJman 5683 Ah, so that's where that is from! Thanks for that. :)
Caddy! That symbol on the ground in tekken- with the two names? It's written under the symbol of an umbrella, which is a Japanese metaphor for two people being in love. :)
Oneyplays used for the footage, nice
