About twenty-five years ago I had driven far and arrived late to see my seven year old daughter in a figure skating completion. I’d wanted to let her know I was there, but a huge, tall rent-a-cop stopped me and proceeded to throw his authority around, letting me know it was up to him whether or not I’d go to prison, etc. He was not White, maybe thirty years old and it would take at least two-ands-half Don Knotts to challenge him on a teeter-totter, but he was Deputy Fife to the T. I thought it was a bit of a flex by Knotts when Conan said she was a pretty lady. He didn't shy away one bit and said to Conan, "Yes she is." Boss reply. 🤣
She was an actress who was hired to help him memorize his lines on a short-lived sitcom called “What s Country.” Din Knotts suffered from macular degeneration over the last two decades his life and had difficulty reading printed material. Francey became his girlfriend and eventually, his wife, before Don Knotts died from lung cancer in 2006. To my knowledge, she has never remarried. Recommended reading: “Andy and Don,” a 2014 book that details their friendship and careers. It was written by Daniel de Vise, a former reporter for the Miami Herald and Washington Post who happened to be Knotts’ brother-in-law. Well-written and very insightful.
Throughout my life I’ve watched all these great people pass away and it doesn’t matter if it’s on a TV show or in a movie or a member of a great rock group they all have one thing in common, they’re not being replaced. It’s almost as if one day, really great entertainment that is so well done will simply cease to exist. That sucks.
They've been dropping like flies and being replaced by repulsive disgusting actors and comedians and there's not a damn thing anybody can do about it. sickening.
In 2003 we went to a Dinner Playhouse in Kansas City KS. where Mr. Knotts was staring in a play, ''Golden Pond'' ... We enjoyed seeing him perform , the food was wonderful also ( Prime Rib ) if someone was wondering 🙂lol

Don Knotts. Dick York. So many true legends. If your face was on a lunchbox in the 60's and early 70's, you are a legend in television. Archie. Columbo. Sopranos. Dallas. ETC.

I loved him as Mr. Furley on Three's Company, especially, when his eyes would pop up when he was reacting to their shenanigans during their farces. RIP Don Knotts
This is a lesson in what it's like to get old. He is actually working a bit to take in the nuance of the conversation, but once he has it, he is quite sharp and clever in his response. It's also easy to see a newer generation's focus on irony over older generations' more traditional sense of humor.

Knotts was one of the all-time character actors and his Disney movies are gold (PS props to Conan for not taking an easy shot about Knott's "girlfriend" who is obviously a gold digger and probably young enough to be his granddaughter)
His movies BEFORE Disney were best.
I thought it was a bit of a flex by Knotts when Conan said she was a pretty lady. He didn't shy away one bit and said to Conan, "Yes she is." Boss reply. 🤣
He seamed to be pretty happy about it.
She wasn't a gold digger
That sucks.
I've thought the same thing, man. Good call.
They've been dropping like flies and being replaced by repulsive disgusting actors and comedians and there's not a damn thing anybody can do about it. sickening.
In a lot of ways, that has already happened.
This is my grandfather Don knotts who I love very very much 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗.
Great to see the "youngsters" there so starstruck and respectful.
In 2003 we went to a Dinner Playhouse in Kansas City KS. where Mr. Knotts was staring in a play, ''Golden Pond'' ... We enjoyed seeing him perform , the food was wonderful also ( Prime Rib ) if someone was wondering 🙂lol
"On Golden Pond"
Wow..he was still working in 2003.
Don is the Comedic Clint Eastwood
Don was the funniest guy on TV. What a great situation actor.
The Incredible Mr. Limpet ❤️
Chappelle and Don Knotts sitting next to each other. That brings me joy.
Iconic actor and still the best show on tv. Never be another like this !!
The audience reaction when he comes out is incredibly touching.
Such a true legend. Loved him in Herbie goes to Monte Carlo as well.
It's so nice to read positive things about a celebrity.
Wonderful actor, one of my favorites. Rest in peace Don Knots, Barney Fife & Mr Ralph Furley.
I'm a giant Knotts fan. One of my favorite routines of his was when they were preparing the restaurant in Three's Company and he was stymied by the wall paper and paste.
Don is a legend 🇺🇸
Don Knotts. Dick York. So many true legends. If your face was on a lunchbox in the 60's and early 70's, you are a legend in television. Archie. Columbo. Sopranos. Dallas. ETC.
To this day when life stresses gets me down I can turn on Barney Fife and everything comes back around takes me to a place that's hard to find in this world today no pain no sadness no hate life is better with little Andy Griffith gets me through.
Watching this I think back to all of the Andy Griffith episodes where Don Knotts took that show and ran with it, Barney as well as Don Knotts was a legend.
The Ghost & Mr. Chicken was my favorite Don Knott's performance. 👻🐓
Atta boy Luther!😊.

Dave and Don were on the same night? Legendary.
There are so many legends in this clip, it is crazy! I love all of these guys on this stage ❤️
And love the Dave Chappelle fanboy geek out at the end
The greatest TV show of all-time is The Andy Griffith Show. Nothing in that show is offensive but is watchable by everybody. Like most shows the first five seasons are the best and wants Don left the show it was never the same, but what a great show that is as viewable today as it was then.
One of my top 5 comedy actors
True legend!
Seems like a very nice man.
Can't ever forget ol' Barn! Legend has it!
Love you Don...God Bless, you made my life more fun
As soon as he starts to speak you can tell Don Knotts was a really smart guy.
The audience still appreciates someone as classic as Don Knotts. One of my favorites of all time and part of my all time favorite show. #TAGS
I loved him as Mr. Furley on Three's Company, especially, when his eyes would pop up when he was reacting to their shenanigans during their farces. RIP Don Knotts
FUN FACT: Don Knotts won five Emmy awards for 'Outstanding Supporting Actor In A comedy Series" for his
Barney Fife role.
This is a lesson in what it's like to get old. He is actually working a bit to take in the nuance of the conversation, but once he has it, he is quite sharp and clever in his response. It's also easy to see a newer generation's focus on irony over older generations' more traditional sense of humor.
What a band! I think it's almost unbelievable that Don Knotts created that character. There were some really touching scenes in it.
I love Barney and Andy... I watch everyday, sometime's, twice.. It's such a wholesome and fun show, no swearing, no terrible thing's about everyday life... It's a wonderful pleasure to watch such wholesome tv...❤️🥀🥀🥀🥀... 2022...
One of tv's best character actors & a good guy. R.I.P.
It’s Mr Limpet
