The coldest thing in NFL history was the 1967 NFL Championship game with a wind chill factor of -45 F. A spectator died from exposure. An official lost the skin on his lips when his metal whistle froze to his lips. There was no band because their instruments froze and several kids were sent to hospital with exposure. Several players got frostbite. It's still the coldest game in NFL history.
And the MLB will cancel games if there's a light drizzle.....

This is football, not MMA. Offensive players give themselves up by taking a knee or sliding feet first (in the situation of a scrambling QB). Standing still with the ball to run down the clock is just that: standing still with the ball running down the clock. You don't like it, then go tackle him.
