This is an introduction to Firestorm Armada; a space ship combat miniatures game by Spartan Games. In the video we teach you the basic rules as well as give an overview of the game.

Like the visuals, and definitely speeding through the tedium but showing the general idea of what happens is always a plus. I'm personally not a big fan of the sepia-tone old-school style vids though. Big fan of the up to date, technicolour going disney style. :P

Good vid, I am new to FA, and it is good to see a intro. But isnt the terran cruiser forward weapon fixed? As in, it can only fire strait ahead, and not in a 90 decree?
i realy like the look and feel of this game, it looks simple and fun to play with not that many rules as far as i could tell. so my question now is where can i buy this game, i live in the Netherlands and dont have a credit card.

Well you did the fleet tactic roll wrong and terran ships fixed weapons on their fore don't fire in an arc. you also forgot that you get pd dece for ships in the same squadron within 4 but otherwise okay introduction.
Infidel Heretic I love BFG - but it's rules are a bit dated now and quite honestly not being supported kills it. I think a lot of people are nostalgic about BFG.
+Infidel Heretic No BFG sucks the big one. Is the worse starship battle game ever. Most complicated but exciting would be Starfleet Battles. Next would be Full Thrust. It's simple fast and has enough complexity to make you have to think. Firestorm uses some of Full thrusts rules. Bab 5 is awesome as well. Intense damage system. Then you get the redone surface ship game BFG. It's a reworked table top of wet navies. Which is why is blows so much.
This is the first time I've heard of this game. Love the ship designs.

the movement system of this game reminds me of intercept orbit's (a lego based indie space tabletop wargame) movement system it also uses a ruler.

Initiative is usually 2d6 plus a command rating. In case it throws someone off.

Halo fleet battles are still better and has better rules than this and is kinda the same.
Not bad. But battlefleet gothic is just so much better.

I completely disagree with RickandPenny there. BFG is a good game and still fun to play. It IS showing it's age a bit...
